My first daughter's first movie in theaters was THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP... My second daughter's first movie in theaters was COYOTE VS. ACME... My third daughter is still pretty young, so you have another two years to complete this Looney Tunes trilogy with BYE BYE BUNNY.

People can read what they want, but I agree. That said, it's rare to find a Batman reading list that includes anything pre-"The Killing Joke" or "Year One." The same thing can be said for Superman, despite both characters having plenty of pre-Crisis stories to choose from.

"Birthright" and "The Man of Steel" both emphasize different (important) aspects of Superman and his mythos. You either recognize that or you don't, but calling someone a fake or surface level Superman fan because they enjoy the one you don't like (or both) is beyond silly.

I think the biggest thing exposing certain superman fans as being very surface level if not outright larping is the insistence on both birthright and Bryne MoS being good and representative of the character because both are so fundamentally opposed to each other

"Caped Crusader" has a handful of great villains (Clayface, Nocturna, Two-Face, Joker) and a lot of misses. It suffers, as these types of shows usually do, from trying so hard to shoehorn in modern ideas/politics into 1940s America that it feels disingenuous.

The betrayal of Ben Ravencroft is burned in to the memory of Scooby-Doo fans all over the world and you just know Tim Curry was having a blast doing the voice acting.
