Nathan Childers shared thisFP&A enables strategic decision making.Nathan Childers shared thisYour FP&A team produces dozens of reports — but when the board asks “what should we do next?”, the answer isn’t always clear. This is the gap we see most often: Finance is busy, reporting is polished, but insight isn’t consistently decision‑ready. At CFGI, our FP&A Advisory team helps CFOs and finance leaders close that gap by building FP&A capabilities that are actually tied to how the business runs and how leaders make decisions. That typically means: • Budgets and forecasts grounded in real business drivers — not static annual exercises • Cash and liquidity visibility leadership can trust, especially in periods of change • Board and management packages that support decisions, not just explanations • KPIs that connect financial performance to operational accountability • FP&A operating models that scale across PE‑backed, public, and private companies • AI‑enabled reporting and automation that improves speed and accuracy without replacing judgment The goal isn’t more output. It’s clearer insight, better conversations, and stronger alignment between management, finance, and investors. If improving how FP&A supports decision‑making is on your agenda this year, we’re always open to connecting. #FPandA #CFO #FinanceTransformation #AIinFinance #CFGI

Nathan Childers shared thisGreat insights into the opportunities, and risks, upon our industry.Nathan Childers shared thisEvery day there’s a new development in the tech world, below are some highlights I dove further into from this week. 🍎 Apple just handed the keys to a hardware engineer. John Ternus takes over as CEO on September 1. Tim Cook moves to executive chairman. At the exact moment AI is supposed to be redefining software, Apple bet on the person who builds the physical things. https://lnkd.in/eVmJhEd5 💰 Amazon just committed $100B to Anthropic's infrastructure over the next decade. Not to the model, to the infrastructure around it. Every enterprise leader debating "which AI vendor should we pick" is asking the wrong question. The model is becoming a commodity. The compute layer underneath it is not. https://lnkd.in/e-Rk-U4w 🔓 Vercel got breached through a browser extension an employee installed. One tool. Broad OAuth permissions. Full access to Google Workspace. We keep treating third-party AI tools like productivity software. Attackers are treating them like front doors. Until security governance catches up to AI adoption speed, this story will keep repeating with different company names. https://lnkd.in/ea6Q6Z42 🤖 AI agents are not a productivity problem. They are an identity and governance problem. Enterprises are deploying agents with no real access boundaries, no identity controls, and no accountability framework. The failure mode is not that agents will not work. It is that they will work exactly as deployed, with far more access than anyone intended. https://lnkd.in/ehTZ4aSq ⚠️ A 17-year-old Excel vulnerability is being actively exploited right now. CVE-2009-0238. CVSS 9.3. Legacy Office installs in 2026. No AI strategy survives contact with unpatched infrastructure. Modernization is not optional. It is the foundation everything else sits on. https://lnkd.in/eaR6MApC 📋 Atlassian is collecting Jira and Confluence data for AI training starting August 17. Most users cannot opt out. Your team's workflows, decisions, and institutional knowledge are becoming training data. That is worth a conversation with your legal and compliance teams before August. https://lnkd.in/eBQFjudv For me, I see that massive capital is flowing into AI infrastructure. Governance and security are not keeping pace and the organizations that will get the most out of this moment are the ones focussing on building the operational foundation now. What have you taken away from this week so far? __ #TechnologyLeadership #EnterpriseAI #CyberSecurity #AIGovernance #ThirdPartyRisk

