💡 It’s Time to Think Beyond PUE ⚡ Today, Verrus released our white paper on a new “PUx” framework, extending the industry standard efficiency metric, PUE, pioneered by Christian Belady. PUE was built for a different era. It taught us to minimize waste and reduce energy costs, and we did. With power now the dominant constraint for data center buildouts, PUx is about measuring energy productivity across your entire facility and emphasizing how much productive compute you squeeze out of every available utility watt. Verrus is developing a new generation of data centers built with this philosophy top of mind. When we applied the PUx framework to our 70MW data center design, the analysis results speak for themselves. Compared to a conventional wholesale data center design: ⚡96% utilization of nameplate capacity (vs. 69% conventional) ⚡75% of available utility energy converted into productive IT (vs. 49% conventional) ➡️ 18 MW of additional compute from the same 70MW interconnection In other words: 🚀 Get the output of THREE conventional data centers with just TWO Verrus facilities. This is all thanks to our pioneering integrated design and incredible work from our team – unifying IT, cooling, and power distribution into a single intelligent PowerFlow(TM) platform that dynamically optimizes every available watt. Long interconnection queues don't have to be your bottleneck. The biggest challenge for AI and cloud scaling in 2026 isn't chips—it’s power. While others are waiting for grid upgrades that are years away, Verrus is changing the conversation with grid-aware, flexible infrastructure. We’re heading to PTC’26 in Honolulu to meet with the leaders ready to move faster. Let’s sit down and discuss: - Untapped capacity access: How Verrus PowerFlow™ enables more effective use of power. - Grid-Friendly: Infrastructure that is an asset to the grid, rather than a drain. - The BESS-First Future: Sustainable scaling through battery-centric design. 📍 Where: Hilton Hawaiian Village, Honolulu 📅 When: January 18–21 Squeeze more out of every watt - Drop us a comment or message to connect #Verrus #PTC26 #DataCenterDevelopment #GridModernization #AIInfrastructure #SustainableTech #SqueezeMoreOutOfEveryWatt

A big thank you to the team at Latitude Media, and especially Tyler Norris, for the insightful coverage in this week's article, "A status update on data center flexibility." It’s an honor to be recognized alongside other innovative companies working to solve the evolving challenges in our industry. The article accurately highlights the imperative for solutions that enable data centers to adapt to the changing demands of the electrical grid. At Verrus, we firmly believe that a fundamental part of the solution lies in reimagining the flow of power within and between data center facilities and utilities. We're excited to be able to do that without customer impact, while delivering industry leading efficiency and utilization. Looking forward to continue our collaboration with industry leaders to cultivate a more resilient and flexible future for data infrastructure. 💡Can data centers help the grid? That’s the question explored in the latest episode of ⚡Volts by david roberts, as he sat down in conversation with our Head of Energy Jeff Bladen At Verrus, we’re building data centers that don’t just consume energy — they contribute to grid reliability. With fast load curtailment, on-site BESS, and grid-aware design, our platform is built to serve utilities, not strain them. Thank you, david roberts, for digging into this nuanced topic. The future of data centers can be grid-interactive — and it isn’t theoretical. It’s happening now! 🎧 Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gAf5NVQi #GridInteractive #DataCenters #EnergyStorage #DemandFlexibility #ResourceAdequacy #Verrus #VoltsPodcast

Last month at the #NREL Partner Forum, Verrus announced our “digital twin” test platform, built to emulate the impact of large data center loads on the grid and showcase Verrus’ flexible design capabilities. Today, we have released the Technical Report describing the details of the test platform along with performance results. Download the full report at https://lnkd.in/gnE29C63 During the Partner Forum Verrus received numerous call outs for our pioneering approach. Our CTO, Anand Ramesh, delivered an impactful message about Verrus' innovative approach to data center architecture and power flow management that make it possible to use battery energy storage in a truly dual-purpose way: providing robust backup for resilience and delivering real-time flexibility to the grid. Verrus’ Jeff Bladen and Ben Wheeler spoke on the final day of the forum on how Verrus will be bringing these ideas to life with coming real-world deployments at scale. Saurav Talukdar led a demonstration of Verrus’ control systems and grid-interactive flexibility using the test platform. Huge thanks again to National Renewable Energy Laboratory for hosting such a thoughtful and collaborative event and to MISO and Xcel Energy for their support in designing real world testing for Verrus’ flex capabilities. We’re excited to help lead a growing movement to rethink how digital infrastructure and power systems work together. #DataCenters #GridFlexibility #BatteryStorage #PowerFlow #EnergyResilience #NRELPartnerForum #DigitalInfrastructure #Innovation #CleanEnergy #DemandFlexibility #AIInfrastructure #Verrus

⚡The future of grid-interactive data centers is here. At this week's National Renewable Energy Laboratory Partner Forum in Golden, Colorado, we unveiled our grid-interactive data center test platform and demonstrated how flexible data centers are a valuable resource for managing utility power infrastructure. The test platform simulates Verrus’ novel data center power flow management system with integrated long-duration battery energy storage, delivering faster grid response and greater resilience while meeting the strict uptime demands of modern workloads. Using our test platform, we demonstrated advanced, build-ready capabilities with NREL, including: • Demand response with up to 100% load curtailment within 10s of a utility signal • Uninterrupted transition to battery-powered mode during simulated outages • Coordinated power management with zero impact to IT workload With these capabilities, Verrus enables grid operators to better manage today’s unprecedented demand for power through fast, dispatchable peak shaving, enhanced reliability against large load swings, and the ability to integrate more renewable energy. Read more on our blog and sign up to receive the technical report to learn how Verrus is deploying the next generation of data center infrastructure, commercially available today. https://lnkd.in/gnE29C63 #NREL #datacenters, #energy, #infrastructure, #gridinteractive #cleanenergy #demandflexibility #AIInfrastructure #verrus #BESS #energyresilience #decarbonization #NRELPartnerForum
