  • Starting chemotherapy often brings a flood of questions. What should I pack for infusion day? Which side effects should I expect, and which ones mean I need to call someone? Is it safe to try this supplement? Should I push through the fatigue or rest? These are the questions our Care Team hears every day from members in treatment. A new story in Everyday Health walks through the dos and don'ts of chemotherapy, with guidance from our Medical Director of Oncology Care, Dr. Asma Dilawari. One line stands out: side effects are not a failure. You are not a burden. The sooner you tell someone how you're feeling, the better your team can help. That's why we're here, between visits, around the clock. So you never have to figure it out alone. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/gy4KjAyf

  • Another successful Community Oncology Alliance 2026 for the books! This year’s theme, Innovation in Practice, came through clearly in conversations across the conference, from how oncology practices are advancing new care delivery models and expanding access to clinical trials, to the ongoing challenge of ensuring those innovations reach every patient, regardless of location. Discussions around AI in oncology, evolving policy, access to next-generation therapies, and payer collaboration reinforced how much progress is happening across community oncology, and how important it is to continue connecting innovation to real-world patient access and outcomes. We’re grateful for the many thoughtful conversations with oncology leaders who are driving this work forward every day. If we missed you at COA, we’d still love to connect: thymecare.com/contact

  • High-risk oncology patients often carry more than clinical complexity. They carry social and behavioral risk that can quietly destabilize care. Without structured support, those risks can lead to treatment delays, emergency utilization, and fragmentation across providers. Thyme Care’s Integrated Social Support model is designed to stabilize those factors early. Our oncology-trained social workers identify distress, intervene during crisis, address practical barriers, and coordinate across oncology and community resources to keep care cohesive. By reinforcing the full care ecosystem, we help provider groups protect treatment continuity while improving outcomes for high-complexity populations. • Patients don’t receive oncology care in one place. They move between visits, specialists, and care settings, often without seamless coordination. For care teams, this creates gaps that are hard to close. Symptoms escalate between visits, urgent needs arise after hours, and social or administrative barriers disrupt treatment plans, all while teams are already at capacity. Deep practice alignment is designed to support, not replace, the work happening inside the clinic. That's where Thyme Care comes in. By partnering directly with oncology practices, we operate as an extension of your care team. Virtual support helps identify issues earlier, guide patients to the right setting, and manage needs between visits, while addressing barriers that can derail care. When care is aligned this way, coordination improves, burden is reduced, and patients are more likely to stay on track. Learn more about our model here:

  • "Cancer doesn’t just happen to someone’s body. It happens to their whole life.” That reality is often overlooked in traditional care models. Even the most clinically sound treatment plan can fall apart when patients face unaddressed social or emotional challenges. From behavioral health support to resource navigation, oncology-trained social workers play a critical role in keeping patients connected to care. Yet, across much of oncology, this support remains limited. Thyme Care’s Integrated Social Support Team is built to change that by embedding social work directly into the care model to stabilize patients before crises occur. For providers, this means patients are more likely to stay engaged, adhere to treatment, and avoid preventable complications. • What separates oncology value-based care models that consistently deliver results from those that don't? Often it comes down to fundamentals. The most effective approaches are built on three fundamentals: 1️⃣ Proactive, population-level care: What happens between visits matters. Continuous monitoring, patient-reported outcomes, and early intervention can prevent complications before they escalate. 2️⃣ True provider alignment: When care teams and external partners operate as one, patients experience fewer gaps, and providers can focus on delivering high-quality care. 3️⃣ End-to-end accountability: Payers need models that scale across their population, not fragmented solutions that vary by practice or region. When these elements come together, the impact is tangible: fewer avoidable hospitalizations, better care coordination, and more predictable cost management.
