  • At its core, Mother’s Day is about connection. In fact, 42% of moms say what they want most is simple: a meal out with family. It’s always been a moment to gather, but this year’s key findings show how much the way we celebrate Mother’s Day is evolving. It’s not just about a single meal—it’s about bringing more people to the table, planning earlier , and creating space for every kind of celebration. And when diners show up for moments like these, our restaurant partners feel it, too. Here are a few of the insights shaping Mother’s Day dining demand: 🌸 62% of Americans say dining out is an important part of their celebration. 🌸 Larger groups are on the rise, with a 13% increase in parties of 6+ in 2025. For those dining out in 2026, 38% of celebrations will span multiple generations.  🌸 Noon remains the moment—12 pm was the most popular time to dine in 2025, making brunch reservations a key part of the day. 🌸 When it comes to booking,— 15% of Moms say they book their own table, while children (20%) and partners (11%) often take the lead. UK diners can now discover and book restaurants even more easily with OpenTable’s integration with Amazon’s Gen AI-powered Alexa+!

UK customers, we hear you loud and clear 🇬🇧. Alexa+ Early Access is rolling out to British customers starting today.     Pumped to see customers get this. Our Cambridge tech team built Alexa+ to be authentically British and tuned in to how people from across the country actually communicate. She knows what a "cuppa" is, understands 40 UK dialects from Geordie to Scouse, and may even drop "you're taking the mickey" into conversation.     Beyond the slang, she gets UK nuances like saying "the 15th of March" instead of "March 15th" or understanding that "entrée" refers to a starter, not a main course. Getting these details right is the difference between feeling understood and feeling like you're talking to a translator.     She's also integrated with trusted UK sources like The Guardian, The Independent, and Press Association, plus OpenTable to make life easier. She can do things like ask questions about the news and book restaurants through natural conversation, and can take action in the real world for you.     Super proud of the teams launching this. Hoping my friends from the comments enjoy the upgraded assistant they've been asking for.     Check out the details here: https://lnkd.in/gvUnTzjb

Did you know that women make up a significant portion of the hospitality industry—but hold only about 30% of management roles, and even fewer C-suite positions? (Restaurants Canada) That’s what makes initiatives like WORTH Association’s Yes Shef matter. As a sponsor of the inaugural Ontario event, OpenTable supported an evening pairing established chefs with rising F&B students—creating mentorship that extends far beyond one night. We’re excited to see what grows from here. Learn more ➡️ www.yesshef.com/ Photos by: Christine Reid Photography
