Travel and Registration Information
Aspect-oriented programming (AOP) and, in general, separation of concerns mechanisms are becoming increasingly
popular. This popularity is demonstrated by an increasing number of AOP-related publications in international conferences
and journals and organisation of regular workshops at major conferences such as ICSE, OOPSLA and ECOOP. The aim
of this tutorial and workshop is to increase awareness about AOP and other separation of concerns mechanisms in
the UK computer science community by bringing together both UK-based and international researchers working in these
areas. The tutorial will provide hands-on experience with the AspectJ environment from Xerox PARC which makes it
possible to write aspect-oriented programs in Java. The tutorial will be aimed at people who are relatively new
to the area. The workshop will provide a forum to present on-going or completed research work and exchange ideas
about outstanding research issues. Since the tutorial will be held before the workshop, tutorial participants attending
the workshop will have an opportunity to expand their knowledge to state of the art research in the area. People
interested in attending the tutorial are advised to register earlier as places will be limited and allocated on
a first come first served basis.
Topics of interest for the workshop include but are not limited to:
Prospective participants should submit a 3-5 page position paper (single-spaced 11 pt font). Papers should be submitted
in electronic format (PDF or Zipped Postscript) to aopws2001@comp.lancs.ac.uk.
If you cannot submit a paper electronically please send 3 hard copies to:
