Ohio’s latest school awards tell an important story about what is possible in community schools. This year, ACCEL-managed schools earned: • 3 of the 7 Overall 5-Star Building Awards received by community schools in Ohio • 16 of the 43 Momentum Awards received by community schools • 19 of the 50 total state award recognitions received by community schools That means ACCEL schools earned 38% of Ohio’s community-school award recognitions this year while representing roughly one-quarter of the sector. Behind those numbers is something even more important: student growth, strong outcomes, and meaningful progress in schools where improvement matters most. We are proud to see schools like STEAM Academy of Warren, Strongsville Academy, and Franklin Learning Academy recognized among the state’s highest-performing community schools—and proud of the many ACCEL schools earning recognition for momentum and growth across Ohio.
