Andy Young shared thisGreat to the FTA project I worked on with Airborne Studio picking up another award 🏆👌🏻Andy Young shared this💎 We won Diamond 💎 Last year FTAforbrands took Gold at the Transform magazine Awards MENA. This year the same project went up against every regional winner worldwide and won Best Visual Identity in the Professional Services sector at the 2026 Transform Diamond Awards. FTA, the Middle East's first female music talent agency, needed a brand that could hold its own in a professional services conversation without losing the culture and energy that makes it distinctive. We landed on "In her power". Using the brand colours black, white and yellow with brutalist type, portrait photography that lets each artist own the identity in her own way. One judge said it "pioneered a new category." That's the version of the brief we were actually trying to answer. Two award cycles, one brand identity. Thanks to Anna George, who keeps pushing the industry. #TransformAwards #TransformDiamondAwards2026 #Brand #Design

Andy Young reposted thisAndy Young reposted thisI’ve spent part of this year exploring the world of property. Sourcing investment opportunities and learning the ins and outs of property development. It’s been a great way to stretch different muscles and see business from another angle. But brand consulting remains my craft. It’s what I’ve done for over two decades; helping teams find clarity, define direction and bring big ideas to life. I’ve refreshed my site to reflect where I am now and to share some recent projects I’m proud of. I collaborate with agencies, consultancies and ambitious businesses. Either as an independent strategist or by bringing together a team of trusted creatives and specialists when the project needs it. If you’re looking for extra senior brand firepower, I’d love to connect. https://roberttammaro.com #brandstrategy #branding #freelancestrategist #creativecollaboration #brandconsultant #brandconsultancy #designthinking

Andy Young reposted thisAndy Young reposted thisThe irony of AI branding. The world’s biggest AI companies are building their brands without using AI. Anthropic opened a pop-up store in Brooklyn. People are lining up for hours to get an Anthropic coffee and a cap. It’s all centered around the idea of problem solving; a quiet nod to Rodin’s The Thinker. (Why they went for this 2015 Instagram aesthetic is beyond me, but that’s beside the point.) OpenAI just launched a new campaign. No AI involved. Real actors, real directors, real stories. (And those ads are brilliantly done. The music choice, the prompt, the pause before the answer loads. Perfect tension, perfect timing.) The message is clear: The strongest AI brands are built by real people, not by the tools they create. They use craft, storytelling and physical experiences to make technology feel human again. Both ai-companies are working with the best people in the industry. Because when everything can be generated, what becomes rare is what’s real. And while AI can mimic intelligence, it still can’t replace creativity: the human ability to feel, imagine and make meaning out of nothing.

Andy Young reposted thisAndy Young reposted thisAirborne Studio x Female Talent Agency = GOLD! 🤩 An exciting night in Dubai last night at the Transform magazine awards MEA as we picked up the top award for our branding work with FTA. From the judges: “The brutalist typography and structured layout gave a strong corporate feel, while the photographic treatment maintains authenticity for artists” “I thought it had a bold timelessness to it” “Pioneered a new category” We couldn’t be more proud of the work. Anna George has been a joy to work with, completing validating our partnership approach by fully committing to the process and the work - and then absolutely flying post launch as a result. There’s much more to come this year from Airborne & FTA, watch this space. Huge shout to all the team who worked on FTA: Luke Kelly, Collette Davis, Andy Young, Khadijah P. and Alice Chan. Gold stars all around 🤩 Thanks to all the judges and everyone at the #TransformAwards - what a venue and what a night. #branding #awards #dubai #mea

We're thrilled to unveil the reimagining of Airborne Studio – new brand, new website (built in Webflow), and a new digital home at https://airborne.studio Why? At Airborne, we interweave strategy, design, and tech to transform brands and businesses. We help our partners lead change, not be led by it. Curious? Andy Young liked thisAndy Young liked thisThe Novo rebrand wasn't the only Danish icon to launch a revitalization last week - it was also the launch of our work for Royal Copenhagen 💙 With more than 250 years of legacy the task was to stay true to what is distinctly Royal Copenhagen, while making the brand feel relevant today, far beyond Denmark. I may be biased, but I think my Kontrapunkt colleagues nailed it 👏 At the identity's centre sits a refined crown and wave, the symbols that have marked the brand for centuries, now cut with a more deliberate hand and paired with a bespoke typeface as delicate as the porcelain itself. 👉 Curious? https://lnkd.in/eUipsfjw

Andy Young liked thisThe changing (type)face of football. ⚽️ Typography in football has changed massively over the last few years. For a long time, bold condensed sans serifs did most of the work, but now we’re seeing more serifs, editorial layouts and fashion-led type systems coming into the game. I think that’s a good thing, but only when the type genuinely feels like it belongs to the club. If everyone starts using the same visual cues to look more premium, cultured or fashion-led, we’ve just replaced one football cliché with another. For me, the strongest typography starts with the history, place, supporters and personality of the club, rather than whatever happens to be fashionable at the time. Tom Love has gone much deeper on this in his latest Substack, with features of our work with Chelsea Football Club & Oxford United Football Club, ofcourse. Andy Young liked thisAndy Young liked thisMcLaren Mclaren McLaren. Boring. Put up a logo for a HUGE brand that YOU have designed, let the world critique it with no context just opinion. Then and only then will anybody listen to your opinion. Put as much effort into craft as you do into critique and un-asked for feedback and the world will be a better place, you're no better than an AI flyer. Onwards. Up the creatives.

For Creatives.... Final project should be good as the in-depth research carried out. Our final work as designers, artists reflects how much research we have taken. l learnt that project inspirations can also include different world views to better understand how each customer views the world. Not just your client's direct competitors, but also indirect ones is where more rich inspiration lies. If you're a designer, doing a project on logo for a family's agriculture business that's to have a rustic or old style, don't limit yourself to one field of agriculture for an inspiration. For example, that agriculture business logo— for rustic or old styles, one could also include rustic styles in food packaging, beverage packaging. l discovered that rich inspirations are also found by looking at other industries that resemble the style you're going for. For richness in your project, it's good to look at other fields, to have a better design direction and create work that have meaning and connect with brand's purpose, audience, personality... #inspiration #creatives #graphicdesigners #graphicdesign #stylescape #moodboard #designdirection

This one came up earlier this week, so thought I'd share it. It's a simple typography thing, but in graphic design the details can 'cumulatively' make or break the design. When you have a left-aligned headline, the alignment of the second line needs some attention. Have a look at the examples below. In this scenario, the sub-head needs to align-left to the "stem" of the T, not fully left as most design apps would have it. We call this optical alignment, particularity when that first letter has a stem (like a T), we manually shift the type so it looks visually balanced. We do this with other letters like W, S, and O as well. The vertical guide is not always right, so we need to trick the eye to align it "visually." Give it a second look when it comes up in your design. Synergy Design Branding + Design
