Zone duplication on upgrade?

    Just checking this with you…

    I’ve had this plugin running well for some time, but now it is showing the ‘no options available’ message to some postcodes.

    I notice that the shipping methods screen is showing duplicate rural zones but with changed titles – see screenshot: https://freeimage.host/i/2QFJoHG

    It’s been a while and don’t recall if I changed the titles or the site owner has done it. But either way, is it the case that the last plugin update wouldn’t have updated the ones with the changed titles, and instead it created new zones with the default titles?

    If the latter is the case, I’m assuming I can just delete the ones with the default titles?

    Yes, that looks to be exactly what happened. A couple of things here it’s safe to do:

    • delete the zones with the default titles
    • deactivate and uninstall the plugin

    On that second point, activating the plugin configures zone data in the WooCommerce database. The plugin does nothing beyond this initial configuration, so it’s absolutely safe to remove it completely from the site.

    Apologies for the slow reply, I no longer work with WordPress and only check in here occasionally.
