Showers and storms will continue to move north and east across the state tonight. Rain activity will taper off overnight, but another round will develop tomorrow - mainly along our mountains and drifting into eastern Utah. There's a 20% chance for a stray shower or storm across northern Utah Tuesday. Outside of that, we're expecting a mix of clouds and sun and highs in the mid 80s. The rest of the work week will likely be dry with temperatures right around normal. As we head into the holiday weekend, the weather could get interesting. A few long range models are beginning to hint at a surge in tropical moisture moving into the southwestern US. There's still a lot of spread on when and where this axis of moisture moves into, but it's definitely something we'll be keeping an eye, because this will lead to another flash flooding threat. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 8.31.26
