Graham Pennycook was found dead in woods at Ludgershall, Wiltshire

The family of a "kind and generous" man found dead in woodland last week have paid tribute to him as a murder investigation continues round his death.

Wiltshire Police said Graham Pennycook, 64, was found dead in woods in Ludgershall, and after a post mortem, his death was treated as suspicious.

His wife Jacky has described him as "solid and dependable", adding: "He was a pillar of strength, trusted by all and always on hand to help family and friends whenever needed."

Anyone who was in the polo fields and surrounding woodland near to Perham Down and may have seen anything "out of the ordinary" on 24 September is asked contact the police.

Detectives are keen for information from between 09:00 BST and 18:00 BST, but "more specifically" 10:00 to 11:00 BST.

Graham was "a husband, brother, uncle, friend and, as a Royal Engineer, a brother in arms for over 32 years", said his wife.

She said he had many interests, being "renowned for the number of different cars he owned as well as a love of watches, and no day out was complete without an ice cream".

However, his loved ones were "always his priority".

Jacky described her husband as having a "cheeky grin", and said he "enriched the lives of everyone he met".

She added: "Kind and generous, but also principled, he would question the things he thought needed to be addressed in a conscientious manner."

The family said he was missed and have asked for their privacy to be respected.

Information can be provided via 101, anonymously on Crimestoppers or through the dedicated webpage for the investigation, called Operation Primrose.
