SpaceX launches crew to ISS
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cap Canaveral, Florida to the International Space Station carrying Crew-13. The team is comprised of two Nasa astronauts, a Russian cosmonaut and a Canadian astronaut whose wife is expecting their third child two months into the mission. They'll become the fourth couple in the history of space travel to have a child born while one parent was off the planet, according to CBSNews.
The launch was originally planned for mid-September, but was delayed to replace a valve in the Crew Dragon's propulsion system. It will take 7 hours and 50 minutes for the crew to reach the ISS where they will be conducting experiments and research toward future missions to the Moon and Mars, according to Nasa.