Nathan Childers reposted thisNathan Childers reposted thisStarting today January 17, 2026, Nasdaq made #small-cap listings significantly harder. The public float minimum increased from $5M to $15M. But the bigger shift? Even if you meet the numbers, approval isn’t guaranteed. Under Rule IM-5101-3, Nasdaq can evaluate: • The track record of your auditors and bankers • Trading behavior of similar issuers • Governance quality • Market integrity risk Translation: credibility now matters as much as capital. The “go public and fix it later” approach is over. If you’re planning to list, you need: ✔ Institutional-grade financial reporting ✔ Strong internal controls ✔ The right advisors ✔ A governance framework that withstands scrutiny At CFGI , we’re helping companies treat #IPO and #deSPAC #readiness as a strategic build — not a filing exercise. Nathan Childers shared thisGreat perspective from a colleague in Singapore as we actively expand our presence in Asia Pacific. Come join us!Nathan Childers shared thisMany have asked why I chose to join CFGI, and what CFGI actually does. It is a fair question and often a difficult one to answer succinctly because CFGI’s service offering is intentionally broad yet sharply focused on outcomes. CFGI works alongside the Office of the CFO at critical moments. These include complex technical accounting matters, regulatory and reporting change, finance transformation, system implementations, IPO readiness, carve outs, and post transaction integration. The common thread is not a single service line, but a depth of technical rigour combined with hands on execution. A defining strength of CFGI is its people. The firm is built predominantly by professionals with Big 4 backgrounds. This matters. It means we speak the same technical language as finance leaders, auditors, and regulators. It also means we bring deep familiarity with accounting standards, audit expectations, and governance requirements, while operating with a far more agile and execution focused mindset. What ultimately drew me to CFGI was the clarity of its model. We are designed for finance leaders who need more than advice. They need technically strong partners who can exercise judgement, move quickly, and stay accountable through delivery. The firm combines senior level technical expertise with practical problem solving, without the layers or rigidity often associated with traditional models. In an environment where finance teams are expected to do more with greater speed, precision, and resilience, this approach is becoming essential rather than optional. If you are a finance leader navigating complexity, scaling your organisation, or facing a moment that truly matters, I would welcome a conversation. If you are curious about how CFGI supports the Office of the CFO globally and across Asia Pacific, feel free to reach out. Let us connect and exchange perspectives. #FinanceLeadership #OfficeOfTheCFO #AccountingAdvisory #TechnicalExcellence #Big4Experience #FinanceTransformation #IPOReadiness #ReportingAndCompliance #ERPTransformation #CFOAgenda #LeadershipJourney

Here's What We Heard at the recent Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) event: The recent ACG Atlanta Wine Social was more than just a great networking event. It was a real-time pulse check on the city's booming M&A landscape. And the consensus is clear: deal activity is on the upswing, particularly in the tech and healthcare sectors. With Atlanta's high-tech job sector outpacing the national average, fueled by innovation hubs like Georgia Tech’s Tech Square, major investments from institutions like Northside Hospital and Children's Hospital of Atlanta are further accelerating that momentum. Always proud to support the Atlanta business community during this exciting period of growth. A huge thank you to ACG Atlanta for bringing the city's leaders together.

The expansion will create 400 new jobs and increase the facility’s production capacity 50 percent. This new, digital manufacturing plant will offer online project status with a real-time view to customers; an apprenticeship program for technicians; and an automated warehouse to deliver material to point of use. It was a wonderful day for Georgia, Effingham County, our employees, customers and suppliers and the industry at large.

'Nontraditional defense contractors' vs 'Traditional'? No FAR Part 31? The FY 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) introduces some of the most significant federal acquisition reforms in decades. While these changes lessen compliance burdens for certain contractors, they do not eliminate the government’s expectation for disciplined accounting, internal controls, and cost visibility. Organizations that understand where compliance is truly optional versus where it remains essential will be best positioned to compete, price effectively, and protect margins. @Aprio This article outlines the NDAA provisions with the greatest impact on accounting and operations and explains how contractors can translate policy reform into practical and profitable execution. #GovCon #NDAA These thresholds are also outlined in Karly Clayton and David Nieburg article on FAR Updates in 2026.

DCAA just restructured. Your next audit will look very different. The Defense Contract Audit Agency announced major organizational changes in 2024. Here's what changed and why it matters to AEC firms: **What's New:** • Specialized audit teams aligned by product areas • Updated quality management systems • Surge capacity for faster audits • Heavier focus on incurred cost submissions **What This Means:** Audits will be more targeted and potentially faster. Auditors will have deeper expertise in specific areas. The bar for documentation just got higher. **Red Flags That Will Get Attention:** • Late or incomplete incurred cost submissions • Inconsistent indirect rate calculations • Poor compensation documentation • Weak audit trails for overhead pools **What AEC Firms Should Do Now:** 1. Review your incurred cost submission process 2. Document your indirect rate methodology 3. Strengthen payroll and overhead allocation records 4. Create audit-ready supporting schedules The firms that prepare now will breeze through audits. The ones that don't will face delays, questioned costs, and compliance headaches. DCAA's message is clear: they expect higher standards. Your financial systems need to match.
