Karl Holmes shared thisIt was great to be in Saudi Arabia this week at the brilliant JAX Film Studios, sharing what’s next for Disney+ in the Middle East. There’s a lot to be excited about. From 6 October, Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 will be available on Disney+ in Saudi dialect, becoming the first big Hollywood movie to be dubbed in Saudi Arabic. It’s a really special moment for a story that generations have grown up with, bringing these much-loved characters even closer to audiences in Saudi Arabia. We also gave guests a first look at the new global Disney+ app, launching in Saudi Arabia from 6 October. The new experience makes Disney+ even easier and more personal for our customers to use, allows them to take Disney+ with them when they travel, and offers enhanced parental controls and a dedicated Junior Mode for younger viewers. And there’s plenty more to come, including the return of Turkish hit Halef for a second season and Korean Original The Remarried Empress. A huge thank you to everyone who made the event happen. It was fantastic to spend time with our teams and talent in Saudi Arabia, and I’m excited about what’s ahead for Disney+ in the region.

Karl Holmes shared thisLocal storytelling is central to our Disney+ strategy and today we’re taking it a step further in France. We've confirmed a new innovative agreement with GROUPE M6 that brings hundreds of episodes from some of M6's most popular shows to Disney+. From 25 September, Disney+ customers will be able to enjoy a growing selection of popular French programmes, including the hit comedies ‘‘Scènes de Ménages’’ and ‘‘En Famille’’. Looking ahead, more select titles will become available ahead of their broadcast on M6 from 2027. This builds on the continued collaboration we're doing with broadcasters across Europe to create more sustainable value. Thanks to the teams at Disney+ and M6 whose ambition got this done.

Karl Holmes shared thisI’m really excited to be bringing two brilliant shows from The Overlap to Disney+. Stick to Football has become one of the most distinctive and talked-about sports shows around, and alongside Stick to United with Wayne Rooney, they're fantastic additions to our growing sports entertainment offering on Disney+, with more to come right across Europe. In addition to becoming the headline sponsor, Disney+ customers will be able to watch 20 episodes of Stick to Football throughout the season before anyone else. And we’ve commissioned 6 exclusive episodes, with some exciting guests joining the conversation, giving fans even more reasons to tune in.

Karl Holmes shared thisWe're excited to bring LALIGA to Disney+ customers in France with coverage that feels fresh, distinctive and made for today's football fans, giving young fans a new way to discover the league. LALIGA already has such a strong connection with fans in France, from iconic clubs and unforgettable rivalries to the incredible French talent playing in Spain every week. It's a great addition to Disney+, and I can't wait for the new season to kick off.

Karl Holmes shared thisPassion and skill, unforgettable moments and intense rivalry: it could only be LALIGA… and now it has a new home in the Nordics! For the next four seasons every match will be live on Disney+ in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, as part of existing subscriptions. LALIGA joins the Copa del Rey, making Disney+ in the Nordics the ultimate home of Spanish football, an offering alongside other major competitions and leagues on Disney+ in the Nordics and beyond. This marks a huge step in building a best-in-class sports offering across Europe. A huge thank you to the teams across Disney+ and ESPN who have made this happen.

Karl Holmes shared thisDisney+ is in growth mode right across the board. It was great to be back at Enders Analysis TMT Leaders Live today to share more about our progress and our confidence for the future. What do I mean by growth? Well… Our EMEA customer base is up by more than 25% since the start of 2025. Over the same period those customers are choosing to watch more – with growth of more than 10% in average viewing per retail subscriber. Our advertising business is accelerating dramatically, with revenue in the UK up 80% year on year. All of this reflects the powerful emotional connection our customers have with Disney’s storytelling. What may surprise some people is that in the UK and Ireland, half of our customers are households without children. What’s more, almost 40% of viewing hours on the Disney+ platform are from 16-34s - that's higher than the equivalent for Netflix, Prime, Paramount+, Apple TV or even YouTube according to Barb’s in home viewing data. This affinity is highly relevant to our overall growth: we use our exceptional reach and brand strength with younger audiences to deliver real value to organisations we work with. Safe to say our eyes are firmly focused on the growth opportunity ahead with this audience, and there is much more to come in the Disney+ story. Thanks as always to Claire Enders, CBE and team for putting together another excellent event. #EndersLive2026

Karl Holmes shared thisThe momentum, the drama, the moments fans talk about for years. That’s what we love about football and we're so proud to bring more of it to Disney+ in Sweden and Denmark. From the 2027/28 season, the UEFA Champions League is coming to Disney+ in Sweden for the first time, alongside the Europa League, Conference League and the UEFA Women's Champions League. The biggest nights in club football, all in one place through ESPN on Disney+. This is a huge step in our ambition to grow the sports offering across Europe, with great storytelling at the heart of everything we do on Disney+. Nordics football fans: We’ll see you soon! Huge thanks to the teams across Disney+, ESPN and our local markets for the work behind the scenes to make this happen. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eAdFhQjA

Karl Holmes shared thisWe've just released the trailer for Rivals season two - watch it with the sound turned up! The award-winning hit show returns to Disney+ on 15th May, with more drama, more wit and more desire. The second season continues the adaptation of the late and much-missed Dame Jilly Cooper’s beloved novel, introducing the glamorous world of polo and surprising new twists, alongside heightened boardroom drama and deeper romantic entanglements.

