  • We're proud to see Sandy Springs recognized on a national stage! Community Playmaker recently featured our city and Mayor Rusty Paul as an example of how thoughtful civic investment can strengthen community identity while supporting economic development. At the heart of the story is City Springs, which hosts approximately 300 events each year and has helped create a vibrant, walkable downtown that brings residents, visitors, and businesses together. We’re proud of what we've build and even more excited about what's ahead! Read the full feature: https://lnkd.in/eSdcfFtB

  • We had a great time at Congressman Rich McCormick's GA-07 Community Job Fair yesterday! Our Human Resources, Police, and Fire enjoyed the opportunity to connect with job seekers, answer questions about careers in local government, and share what makes public service such a rewarding profession. Thanks to Richard McCormick, MD, MBA and everyone who helped make the event a success. Meeting so many talented people interested in serving the community is why we keep showing up to these events. If you weren't able to attend but are interested in joining our team, we'd love to hear from you. Explore current career opportunities at https://lnkd.in/eTC5RxWB

  • Every business has to decide where to grow next, and for Mister O1, that journey in Georgia started in Sandy Springs! We're excited to see our city featured in 1851 Franchise, where the brand shares how it evaluates new expansion markets. During Public Service Recognition Week, we showed our appreciation with a series of activities focused on wellness, connection, and fun, concluding with a Hawaiian-themed wellness fair and food trucks! We’re grateful every day for our employees’ dedication to serving the community. This week was just a small way to say thank you.

      +1
  • It’s Economic Development Week, and we’re highlighting the people helping shape the future of Sandy Springs.   Meet Chris Burnett, our Director of Economic Development. After spending more than 40 years in banking and helping business owners across metro Atlanta grow and succeed, including serving as President of Bank of Sandy Springs, Chris brought that experience to the City in 2024.   Now, he works to attract new businesses, support the ones already here, and partner with developers on projects that help Sandy Springs continue to grow in thoughtful, meaningful ways. From commercial development to creating more opportunities in our community, Chris plays a big role in keeping Sandy Springs a great place to live, work, and do business.   We’re grateful for Chris’s leadership and the work he does every day for our city. • We’re proud to share that the City of Sandy Springs was recognized as a 2026 High-Performance Government Award winner at the OpenGov conference this week. This recognition reflects the outstanding work of our Community Development team, who took on a major system migration while still focusing on serving our community. The results speak for themselves: a 21% increase in permit activity, a 155% rise in inspections, and 18,500 new multifamily inspections completed—all without adding staff.
