Dan Lohmeyer shared thisAutodesk University 2026 reinforced for me just how much opportunity lies ahead for architecture, engineering, and construction. We are progressing toward a more connected and intelligent future for our customers: AI that works with the context of the drawing or model, data that moves more naturally across disciplines, stronger and more responsive models, and fewer of the manual handoffs that slow teams down today. What excites me most is the combination of innovation and practicality. We are exploring entirely new ways for AI to assist architects and engineers, while continuing to invest deeply in the core workflows our customers depend on every day. We are doing this alongside our customers. The conversations at AU were a strong reminder that the best innovation starts with understanding the real problems people are trying to solve. I captured some of the progress we shared at AU in the article below.AU2026 - Highlights for AutoCAD, Building, and Infrastructure SolutionsAU2026 - Highlights for AutoCAD, Building, and Infrastructure SolutionsDan Lohmeyer

Dan Lohmeyer shared thisAt AU 2026, we announced that Civil 3D will become the next Forma Connected Client. By connecting Civil 3D more deeply with the Forma Industry Cloud, we’re enabling civil engineers, transportation designers, planners, and architects to carry project context more consistently from early planning into detailed design—with reference-based interoperability across Forma, Revit, and Civil 3D, and more consistent geolocation across workflows. The goal is simple: reduce the need to rebuild information as projects advance, give teams better shared context across disciplines, and connect cloud-based planning with the detailed engineering capabilities customers rely on in Civil 3D today. https://lnkd.in/gcuArxV5

Dan Lohmeyer shared thisRevit as a Forma Connected Client is an important step in Autodesk’s AECO industry cloud strategy. The goal is simple: help teams work with more context, less friction, and better continuity from early design through detailed design. Forma is well suited for feasibility, site context, analysis, and schematic exploration. Revit remains essential for detailed design, documentation, and coordination around a shared model. Connecting the two gives customers a practical path toward cloud-connected, outcome-based workflows improving how they get work done. In the article below, I describe what customers can do today and how we see the relationship between Revit and Forma evolving. Dan Lohmeyer shared thisFor many AEC teams, Revit sits at the center of how projects get delivered: the standards, content, coordination, and detailed model work that teams depend on every day. That customer investment is important, and it is a big reason Carl Christensen and I wanted to have this conversation. There has been a lot of discussion about Autodesk Forma, Revit, and the future of building design. The most important point I hope comes through is that customers are not being asked to choose one over the other. Today, Revit remains central to detailed model authoring, coordination, and project delivery. And Autodesk will continue to invest in it. Forma gives teams new ways to work earlier in the process, so they can explore options, understand trade-offs, and carry more project context forward as the work moves into detailed design. The opportunity is to make the connection between early design and detailed project delivery feel much more fluid. This will happen over time, with flexibility for customers to choose the approach that best fits their work. Carl and I talk through what’s changing, what’s staying the same, and how we’re thinking about the path ahead. I hope it gives teams using Revit today a clearer view of where we’re headed, and why we’re excited about the future of building design. https://lnkd.in/gmUqYcQB #AutodeskForma #Revit #AEC #BIM #BuildingDesign

Dan Lohmeyer liked thisDan Lohmeyer liked thisSome personal news: I'm joining Intuit as SVP in the Global Business Solutions Group! Think about who Intuit's customers are. The person finishing their taxes late at night and hoping they got it right. The bakery owner making sure payroll clears so her team gets paid on Friday. The contractor who'd rather be on a job site than sorting through receipts. The couple with a baby trying to figure out if they can afford a home this year. None of them woke up excited to use software. They have something to get done, and they want it done right so they can get back to their lives. When the product works, they get time back and one less thing to worry about. When it doesn't, it costs them money and sleep. For a small business, a bad week with payroll or cash flow can be the difference between hiring someone and letting someone go. That's who I get to work for now, and I don't take it lightly. I've spent my career on the customer side of the business at Salesforce, Cisco, ServiceNow, and Veeam. The customers looked different at each stop, but the pattern never changed. Customers who succeed stay, grow with you, and bring their peers along. The companies that win long term care about the customer's result as much as the customer does. Millions of people trust Intuit with their money and their livelihood. That trust gets built in small moments, and it can slip away in them too. With AI changing what's possible every quarter, there's a real chance to make things simpler, catch problems before customers notice them, and help people make better decisions with their money. That's a big part of why I'm here. My first job is to listen. To customers, to the people who support them every day, and to the teams building the products. I'll be deep in the details over the next few months. Thank you to the Intuit senior leadership team for the confidence, and to everyone who made a call or wrote a note on my behalf. I owe you. Now, to work.

