Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet overview
Lenovo has an enterprise lineup of notebooks and tablets. The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 is a premium notebook, and the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet is a premium business tablet. It’s basically the Lenovo IdeaPad K1 with added business features.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet is a 10 inch Android 3.1 business tablet. It runs on a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core chipset. To connect to the internet you can use WiFi or optional 3G. Additional premium features include a pressure-sensitive pen for writing or drawing, and a Folio keyboard case with Lenovo’s TrackPoint system. You’ll get 64GB of storage inside the tablet and 2GB of free cloud storage. Another premium feature is preloaded DataViz Documents To Go to allow for editing Office docs.
I/O ports are HDMI, USB, SD card (with encrypting support), microphone and stereo jacks.
Design:
Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet is a solidly built tablet. It offers few additional buttons on one of the shorter sides. Honeycomb OS is a buttonless OS. The extra buttons we see are for home, back, browser and screen orientation. I am not really sure why this is an advantage of any kind. Perhaps you can let me know in the comments.
Size and weight:
Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet has a 10 inch IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass and 1280 x 800 screen resolution. It is 1.58 pound light and measures 10.3″ x 7.2″ x 0.6″. This makes it a bit lighter and smaller than its base IdeaPad K1. Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet goes on sale today July 20th for all US. It is expected to sell for $499. The rest of the world has this one scheduled for Q3.

Great products but the sales process is a nightmare. I would like to let you know my experience with purchasing Lenovo Direct. This is my second purchase with Lenovo this year, a T410s with docking station and a Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet. Both orders were a nightmare. With the order of the Thinkpad Tablet, the sales chat staff placed the order wrong and confirm they corrected it. The order was shipped incorrect, no worry they would cancel and reorder with the correct options. Now I have two incorrect orders and billed twice. I emailed the rep a number of times but no answers, called others and limited responses. PLEASE NEVER PURCHASE DIRECT FROM LENOVO. NEVER!!! And you have to wait two to three weeks for orders. Buy from Amazon, pay less and get the order in two days, with great customer service. Two orders and both were incorrect and where a nightmare to resolve the issues after purchasing. Again Great Products, but DO NOT BUY DIRECT NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY FROM LENOVO.
