Amanda Parks shared thisHere we go… 🚀🚀🚀Amanda Parks shared thisAI security startup Onyx Security raises $113 million Series B at $640 million valuation. Just four months after emerging from stealth, the Israeli startup is betting that securing AI agents will become one of cybersecurity's biggest markets. https://lnkd.in/dDj7ZKZZ

Amanda Parks shared thisMy favorite place in the world!Amanda Parks shared thisI will be in Newport, RI, for a private CISO event July 29th. I've invited a few select CISOs in my network to join me. I'm hoping to meet some others in the Boston area that are open to join. Ping me if you will be around during that time and I'll send you the invite details. It's something special. #CISO #Boston #RhodeIsland #Networking

Amanda Parks shared thisIt's official, Onyx Security is out of stealth! This past month has been a whirlwind in the best possible way. From SKO in Greece, on-sites with customers and partners, and now heading into conference season, there hasn't been a dull moment. In a short time, I’ve learned a lot — some things obvious, some less so. AI is moving incredibly fast, and the space is getting noisy. The more conversations I have with customers, and the more time I spend with our product team and founders, the clearer it becomes: Onyx isn’t the next point solution. We’re building for the long term. Our goal is to be a true partner to enterprises as they adopt and scale AI — meeting organizations where they are today, while thinking two steps ahead so they’re ready for what’s next. Looking forward to what's to come on this journey with some of the best: Gil Elbaz Maxim Bar Kogan Lotem Guy Rob Witmer Shahzad Akhai, MBA, CPA David Carroll Stephen Fitzgerald Cheng Ren Alex Davidov George Snowflack Danny Brinkley John Kousch Brian Buckman Sean Okochi, CISA Johnathan Henderson Mark Loewenstein Timothy Youngblood, CISSP Yuval Neuhaus Oran OvedAmanda Parks shared thisToday, we're excited to launch Onyx Security! Onyx has built the first secure AI control plane - a single platform to serve security, governance, and infrastructure teams as they oversee how AI agents are used, ensure they are secure and compliant, and measure their effectiveness. AI agents are becoming the backbone of how companies operate, but their autonomous nature creates new risks. It’s critical to monitor their reasoning and intervene in real time to ensure agents are secure and operate as intended. Traditional security wasn't built for this. Onyx was. We're launching with $40M in funding from Conviction and Cyberstarts, a global team over 70, and multiple Fortune 500 customers. We’re grateful to all of the people who’ve helped us to get to this milestone, which has been over a year in the making. Below, watch our founders Maxim Bar Kogan and Gil Elbaz share more about the story of Onyx. Amanda Parks shared thisAfter 8 incredible years at Snyk, today is my last day. I remember when Ethan Schechter called me just as I was about to accept another offer to convince me to join him. After speed interviews with Guy Podjarny, Assaf Hefetz, Danny Grander, Aner Mazur and Geva Solomonovich (DREAM TEAM), the rest was history. I knew Ethan was right, there was something special about this place. I have experienced so many personal and professional milestones here that it is difficult to put my feelings into words. I am deeply grateful for every connection, success, and even the failures. While it is impossible to thank everyone who has impacted me along the way, I want to specifically recognize the leadership of Ethan Schechter, Brian McDonough, Kyle Novellano, Dino DiMarino, Peter McKay, Carey Stanton, Manoj Nair, Brian Duffy, Ryan Walsh, Jamie Taylor and so many others. Thank you for believing in me and for your support. To my teams, past and present: you inspire me to be better and to show up for you every day. You have taught me so much and have truly evolved my perspective. Finally, thank you to our customers and partners who have been there every step of the way. You're simply the best and have made all of this possible. I will miss everyone at Snyk dearly, but am looking forward to doing it all over again...Stay tuned for what’s next!

Amanda Parks reposted thisAmanda Parks reposted this"Isn't Python just really slow?" I get asked this a lot. The honest answer: yes, the interpreter is slow. But for many performance-critical workloads, Python can absolutely deliver optimal speed. The secret is its ecosystem. Take numerical computing. NumPy provides exceptional performance, but you still pay the interpreter penalty on every function call. Enter Numba - it JIT-compiles your Python to deliver compiled-code-level performance. The catch? Numba code can be tricky to write correctly. There's so much numerical code out there that could be dramatically faster, if only someone rewrote it with Numba... Got NumPy code you suspect is leaving performance on the table? I'd love to take a look.