Karl Holmes shared thisAn incredibly exciting moment for Disney+ as we continue evolving our sports offering in EMEA and Asia-Pacific - an essential part of our content library. This launch reflects our commitment to meeting fans where they are and bringing them the content they love on a platform built for the future. Congratulations to the teams across Disney+, ESPN, and our regional markets who made this possible 👏Karl Holmes shared thisESPN is committed to serving sports fans. Anytime. Anywhere. Today marks a significant step in that mission as ESPN becomes available on Disney+ across 53 countries and territories throughout Europe and Asia‑Pacific. Fans can access a robust sports offering, including the UEFA Women’s Champions League, NCAA Championships, as well as LALIGA, the Copa del Rey, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, DFB Pokal, NBA and NHL, in certain markets. Disney+ subscribers will also have access to ESPN’s award-winning 30 for 30 documentary collection, a deep library of critically acclaimed films, along with select studio shows, including ESPN FC, ESPN’s global football news and information program. Proud to be giving subscribers even more to enjoy with ESPN on Disney+, and excited to see our world-class sports offering continue to grow here in EMEA.

Karl Holmes liked thisKarl Holmes liked thisParamount Skydance and the 12 states reached a settlement that will allow it to close its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, per the WSJ. The combined company will be a strong player among the Attention 20, and one of the 10 largest attention-native ones. When I first published the Attention 20 rankings in April, the 20 most valuable companies were worth a combined $16.6TN in enterprise value, with far more of it captured by attention-enabled companies (Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung) than attention-native ones (Alphabet, Netflix, Disney). Since then, the top 20 have risen to $20.8TN, with Paramount/WBD at ~$130B per my estimates using this morning's stock prices (which rose 10%+ for each company following news of the settlement). The merger removes the uncertainty that hung over both companies' pace of investment, and across the film and television ecosystem in Hollywood. While terms of the settlement haven't been confirmed yet, the streaming services Paramount+, HBO Max were never at issue, and the combined company will now have significant optionality in the third age of streaming (see last month's issue of Streamonomics). Among the open options: bundling, pricing, wholesaling, pace and positioning of originals, vertical video, and free tiers. What do you think is the company's first move in streaming?

Karl Holmes liked thisKarl Holmes liked thisA video of me, handing out flowers to our customers!? My mum would be very proud! Today we launch the refreshed Vodafone & Ziggo Priority programme. And the idea behind it is very simple: Our customers loyalty should be rewarded. Simple. Our customers place their trust in us every day. Many have been with Vodafone and Ziggo for years. So rather than only celebrating new customers, we want to make sure we recognise and thank the people who choose to stay with us. With Priority, the longer you are a customer, the more you receive. There are four levels - Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond - based simply on how long you have been with us. No need to spend more or change your behaviour to qualify. Just our way of saying: We appreciate your loyalty. That appreciation will come to life throughout the year through gifts, additional service, local events and days out, priority ticket access, upgrades, competitions and other experiences. But for me, Priority needs to be about more than benefits. It should change how we think about our relationship with customers - recognising loyalty, listening to what matters to them and showing, in meaningful ways, that we value having them with us. A lot of people across VodafoneZiggo have worked hard to bring this to life. Thank you to everyone involved. Today is just the launch. Now the important part begins: making Priority better and more valuable for our customers over time. The longer you stay, the more we want to say thank you. Because you deserve it.Al jaren klant bij Ziggo of Vodafone? Dan verdien je een bloemetje 🌸Al jaren klant bij Ziggo of Vodafone? Dan verdien je een bloemetje 🌸

Karl Holmes liked thisWhat a great way to celebrate reaching 1 million connected customers! Thank you to everyone who made it possible. 🚀🚀🚀Karl Holmes liked thisThe first schools have been selected – the Future Ready Learners programme is on its way to classrooms 🌟 Since announcing Future Ready Learners programme, our national partnership with CityFibre, we've been building towards this moment: today, the first schools across Coventry received a letter confirming they've been selected as our opening cohort, with The Tech Toolkits arriving by the end of the month. These schools and councils weren't chosen at random – they represent the range of institutions found across the country: state primary and independent, from affluent areas to low-income and under-resourced communities. They've been told directly why they were selected: to help shape a programme built to reach one million primary school pupils by 2030. What they help us get right here becomes the standard for every school that follows nationwide. This first phase is deliberately small and hands-on. We'll be working closely with each school individually – not just handing over the cards, but making sure they're used and refined to the highest standard for everyone who touches them: → Pupils → Teachers → Families The Tech Toolkit is a card-based programme covering four areas – Digital Fundamentals, Cyber Security, Technology Tools and Future Tech Careers – built to drop into PSHE, STEM, enrichment or home learning with minimal preparation. Once the toolkits arrive, we'll be gathering honest, direct feedback from these schools on what's working, what isn't, and what needs to change. That feedback shapes the programme before it reaches the next million-pupil milestone. This is the start of what Future Ready Learners looks like in practice: real cards, in real classrooms, shaping a programme that's going nationwide. M&A in accountancy has seen significant activity in recent years. Data from MarktoMarket shows that deal volumes for UK accountancy firm acquisitions have increased in Q1 2026 relative to the same quarter in the previous 5 years. This ongoing growth reflects a continuing consolidation trend across the sector, with SME accountancy firms increasingly being acquired either as bolt-on additions or as platform investments. Last year MarktoMarket’s CEO and Co-Founder, Douglas Lawson, and Origination Director, Matthew Burns sat down to discuss this trend in more detail. We filmed a full series which you can watch here: https://lnkd.in/eZhiTgP5
