Christian Lewis reposted thisHuge and important launch from Vega for Detection Skills, the open standard for everything after a detection fires. Agentic triage and investigation is written into the detection itself, where it can be written down, versioned, and shared like code. Check it out at https://lnkd.in/gJGa5UJd, and congrats Shay Sandler, Eli Rozen, Yonni Shelmerdine, and team!Christian Lewis reposted thisToday at Black Hat, we’re launching Detection Skills: the industry’s first open standard for AI reasoning in cyber defense. AI in the SOC has been a black box for too long. We believe the reasoning behind every alert triage and investigation decision should be authored by your engineers, transparent at every step, and shared across the community rather than locked inside a vendor. That’s what Detection Skills delivers. Write the judgment once, scale it for every alert. It’s open and community-driven from day one. Explore it at detectionskills.io, or find us at Booth #3452. Christian Lewis shared thisStrong points, Moudy. The core takeaway here is that treating autonomous AI agents like standard service accounts or containerized workloads represents a fundamental architecture and security gap. When an agent discovers a zero-day in a package registry proxy, escalates privileges, and harvests credentials, it proves that agentic systems can execute high-velocity lateral movement indistinguishable from an advanced threat actor. Security controls must adapt immediately: Identity Governance: Treat agentic runtimes as untrusted, high-risk Non-Human Identities (NHIs). Credential Lifecycle: Mandate short-lived, ephemeral, highly scoped credentials. Egress & Behavior: Enforce strict egress allowlisting and real-time trajectory monitoring.Christian Lewis shared thisThe scariest breach of the year wasn't run by a nation-state or a criminal crew. It was an AI model, taking a test. It escaped its sandbox, found a zero-day, and broke into another company to steal the answer key. The defenders won. Barely. And only because they'd already put AI on their own side. Here's what every security leader should take from the Hugging Face incident 👇

Christian Lewis reposted thisChristian Lewis reposted thisI am incredibly proud to share that EVOTEK has been recognized as one of the 2026 Best Places to Work in Southern California. This recognition means so much because it reflects what we have always believed: a company is only as strong as its people, its culture, and the purpose that brings everyone together. From day one, EVOTEK has been built on the idea that if we take care of our people, our people will take care of our customers, partners, and communities. This honor is a reflection of every EVOTEK employee who shows up each day with passion, care, resilience, and a commitment to something bigger than themselves. To our entire team a huge Thank You. Thank You for believing in the vision, for building a culture rooted in trust and service, and for continuing to make EVOTEK a place where people can grow, contribute, and belong. We have always said that culture is not something you put on a wall. It is something you live every day. Congratulations to the entire EVOTEK family. This recognition belongs to all of you 🙏 ❤️ #EVOTEK #BestPlacesToWork #Culture #Leadership #PeopleFirst #SouthernCalifornia

Christian Lewis reposted thisLove being apart of this organization. Evotek and Upwind, what an amazing partnership.Christian Lewis reposted thisLast night was one of those moments that reminds me why I love this city❤️ A walk-off win by Manny Machado. A packed house at Petco Park. Pure excitement from thousands of San Diego Padres fans. Then this morning the San Diego Padres sent over this photo, and right there behind one of the biggest moments of the game was our EVOTEK and Upwind Security sign. As a lifelong believer in San Diego, it’s pretty special to see the company we built represented during a moment like this. Not because of the sign itself, but because it represents the incredible employees, customers, partners, and community that have been part of the EVOTEK journey. Congratulations to the San Diego Padres on an unforgettable win, and thank you to our friends at Upwind Security for being great partners. Christian Lewis reposted thisWonderful night with incredible people. Looking forward to all the continued discussions.Christian Lewis reposted thisAI is no longer a conversation for the future. It’s a leadership conversation. Last night, EVOTEK had the opportunity to bring together an incredible group of technology leaders for an intimate dinner discussion on one of the biggest shifts happening across the enterprise: the AI inflection point. The conversation wasn’t about hype. It was about reality. How are organizations moving from experimentation to execution? How do leaders balance innovation with governance, risk, security, and operational readiness? And perhaps most importantly, how do we ensure AI becomes a business accelerator, not just another technology initiative? What stood out most was the openness of the discussion. Honest perspectives, practical challenges, shared experiences, and a willingness to think boldly about what comes next. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a thoughtful conversation. Grateful to collaborate with leaders who are not only embracing change, but helping shape what the future of the enterprise will look like. Excited for what’s ahead. #ArtificialIntelligence #EnterpriseAI #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #Leadership #FinancialServices #TechnologyLeadership #EVOTEK Matthew DeLuca Moudy Elbayadi, Ph.D. David Fetters Rachel Tucker Christian Lewis David Whyatt Brent Baccellia

“Christian is probably the friendliest IT person I have EVER met! He always has a smile on his face and an infectious laugh. During the time I worked with him at Apollo, he was 1 of 2 Principal Cloud Architects that I worked with. He was very instrumental in getting the project completed much faster than others would have, thanks to his people skills. He is highly technical when he needs to, but can also draw the big picture for executives. Working with everyday was a blast, since he pushed me beyond my comfort zone, but I was happy he did that. I have learnt a lot from him which I still use in my current role.”

