📢 Upcoming Deadline for Owners and Suppliers of HVAC-R Equipment The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation amended 6 NYCRR Part 494, “Hydrofluorocarbon Standards and Reporting”, to address greenhouse gases in refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment. The regulation includes a Refrigerant Management Program (RMP) to control leakage from existing equipment as well as mandatory reporting for suppliers of regulated substances. Any entity that owns or operates covered equipment in New York State or that supplies such equipment or refrigerant may be required to register and report. The initial deadline for registration is June 1, 2025 and this applies to owners of large equipment containing more than 1500 pounds of refrigerant and to all manufacturers and distributors of HVAC-R equipment or refrigerant.   Information on the Part 494 regulation, including an FAQ and Fact Sheet are available at https://lnkd.in/e4WRUtSY. This is becoming more and more prevalent as we see the new energy stretch code applied in more municipalities. Construction is 90% renovation and only 10% new builds, so there are a lot of tired facades out there that need improved, sustainable insulation performance.

I would appreciate input from fellow Philadelphia building operators in regard to this notification from PHL Air Quality Management- "Effective May 6, 2025, Philadelphia Air Management Services (AMS) will only accept Air Quality Index (AQI) data from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) for the Southeast PA Region to demonstrate compliance with Air Management Regulation XV. AQI data from any other source, including AirNow, will no longer be accepted." Since data from the AirNow app is now longer acceptable, is there an app that provides AQI data from PADEP? Looking at the Southeast region on the PADEP website, it doesn't even list Philadelphia.
