At Avangrid, we believe conservation starts with connection. That’s why we’re proud to support Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo through the Avangrid Foundation—helping fund innovative tools like cold laser therapy that aid in animal rehabilitation and long-term wildlife care. Zoos do more than protect animals—they inspire people. And when communities feel connected to nature, they’re empowered to care for it. As the Zoo's CEO Jim Wharton says, “Conservation, in the end, is not really an animal or a habitat thing. It’s a people thing.” Supporting organizations like Beardsley Zoo is part of how we help power healthier environments, stronger communities, and a brighter future for all. 🐾🌱 Learn more about the Foundation here: https://ow.ly/tV3050YSvLb #NationalVolunteerMonth

Science and collaboration powering conservation 🦅🤝 ICYMI: Avangrid has been helping Boise State University to advance research that protects golden eagle nestlings in the Pacific Northwest. Our support is enabling researchers to develop and apply treatments to protect nestlings from emerging diseases and has already resulted in more adult eagles on the landscape. “Boise State’s researchers are doing some incredibly important work that we believe will benefit golden eagle populations,” said Avangrid Director of Wildlife and Permit Compliance, Amy Parsons. “We are proud to support such a dedicated team focused on improving outcomes for golden eagle nestlings. In collaboration with partners like Boise State, we are driving meaningful progress in wildlife conservation.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/d9DF3CQ7

ICYMI: A huge thank you to our friends at Oregon TV station KATU for highlighting our partnership with the Oregon Zoo that supports California condor recovery. Rachel Ritchason, Deputy Director of Animal Care at the Oregon Zoo, and Kristen Goland, Senior Director for Permitting and Environmental for Avangrid, appeared on AM Northwest on #EarthDay to talk about the results and importance of this years-long effort to help restore the population of this endangered species. Avangrid and the Avangrid Foundation have long supported a captive California condor breeding program at the Zoo's Jonsson Center for Wildlife Conservation. In 1982, only 22 California condors remained in the wild. Thanks to recovery programs like the Oregon Zoo’s, the world’s California condor population now totals around 600 birds, most of which are flying free. ⚡ Happy National Lineworker Appreciation Day ⚡ Today, we extend a huge THANK YOU to all of our lineworkers who help power connections for homes and businesses throughout the communities we serve. Celebrated annually on April 18, National Lineworker Appreciation Day honors the men and women who risk their lives to build, maintain, and repair our nation’s electrical grid. Their work is demanding, often dangerous, and happens around the clock—through storms, extreme conditions, and emergencies—to keep the lights on when we need them most. We are grateful for your dedication, skill, and commitment to safety and service. Thank you for all that you do. 💙 #LineworkerAppreciationDay #ThankALineworker #PoweringCommunities New York State Electric & Gas Rochester Gas & Electric Central Maine Power Company United Illuminating
