Haryana man crushed to death while repairing foundry machine in Canada

A 38-year-old man from Haryana’s Ambala was crushed to death on Tuesday while repairing mixer machines at the Gama foundry, an arc furnace located in the Richmond Hill area, 40 kilometres from Brampton, Canada.

The deceased has been identified as Kamal Sahni. According to available information, there has been no formal communication from the factory owners. Sahni’s wife learned of his death from his colleagues, who witnessed the incident up close.

Sahni, working as a technician, had reportedly entered the machine for repairs when another worker switched it on, crushing him instantly in the giant metal rollers.

Eyewitnesses told his wife, Anu Rani, that body parts were stuck in the rollers and the mutilated body had to be pulled out.

Reportedly, the body was taken to a hospital for an autopsy. Because his face was severely crushed, the family received a message asking for DNA samples from the deceased’s children to establish his identity.

As of now, neither the hospital nor the local police have confirmed the family about the death.