Amanda Parks reposted thisAmanda Parks reposted this🔔💡AI has already gone autonomous. Security hasn’t — until now. Today we begin a new chapter for software security. 🔒 Introducing Evo by Snyk — the world’s first Agentic Security Orchestrator. This isn’t “yet another AI security tool.” It’s a security command system that gives teams the power to defend AI-native applications at machine speed — without slowing innovation. Because here’s the truth 👇 ✅ AI isn’t a feature anymore — it’s architecture ✅ The new attack surface includes models, agents, memory and MCP ✅ Security teams don’t need more alerts — they need orchestration ✅ Builder velocity demands autonomous defense ⚡ What Evo does Transforms security intent → into → coordinated agent action using autonomous orchestration: ✅ Discovers AI components (AI-BOM) ✅ Enforces AI governance policies ✅ Red teams agents + LLMs continuously ✅ Shields AI-native systems at runtime ✅ Automates remediation developers trust This launch is about more than a product. It’s about a movement — the rise of the AI Security Engineer and a shift toward secure-by-design AI. 📖 My Blog with more details on why Evo → https://lnkd.in/e_9GitCN 🎥 Quick look below Randall Degges and me discussing Evo https://lnkd.in/e9ZNkCay AI will transform the world — our job is to make sure it’s secure by default, secure by design and secure at inception. Congrats to the innovating minds at Snyk who made this amazing progress a reality and deep appreciation to dozens of our design partner enterprises with the most complex environments in the world who iterated on building this with us! 🙏🏽 Let’s build what the future demands. 💥 #AISecurity #Evo #AgenticSecurity #AIEngineering #CyberSecurity #LLMSecurity #AppSec #SecurityInnovation #DevSecOps #AIPlatforms #MachineLearningSecurity #Snyk #BuildSecurely

Amanda Parks liked thisAmanda Parks liked thisFriday was my last day at Endor Labs, and what a fun and exciting ride it was. To see and help grow the team from just a few of us on GTM to what it is today is really special and something you don’t get to experience often. I am forever grateful for the entire team at Endor Labs for everything they’ve taught me and provided during my time there, especially Varun Badhwar, Amod Gupta, Rohonesh Kar, Tom G., Zack Sikora, and Nic LaBuz. A truly legendary leadership team that really cares about their people. I made friends for life while at Endor Labs, and it was truly a wonderful experience. Thank you for everything fellow Ewoks 💚 When one chapter ends, another begins - I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined OpenAI as an Applied AI Engineer for the Cyber Team! Secure SDLC is something I’m deeply passionate about, so to be able to combine that with AI and Agentic use cases to solve problems in cyber security is something I’m really looking forward to helping build. Really excited to get started this week and to work with the likes of Minh Le, Vanessa Sauter, Puneet Agarwal, and the rest of the team!

Amanda Parks liked thisAmanda Parks liked thisWow what an amazing experience being back in the hill country in Austin, TX at the Millennium Alliance CISO event at the beautiful Omni Barton Creek. The Millennium Alliance will put on a high class event with a great mix of networking, content, and meaningful vendor engagement. It was great meeting the Co-Founder Alex Sobol. I loved catching up my old UT classmates and former team members from my time as the CISO of Dell. As well as many other old friends from over the years. The key take away for me was AI is continuing to transform our teams and our organizations and we need to adjust the way we think about old processes. We shouldn't just be putting AI on top of legacy approaches. We have to reimagine how we get work done. Thanks to the sponsors especially Onyx Security which provided great opportunities to rethink how we do things. #MillennumAlliance #Onyx #Cyber #CISO #AI

Amanda Parks liked thisAmanda Parks liked thisIt turns out the winds of change are blowing in the Southeast… and they are blowing upwind!! I am SO EXCITED to officially announce that I have joined Upwind Security to help build the channel in the Southeast, make a lotta noise and help write the next chapter of the Upwind story🏄♀️🏄🏽♂️ Turns out my SASE Summer had a bit of a plot twist, but sometimes an opportunity comes along when you least expect it. One that feels rare enough, exciting enough, and just a little scary enough that you know you have to take the chance. This was that opportunity. The people, the tech, the momentum, the ability to build something and challenge myself✨How could a gal say no? So if you haven’t heard the name Upwind Security yet… you might want to remember it. I have a feeling you’re going to be hearing it a lot 😜 And you know I’m already thinking up themes and swag ideas! To my Netskope friends, thank you for an amazing few years. I will forever sing your praises and be cheering you on! It’s been amazing being the SASEiest CAM in the South💙🧡🤍 Long story short: New company. New adventure. Same me. Just with significantly more wind jokes and weather puns! Up & Up! 🌊🏄♀️🤙🏼 ☁️

Amanda Parks liked thisAmanda Parks liked thisEvery once in a while, you come across an opportunity where the timing just feels right. This is one of those times. I’m incredibly excited to finally share that I’ve joined Onyx Security as a Founding Recruiter, leading our North America recruiting efforts, helping build our best-in-class GTM teams as we scale and unlock this next chapter of massive growth. There are certain companies where you get get in early, believe in the problems being solved, and actually help shape what comes next. On the heels of a massive $113M Series B, only four months after coming out of stealth, the company has already quadrupled revenue. This is one of those companies and the momentum is real! Thank you to Liron Ripp for the great interview process and entrusting me with this special opportunity. Excited for the amazing ride ahead!! 🚀