Dan Lohmeyer liked thisDan Lohmeyer liked thisOf everything we shared at #AU2026, one of the things I keep hearing a lot of excitement about is our new unified geolocation engine and new workflows that are made possible by Civil 3D and Revit becoming Autodesk Forma Connected Clients. And I get it. Customers have been asking us for a better way to keep their work aligned across products, so I’m thrilled to see solutions like this come to life. It means less time dealing with manual transforms and misaligned models, and a more consistent way for teams to work in the same real-world context. This is a big hurdle in cross-product collaboration, and I’m really glad we’re delivering it. Dan Lohmeyer liked thisDan Lohmeyer liked thisConstructAI is shutting down. The full post-mortem below for anyone building something hard in construction tech. 🎢 After 18 months, two viral launches, signed NDAs with Fortune 500 companies, and a product that turned 2D structural drawings into native Revit models, we ran out of cash before we could close our pre-seed round. We are winding down operations this month. ❓ The short version: construction tech doesn't raise like B2B SaaS or ecommerce or general AI tools. Generalist funds won't underwrite a core technology they can't evaluate, so a Contech round needs a vertically focused fund that understands the problem to lead, and the generalists follow. We spent four months in deep diligence with one of the most prestigious construction-focused funds in the world, with $325K committed and $1.6M in follower interest lined up behind their decision. At the last stage, they passed. Without a specialist lead, the followers don't convert, the round doesn't close, and we were out of cash. We had been running through August with no money in the bank, on the team's own effort, to give it every last chance. What was real: a patent-pending AI system that reads unstructured PDF drawings and outputs LOD 350 Revit models with rebar detailing. Columns and piles automation verified on video by a paying client at 77% and 82% time savings. 40+ active enterprise leads. A GC pilot in production. Two LinkedIn videos that reached 160K+ people organically and built the whole pipeline. To Fernando Maytorena EM, William Wong Garay Cristian Gómez Lázaro 🇵🇪 and Hector Rios: you built something nobody has fully solved yet, on a budget that should not have allowed it. Thank you ! To our investors at Latitud, BuenTrip Ventures, Worthit, B Venture Capital (BVC) our angels, and to the customers who ran pilots and security audits with a four-person startup: thank you very much ! The technology and the patent application are available. If you're in construction or AEC software and want to talk about them, my DMs are open. Now the part I think is worth your time. I wrote a post-mortem from the inside: 100% my own writing with zero AI tools at all. The timeline, every number I'm allowed to share, the primary cause, the five contributing causes, and what I'd do differently (See the link below). If you're a founder building something hard in a vertical market and raising a pre-seed right now, read it before your next investor meeting. And if you've been through this yourself, I'd like to hear what your version looks like.ConstructAI post-mortem: the human versionConstructAI post-mortem: the human versionPedro Neira Ferrand

