Lumin is a buff applied exclusively by
The Lumin Vase. A card with Lumin has all of its effects doubled.
Information and Strategy
The Lumin Vase is the one and only source of Lumin, but it is an extremely powerful buff that the player ought to take full advantage of. To balance this, only a single card can have Lumin at a time, and applying Lumin to another card will remove it from the first. Make good use of Crowns to put both The Lumin Vase and the card to buff in the starting hand for each battle, getting boosted effects on the very first turn.
Lumin Interactions
With the right combination of Charms, it's possible for The Lumin Vase to gain Barrage. This requires a debuff-inflicting Charm (such as the
Snowball Charm), the
Battle Charm or Sun Bell of Strength, and the
Pomegranate Charm (applied in that order). This makes it possible to apply Lumin to 3 cards simultaneously, resulting in all of them having Lumin at once.
Lumin behaves irregularly if
Spoof, the
Shade Wisp, or the
Blank Mask summons a copy of a card with Lumin. Sometimes the copy will gain Lumin (removing it from the original card), while other times the original card will retain Lumin and the copy will not gain it.
Any effect that can be modified by Lumin has its value written in orange; for instance,
Fungun has the abilities "Apply 2
Shroom" and "Increase by 1 when hit." Giving Lumin to Fungun will increase the base effect to 4 Shroom. However, the effect boost from Lumin is applied after other effect-boosting effects are applied, so Fungun will still effectively gain 2 Shroom when hit, not 1.
Numerical keywords will also be boosted by Lumin, such as Fury and Explode. This means that Recycle will be increased by Lumin, requiring more
Junk to play the card with Lumin. For instance, the
Haze Keg inflicts 1
Haze and has Recycle 2. Using the Lumin Vase on it will cause it to inflict 2 Haze but require 4 Junk to play instead of 2. Note that keywords with hidden numerical components (such as Summoned and Greed) will not be affected.
Lumin can also be applied to enemy cards, which can be beneficial in certain niche situations. For instance,
Winter Worms will lose twice as much
attack when hit, and
Goblings will drop twice as many
Blings when hit. However, it is usually more beneficial to give Lumin to an allied card.
The Critical ability and Lumin do not multiply together to quadruple the card's effects. Instead, each of them increases the card's base effects by 100%. When both are active at once, the card's effects are tripled.
