Domesthenis (Dan) and Mary Hountalas have donated the Cliff House name and other assets to Western Neighborhoods Project.
We are so honored to be chosen as the trusted stewards of this legacy by the Hountalas’, who have dedicated their lives to preserving the restaurant’s history and crafting unforgettable experiences for generations of visitors at the western edge of San Francisco.
We preserve, collect, interpret, and share the diverse history and culture of San Francisco’s west side.
Since 1999, we’ve been a group of history-loving friends who enjoy exploring things we’re curious about in the neighborhoods and sharing what we learn with our local community.
We share stories, record & preserve living history, produce exhibitions, articles, videos and our beloved podcast, and host public programs in partnership with local artists, businesses, nonprofits, and other nice people.
