Dena Bravata M.D., M.S. shared thisMany thanks to Jimmy Nesbitt and EBN for highlighting this valuable research. I fully agree that this is a critical moment for brokers and small-medium sized businesses to consider the widest possible range of strategies to control healthcare spending.Dena Bravata M.D., M.S. shared thisHealthcare costs are forcing small and midsize employers to rethink their benefits strategies. A new survey found 79% saw double-digit spending increases, while half are considering switching benefit brokers as they explore self-funding and other cost-control strategies. Always great to collaborate with Dena Bravata M.D., M.S. and Tobias Marton MD, PhD to bring important real world evidence into the public sphere!Dena Bravata M.D., M.S. reposted thisCongrats to the Mindful Health Solutions team for publishing this valuable real world evidence looking at utilization and outcomes of transcranial magnetic stimulation for patients with major depressive disorder. "This analysis contributes to the growing body of evidence demonstrating that TMS is an effective intervention for treatment resistant MDD. Despite the evidence of its efficacy as a depression therapy, utilization remains low, access is challenging, and health insurance coverage is restrictive. Facilitating wider adoption and earlier initiation of TMS for care of patients with MDD will lead to improved outcomes, provide the ability to compare these outcomes against those in UC, and holds promise for lowering the economic burden of depression." https://lnkd.in/e9A-Xa7U #RWE #healthoutcomesresearchUtilization and outcomes of transcranial magnetic stimulation and usual care for MDD in a large group psychiatric practice - BMC PsychiatryUtilization and outcomes of transcranial magnetic stimulation and usual care for MDD in a large group psychiatric practice - BMC Psychiatry

It’s not enough to point someone in the right direction, we have to make sure that direction leads somewhere excellent. Dena Bravata M.D., M.S. liked thisDena Bravata M.D., M.S. liked thisOur team at Headway spent the last year improving our EHR, building alongside the clinicians using it. As a practicing psychiatrist, I know first-hand what happens when a clinician’s administrative burden decreases. They can be more present with the patient in front of them, and focus on what actually matters: helping patients reach the goals that brought them into treatment. Unsurprisingly, when we asked our network what got in the way most, documentation was the number one answer. So we built Scribe, our AI note assistant, as an evolution of the AI-assisted notes we introduced last year. Clinicians can still draft a note from a short written summary, and now they can also have Scribe transcribe a Headway Telehealth session with patient consent and draft the note once it ends. Either way, the clinician decides how to work and stays in charge of the result. Choice matters as much as the time saved. Like the rest of our EHR, Scribe is free, optional, and available now to talk therapists on Headway. I wrote about how we went about improving our EHR over the past year on our blog: https://lnkd.in/g7PBsvKbA year of building the EHR mental health clinicians actually wanted | HeadwayA year of building the EHR mental health clinicians actually wanted | Headway