Amanda Parks liked thisAmanda Parks liked thisIt was a grueling negotiation, but we’ve come to terms with a new mostly metrics mascot. We paid McKinsey seven figures to do a study, and our hypothesis proved out: people love babies, perhaps even more than dogs. This included finance leaders, who are often perceived to be heartless merchants of "no". If I’m being honest, this was difficult news to break to our mascot of 5 years, Walter. It all began with a tradition unlike any other, where he’d earn an ice cream for every 1,000 newsletter subscribers. Since it’s America, the land of excess, this eventually just became one Hoodsie ice cream per night bc he’d lay in front of the freezer and bark and scratch the floor like a jerk until we gave him one. It’s a sad day for Walter, as he retires and passes the torch to grant, but he’s also happy and fat from all the ice cream (plus, the vet says he’s a pre diabetic bernedoodle). Grant, who is full of rolls, will be kicking off his first mass marketing campaign next week, reminding FP&A folks to “roll forward” their budgets for 2027. Subscribe to mostlymetrics.com for more Grant (and occasionally Walter) and most importantly, weekly CFO content.

Amanda Parks liked thisOnyx Security is proud to support Summit 6 and we are looking forward to this closing keynote! Local leaders, let’s connect for a chat; eager to understand where AI adoption has shaped your plans for 2027. Happy to share more information on Onyx’s cost optimization, compliance, governance and AI security, all available in one control plane.Amanda Parks liked thisTwo people from the same company, one running security and one running compliance, close Summit 6 together. Artie Wilkowsky is CISO at EchoStar / DISH Network. Andrew Hall is Chief Compliance Officer. Their closing keynote, Privilege, Paranoia, and Privacy, is about what it takes for those two functions to work with each other rather than around each other, drawn from doing it at a company where both carry real weight. It is this year's theme delivered by the people who have to make it work on an ordinary Tuesday, rather than as a principle everyone nods along to. Closing keynote, Friday September 25. https://lnkd.in/eHcFYMfW

Amanda Parks liked thisAmanda Parks liked thisNext stop: San Diego 🇺🇸✈️ Looking forward to a few days with the Onyx Security GTM and extended leadership team - and to meeting several new faces who recently joined us, including some from EMEA. 🤗 A lot has happened since I joined Onyx a few months ago, and it’s great to see the team growing so quickly. Really appreciate the culture: ambitious people, very little ego, and everyone genuinely willing to help each other. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the same room, exchanging ideas, learning from each other - and having some fun. And yes, we’re still growing! If AI security sounds like an interesting space to be in, just ping me! San Diego, here we come 🌴🌮

Amanda Parks liked thisAmanda Parks liked thisNow that I've caught up on sleep from Black Hat… not sure what was hotter- A Security events, booth, and conversations, or the Vegas heat. 🔥 We went big. A few highlights from the week: 🚁 Helicopters + supercars 🥂 Dinner at Gymkhana 🍽️ Dinner at Delilah 📸 Private celebrity headshots 🥟 Dim sum at Mott 32 🎹 Dinner + dueling pianos at the Wynn 🧋 'slurpAs' + a shot at F1 tickets But the conversations are what stuck with me. Same story from every security leader: AI is writing their code, shipping it faster, and point-in-time pentesting can't keep up. And this year it stopped being hypothetical when an autonomous AI agent breached Hugging Face - chaining vulnerabilities and moving at machine speed, compressing a weeks-long campaign into seconds. The "AI-speed attacker" everyone's been forecasting showed up for real. 👀 So the question has changed. Not "did we test before launch?" but "are we resilient against AI-speed attackers right now?" That's the gap A Security was built for. Continuous, autonomous offensive security. Real attack paths, proven and closed. Til next year BH! 🚀

🔔 Cyber Market Monday Update - Headlines from last week 👇 ▪️LevelBlue, a large MSSP formerly a part of AT&T Cyber, has announced plans to acquire Cybereason. Their 2021 valuation was $3.1B but in 2023 they raised at a $300-400M valuation so a significant decrease from their peak! Acquisition valuation was not public. ▪️Two different acquisitions in the identity space with Imprivata acquiring Verosint and Nomios UK&I acquiring Intragen! Consolidation continues. It's interesting to look at the average annual return from newest cyber IPO’s to the oldest! U.S. SLTT organizations are working hard to strengthen their cybersecurity posture, even with limited resources. The MS-ISAC plays a critical role by giving under‑resourced communities access to threat intelligence, 24x7x365 U.S.-based SOC monitoring, and affordable tools that support operational resilience.
