Community groups that focus on housing eligible for awards

The Enterprise Foundation, in partnership with the MetLife Foundation, seeks nominations for the 2001 MetLife Foundation Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing. The program recognizes community-based or regional nonprofit organizations and housing agencies designated by Native American or other groups that excel in property and asset management or provide housing for those with special needs.

Awards will be presented in the categories of Supportive Housing and Property and Asset Management. Grants of $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000 will be awarded in each category. Application guidelines are available at www.enterprise foundation.org/2001MetLife.asp. The application deadline is Aug. 13.

Entrepreneurs to sponsor talk about cyber crime

Entrepreneur’s Exchange Inc. will sponsor a talk about cyber crime Wednesday at Northwoods Restaurant in west Annapolis. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for networking, lunch will be served at noon and the program will begin at 1 p.m. The cost is $18 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Reservations are requested.

The group is developing and will discuss the second edition of its Entrepreneur’s Resource Guide. Prospective members are welcome. Dues are $100 a year; owners of start-up companies may join for $50 for the first year.
