Today, the Heathrow Business Coalition, met at Fortnum & Mason's flagship London store. Key highlights include: ✈️ Dr Gaynor Jeffery OBE, Director of European Region, Information Economy and Delivery at the Department for Business and Trade shared the ambitions of the Government’s new Trade Strategy, which is set to provide greater support for UK exporters and reaffirms the importance of free trade in driving economic growth. 🗺️ Members discussed plans to expand into untapped markets and broaden their global reach – from transatlantic tea brewed in Cornwall and Scottish salmon reaching over 50 countries, to Kent’s award-winning gin, and world-class logistics, IT, and cybersecurity services delivered across continents through Heathrow’s unrivalled route network. Last year, Heathrow facilitated nearly £200 billion in trade, making it the UK’s largest port by value. With the addition of a third runway, Heathrow could boost its cargo capacity by up to 50%, unlocking even greater opportunities for UK exporters. 🛍️ A behind-the-scenes tour of Fortnum & Mason, hosted by CEO Tom Athron and Retail Director Sean Ghouse. ✈️ I had the pleasure of joining a fantastic panel discussion at the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt e.V. annual conference, to focus on the strategic challenges and opportunities shaping the future of air cargo. I shared how Heathrow is generating opportunities for our customers outside the EU framework as the UK’s Gateway to Growth and largest port by value - handling over £200 billion in goods annually and connecting to over 200 global destinations. Heathrow's critical role in international supply chains relies on a continued focus on pan-industry collaboration to make every journey better.