The AWS US-EAST-1 outage on October 20, 2025, was not caused by BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) issues or router failures. Instead, the root cause was a DNS (Domain Name System) resolution failure within AWS's internal infrastructure. Specifically, a latent race condition in DynamoDB's automated DNS management system led to the creation of an empty DNS record for the DynamoDB endpoint in US-EAST-1. This failure prevented services from resolving the endpoint, causing a cascade of failures across multiple AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, and Network Load Balancers The Guardian+1 .

I spent years saying I knew AWS, and to be fair, I kind of did. EC2, RDS, S3, SES, Route53. Solid, reliable, familiar. They map cleanly to the way most of us already think about servers and databases. The wake up call came when I finally forced myself to build real workflows using SQS, SNS, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB. Not tutorials. Not demos. Actual production problems. That shift changed how I think about systems. Decoupling stopped being a buzzword. Failure stopped being an edge case. Scalability stopped being something I had to engineer manually. I realized I had been using AWS like a nicer data center, not like a platform. If you are a developer who feels comfortable in AWS but mostly lives in EC2 and RDS, this might resonate. There is a whole other mental model waiting once you lean into queues, events, and serverless patterns. Wrote more about it here if you are curious https://lnkd.in/gGjVJnpX Would love to hear if others had a similar moment where things finally clicked.

Amazon DCV 2025.0 is now available, and I couldn't be more proud of what our team built. 🚀 When I talk to customers running remote desktop infrastructure, three themes come up repeatedly: 1. Strong security needs to be frictionless 2. A "feel local" user experience matters more than flashy features 3. Infrastructure needs to support both modern hosts and diverse clients This release tackles all three: 🔐 WebAuthn Redirection Hardware security keys (YubiKey, Windows Hello) now work seamlessly in DCV sessions, across both Windows and Linux. Enterprise security without workflow friction. ⌨️ Input Reliability & Consistency Server-side keyboard layout support and scroll wheel optimizations. These might sound like details, but they eliminate daily frustration for global teams using remote desktops for hours at a time. 💻 Infrastructure Flexibility Windows Server 2025 support on the host side means you can run DCV on the latest enterprise infrastructure. Linux ARM client support means users can connect from more devices. The remote computing landscape is evolving rapidly. Organizations need solutions that are secure by default, provide a "feel local" experience, and are compatible with modern infrastructure on both ends. That's what we're building. Grateful to our engineering team for the execution and our customers for the partnership. What are you seeing in the remote desktop space? What challenges should we tackle next? Since May 2025, a novel credential stealer dubbed Maranhão Stealer has emerged as a significant threat to users of pirated gaming software. Distributed through deceptive websites hosting cracked launchers and cheats, the malware leverages cloud-hosted platforms to deliver trojanized installers that appear innocuous. Upon execution, the installer unpacks a Node.js–compiled binary encapsulated in an Inno Setup executable, initiating a silent infection process that avoids user detection while harvesting sensitive data. Vercel isn’t expensive. Your lack of visibility is. AI teams spin up edge functions. Deploy previews everywhere. ISR runs quietly. Middleware fires endlessly. Then finance opens the invoice and asks: “What the heck happened?” This isn’t a Vercel problem. It’s a governance problem. We just launched Vercel integration inside ToolSpend to expose the real cost drivers: • Edge CPU duration • Function execution time • ISR reads & writes • Execution units & middleware If you’re building AI-native products and don’t know what’s driving your infra bill… You don’t have a growth problem. You have a control problem. Time to fix it. toolspend.com #FinOps #Vercel #AIInfrastructure #SaaS #AIGovernance

Today with AWS CLI v2.30.3 we've introduced two identity specific enhancements for handling temporary credentials: 🚀 Temp credentials are now supported in the "aws configure" command. The command now prompts for aws_session_token when appropriate. Before you couldn't successfully setup temporary credentials for an IAM role by using "aws configure". This is useful to help setup credentials retrieved from assume-role or other commands that issue aws credentials temporary credentials so that's it's easy to use them with the AWS CLI, SDKs, or tools written using the SDKs. 🚀 New command added: "aws configure mfa-login". An interactive wrapper around aws sts get-session-token that handles MFA authentication with OTP-based authenticators. Previously you had to do some additional lifting or get some not-aws authored code to make using an OTP from the AWS CLI simple. #AWS #IAM
