Canonical packages your application so it's easy for Ubuntu users to download it from the Ubuntu Software Centre.
Full-service option
Canonical:
- Packages your application for Ubuntu
- Makes your application available to all Ubuntu users through the intuitive Software Centre
- Packages up to five of your point or minor releases, and update the Ubuntu Software Centre (for a period of 12 months)
- Tells you about Ubuntu updates which may impact your application
- Gives you bug reports that relate to your application
- Reports the number of downloads of your application from the Software Centre
In return, we ask you to:
- Support your application to your standard enterprise level
- Make your security updates or point releases available on Ubuntu
Self-service option
Package your own application for Ubuntu but take advantage of our distribution channel and our expertise in maintaining immaculate quality standards.
Canonical:
- Reviews your Ubuntu package for standards compliance and technical best practice so it meets the highest standards
- Gives you a detailed report on the packages' compliance, with guidance on resolving any issues
- Makes your application available to all Ubuntu users through the intuitive Ubuntu Software Centre
- Provides advice if your application fails the initial inspection
- Re-inspects your revised package
- Reviews up to five of your point or minor releases, and updates the Ubuntu Software Centre (for a period of 12 months)
- Tells you about Ubuntu updates that affect your application
- Gives you bug reports that relate to your application
- Reports to you monthly on the number of downloads of your application from our repository.
- Only successful packages will be placed in the Ubuntu Software Centre.
In return, we ask you to:
- Support your application to your standard enterprise level
- Make your regular security updates or point releases available on Ubuntu.
Inspection service
One-off inspection for packages you prepare. Your package will be reviewed by our professional packagers, and we'll provide you with a written report. No distribution of the package or follow-up reviews are included in this service.
