On World Safety Day, we pause to recognize something that guides every journey at Transdev: Safety First. For us, safety goes beyond processes and policies. It is deeply embedded in our culture, our operations and our sustainability strategy. It is the foundation of the trust placed in us by passengers, employees, partners and public authorities every day. Public transit connects people to work, education and essential services. But to truly serve communities, it must be safe, secure and reliable. That’s why safety and security are one of the key priorities of Transdev’s, supporting the wellbeing of our teams, trusted passenger journeys and longterm performance. In January 2025, multiple wildfires broke out in the Los Angeles region including in the mountains near Pasadena and became one of the most devastating California had ever seen. Transdev’s local bus drivers faced an unexpected reality: all regular routes were cancelled, and evacuation support was urgently needed. Without hesitation, drivers volunteered. Escorted by police into affected areas, they navigated darkness, heavy winds and ash-filled air to help residents reach safety. What normally meant transporting 5,500 passengers a day became a life‑saving mission for the community. Their actions reflected what Transdev teams live every day through main safety principles: operational responsibility, focus and awareness, care for wellbeing, zero tolerance for risk, and the courage to speak up and act. They guide decisions, behaviors and actions in daily operations, and especially when it matters most.
