Anne Arundel County police have identified a man found fatally shot on a sidewalk in Odenton over the weekend as 31-year-old Marquell Alonso Derrington, of Capitol Heights.
Officers responded at about 8:50 p.m. Saturday to the 500 block of Williamsburg Lane after a report of a shooting, police said.
When they arrived, they found Derrington with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Detectives with the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s homicide unit said preliminary findings indicate a verbal and physical altercation outside a residence led to the shooting.
