Unveiling our 2026 brand campaign for the National Marathon. It speaks of the nuances of the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas - Running in the tropics, up Benjamin Sheares Bridge, and how training for the marathon is 100% spirit and 100% sweat. Enjoy.

Our first Hood Loops session happened this Saturday, and yes, it was a wet one. But that didn’t take away from the experience at all, and we’re so glad to have done this. Hood Loops was created with a simple intention: to help runners experience more of Singapore through its neighbourhoods, routes, and local running communities. Big thanks to BYD for hosting the run at the start and finish  while creatively availing their cars as a mobile bag drop, adidas for giving participants the chance to test the new Hyperboost Edge, and Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) for the hydration support. Special shoutout to @Mountain Goat Running Group for planning and leading the run, and @Najib (a previous National Championships podium finisher) for joining and sharing his running wisdom during the run. We’re only just getting started. More routes, run clubs, brand and athlete collaborations, as well as ways to experience the city through our love of running.

For the first time ever, the 2026 EFGH National Championships – Marathon will play a role in the journey towards the 2027 SEA Games provisional selection squad. In addition, the total prize pool across all categories has almost doubled to SGD $177,500. This marks the first significant revision after nearly a decade without change, reflecting a shared commitment among the Event Promoter, Embed Financial Group Holdings as the Official Finternet and Sponsor of the National Championships, and Singapore Athletics to elevate distance running in Singapore. At its core, this decision reflects a belief in the sport and in our national athletes. By reinvesting in the prize structure, we aim to better support performance at the highest level while improving financial sustainability for those chasing national and regional excellence. We hope this step contributes to the continued growth of the sport and inspires the next generation of distance runners in Singapore. And so it begins. This December, our garden city will come alive with runners of every kind. Some will take on distances from 5km all the way to 42.195km. Some will take on the Crew Challenge with colleagues and friends. And some will bring their children to the start line for the very first time, making memories in the process. Few events capture the city’s spirit like our national marathon. It’s a cultural event that unites the city, the running community, and a shared love for the sport. Yesterday, we kicked off the next era as the new official event promoter. In December 2026, our national marathon will take place once again as BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas 2026. We’re incredibly excited to build on the past and chart a bold vision for the future. Our press conference brought together partners, stakeholders, and members of the running community who share a common belief: that this event is more than just a race. It is about inclusion, personal growth, and delivering a marathon experience that sets the standard for Singapore. Thank you to everyone who joined us at this first milestone.