Dena Bravata M.D., M.S. liked thisDena Bravata M.D., M.S. liked thisFor health systems and specialty physicians committed to value-based care, the challenge has rarely been clinical capability. It has been getting patients into the right hands at the right time. When high-value specialty networks sit separate from everyday health plan workflows, care pathways fracture. Patients drift through fragmented systems, and top-tier providers only see them late in their care journey, if at all. Our partnership with Included Health fixes that referral friction. By embedding Carrum Health directly into Included Health's Alternative Health Plan, and serving as a preferred specialty care partner across their broader platform, we are connecting virtual primary care directly to our network of vetted specialists and health systems. When primary care clinicians and navigators can route complex cases straight to high-performing specialty providers from day one, care coordination improves dramatically. Patients receive guidance when they need it most, providers get the predictable volume and clinical alignment required to succeed in value-based arrangements, and more employers gain access to top-tier specialty care. Dena Bravata M.D., M.S. reacted on thisThank you, Sean Duffy, for your trust, your partnership, and the opportunity to lead Omada Health as its next CEO. I am honored and excited for what comes next. Our next chapter is about raising our ambition while maintaining the focus and disciplined execution that brought Omada to this point. To our customers, members, investors, and my colleagues across Omada: thank you for your confidence. I look forward to earning it every day as I continue my close partnership with Sean to build Omada’s future. Read Sean’s note on the announcement: https://lnkd.in/e76eVVr7Dena Bravata M.D., M.S. reacted on thisFounding a company teaches you to hold on to the mission, the standards, and sometimes simply to the belief that what you are building deserves to exist in the world. Building an enduring company requires something more: knowing when and how to evolve your own role so the company can become larger than any one person, including a founder. Today, I am proud to share that Wei-Li Shao will become CEO of Omada Health on January 1, 2027. After more than 15 years of leading Omada as CEO, I will become Founder and Executive Chair. This is the right decision at the right time for Omada, and one that the Board and I have approached with great care. Throughout this journey, I have tried to ask one question above all others: What does Omada need from me now? At different moments, building Omada called on me to be a product designer, fundraiser, recruiter, storyteller, operator, and public-company CEO. Each role pointed toward the same ultimate goal: to build a company that is still important 50 years from now. This transition is the next step toward that goal. Wei-Li joined Omada seven years ago. Since then, his responsibilities have expanded from commercial leadership to R&D and long-range planning. Each year, as we’ve given Wei-Li more, we’ve seen more success. He understands where healthcare is going, knows Omada inside and out, and brings the judgment, standards, and ambition our next chapter demands. He is ready to be CEO, and he will have my full support. I’ve always considered Wei-Li as my co-founder for Omada’s next chapter. Omada is making this transition from a position of strength. Now it is time to raise our ambition: from having served millions of people to serving tens of millions, and from proving that between-visit care works to helping define how it is delivered. As Founder and Executive Chair, I will focus on partnerships, innovation, and long-term opportunities that create enduring value for our members, customers, and shareholders. Wei-Li, congratulations. You have earned this opportunity, and I could not have greater confidence in you. The work of bending the curve is just getting started. Onward and upward. Dena Bravata M.D., M.S. reacted on thisDena Bravata M.D., M.S. reacted on thisThe renewal conversation has changed. Employers aren't just asking, "How much is my increase?" They're asking, "Why are we still buying healthcare this way?" Our ParetoHealth State of Healthcare Spend Report found that 79% of small and midsize employers experienced double digit increases in healthcare spend over the past year. That's not a trend. That's a broken system. If you're still making healthcare decisions off a spreadsheet, you're already losing. The lowest renewal isn't always the best strategy, especially when one catastrophic claim or one brutal renewal can erase every "savings" you thought you negotiated. The consultants who lead with strategy instead of spreadsheets will be the ones who win. Clinical trials have historically excluded the patients who need them most. That’s exactly what Dr. Hala Borno and the Trial Library team are making clinical trials a care option for every patient. Through How Women Invest Fund III, we’re proud to join SemperVirens VC, NEXT Ventures, Sanofi Ventures, Lux Capital, Civilization Ventures, Overwater Ventures and others in Trial Library’s $10M Series A. As an investor, I’m looking for companies that realign incentives across an entire system: patients, providers, payers, and biopharma. Pulse Feature: Addressing Gaps in the Healthcare System Through Value-Oriented Care As value-based care evolves, the real question is: how do we build models that serve the most vulnerable—while improving outcomes and bending the cost curve? In this Pulse conversation, Andrew Hayek (Co-Founder & CEO, Triple Aim Partners) shares with Sarah Healy how TAP builds health care services companies designed around the “Triple Aim”: improving population health, improving the experience of care, and reducing total cost. From home-based longitudinal care for frail seniors, to peer-led engagement for serious mental illness, to Medicaid primary care enablement—the throughline is clear: build organizations that are clinically grounded, operationally excellent, and deeply mission-driven. Key takeaways: ✅ Why “Triple Aim” thinking forces a system-level view of decisions and downstream consequences ✅ How value-oriented company building can address structural gaps across primary care, behavioral health, home care, hospice, and more ✅ What it means to design care models that work for patients, clinicians, and the system—especially for underserved populations 📖 Read the full Pulse article: https://lnkd.in/gFkDdBxU 📅 WHCBC 2026 (Wharton Health Care Business Conference) — Feb 26–27, 2026 | Philadelphia Theme: Health Care 2030: Preparing Systems, Policy, and People for the Next Decade 🎟️ Tickets: https://lnkd.in/e_UM-YBC 🌐 Event details: https://lnkd.in/eS-Mwe4R #WHCBC2026 #Wharton #HealthcareLeadership #ValueBasedCare #CareTransformation #HealthCareInnovation #PopulationHealth #PaymentModels #HealthEquity #PatientOutcomes #HealthCare2030

Major announcements included new AI assistants for patient communication and care navigation from athenahealth and b.well Connected Health, workflow automation tools from Luma Health and TigerConnect, and expanded virtual care platforms from Fabric and Wheel. Across the conference, vendors emphasized embedding AI agents directly into clinical systems, patient apps, and operational platforms to automate scheduling, care navigation, referrals, and clinical decision support. Transparency may be the quietest, most powerful reform in modern healthcare. ✅ The NSA requires clear cost-sharing disclosures to patients. ✅ It standardizes the dispute process for payers and providers. ✅ Over time, this data will inform fairer benchmarks for everyone. Expanded context: For decades, opaque pricing created friction, surprise, and mistrust. By publishing arbitration outcomes and baseline payment data, the NSA introduces accountability into a once-closed loop. This transparency compels more accurate contracting, better communication, and data-driven benchmarking. In a sector built on evidence-based care, evidence-based reimbursement is long overdue.

This week, in the second installment of my "Field Guide for Digital Health Founders,: I look at fragmentation as a defining feature of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem. 🦖 Bottom line: the U.S. healthcare “system” is a layered network of intersecting markets. 🌺 The absence of centralized design means local conditions exert disproportionate influence over what innovations get adopted, funded, or scaled. 🎯 Fragmentation runs all the way down, understanding that is how you identify opportunity. 👉 Link to article in comments. #DigitalHealth #USHealthcare #HealthTech #SystemsThinking
