Given a sharp, boxy cut, the overshirt's clean lines and taut silhouette create a fuss-free, utilitarian feel, softened only by its cream hue and whimsical embroidered detailing. Forming part of Percival's SS23 ‘Foragers’ collection, this piece might hail from a capsule dedicated to British gardens, but its razor-sharp shape and lightweight construction render it an ideal pick for cool, southern French evenings like the one TH found himself in over the weekend.
Percival co-founder and head designer Chris Gove says of the piece, "All of the custom embroideries on this jacket either remind me of stuff I saw or did when I was a kid. When I think of foraging, my brain immediately goes to mushrooms, truffle pigs and nettles. My dad even grew truffles from oak and hazelnut trees so this collection is truly a proper ode to my childhood, it's all a throwback for me."
What's more, this isn't Holland's first dalliance with Gove's Soho-based label, having been spotted previously in Percival's Denton jacket to attend a press junket for his 2022 film Uncharted, as well as wearing a number of the brand's infamously celeb-adored knitted polos in his own, notably chic, daily life.
Nodding to retro iconography and images of Italian-Americana, Holland's styling kept things simple and suave with a ribbed white tank top and fine silver jewellery. For full Holland authenticity though, consider adding some tousled locks and strong, face-framing wayfarers. There's also the all-new Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph that pokes out from his sleeve, which balances vintage references with modernist details in the same way as Holland's anachronistic ensemble. A hypey timepiece though it might be, we can't say the new Carrera is quite as affordable as his £179 overshirt, but it's quite the piece of wrist candy.