Dan Lohmeyer liked thisDan Lohmeyer liked this8 years since my last Autodesk University. This one was worth the wait. Walking back into AU 2026 hit differently. It reminded me why I love this industry, and just how far our AEC customers have come in navigating change, adopting new technology, and pushing toward what's next. My #AU2026 centered around leading summits and events supporting our AEC customers, spanning transportation, federal, and ESPs. - On Day 0, our Global Transportation Summit filled the room with attendees from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Germany, England, Japan, Canada, Turkey, Morocco, the U.S., and beyond. The real magic happened in our breakout groups, where global owners and ESPs sat side by side and got honest about AI: where it's already earning trust, and where there's still work to do. Hearing that this was our best summit yet made every late night worth it. - It was an honor to celebrate and spend time in person with our CITE (Civil Infrastructure Technology Exchange) community. It's been amazing to see the growth of this group, run by our passionate customers Gil Cordle, Shelby L. Smith, Brian Jacob, P.E. & Tom. - On the federal side, I kicked things off with a coffee meetup for one of our federal civilian accounts and closed out at the Federal Summit, where the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Los Alamos National Laboratory shared how BIM and GIS are showing up in real federal projects. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and worked so hard to make all of this come to life for our customers: Juan M. Martinez, McKenzie Price, Ismaeel Babur, Guillaume Joubert, Fabiane Amorim, Coryn Mock (Connelly-Cabreros), Edmundo Herrera, M.S.,P.E., Rad Lazic, Tanmay Bhalerao, Stacey Morykin, Keith Warren, Nicola Waitz, Eamon Welch, Nico Pepia, Jennifer Marshall, Wes Newman, Jon Rittling, Kirk Divine, Max Blumenthal, Adam Jones, Tara Brice, David Marquez, Claudia Leger AU has a way of reminding you why the work matters. Leaving energized, grateful, and already looking forward to next year. #AutodeskUniversity #AU2026 #AEC #Transportation #Federal #AI

Dan Lohmeyer liked thisDan Lohmeyer liked thisMy last AU as an Autodesker was certainly a memorable one filled with candid conversations with customers, time with colleagues from across the company, and the chance to show the world where we’re headed. The progress our AEC teams have made this year has been remarkable, and I was proud to be able share that progress from the main stage. We’re connecting more and more AEC workflows through Autodesk Forma, bringing Civil 3D in alongside Revit as a Forma Connected Client, unifying geolocation workflows across products, and applying AI, particularly in construction, in ways that are grounded in the real context of a project. This more connected future is what makes project intelligence possible, and it has been years in the making (although some still seem surprised by what Autodesk Forma can already do!). I’m grateful for everyone who made so many of these AU moments possible, and excited to cheer on what these teams will build next. Dan Lohmeyer liked thisSo excited to have Lauren Poon demo some of our teams work on stage to over 12,000 customers... The tech is awesome and removing repetitive work no one wants to be doing. Happy to build it, and happier to have someone else present it so well.Dan Lohmeyer liked thisWhat makes room for design? Part of it is making exploration easier, so more ideas can be tried. The other part is handling the mechanics. The best tools disappear into that work, so you're thinking about what needs to get done not how you're going to do it. That's the aim behind the AI-powered capabilities and agentic workflows we showed on main stage at Autodesk University this year, in Forma Site Design and Revit. I was proud to share this work live and represent the teams building it. The demo gods were on my side... mostly :) The Revit AI-powered annotation capabilities take on the repetitive mechanics of documentation, and are now on our Preview Release. Try them out and let us know what you think. https://lnkd.in/gr_aKNvp https://lnkd.in/g_ESsYhi

The "agentic employee" is no longer a future concept—it is a modern workforce model in action. At Google Cloud, we see leaders moving past the question of if AI can augment people, toward a more consequential challenge: how do you redesign work when AI agents execute directly alongside your teams? Cognizant calls this the human-led, agent-operated model: • People bring judgment, strategy, and direction. • AI agents take on defined tasks and accelerate end-to-end workflows. • Together, they form a collaborative digital workforce. The results in practice speak for themselves: By deploying #Gemini and #GeminiEnterprise to ~20,000 associates, Cognizant is compressing project timelines that previously took 16–18 weeks into just days—automating up to 60%–70% of manual effort and freeing up teams for higher-value innovation. Speed and productivity gains are just the beginning. The organizations leading the next era aren't just deploying AI—they're redesigning how work gets done. Proud to partner with Cognizant to scale responsible, agentic AI across global enterprises. #GoogleCloud #GenerativeAI #FutureOfWork #EnterpriseAI

Many people often confuse Resiliency and Reliability, but they are not the same. The good news for Fastly customers is that they don’t need to be experts to understand this difference or Harvard grads. Fastly provides both Resiliency and Reliability, ensuring that customers receive the best of both worlds.

Your AI strategy isn't a tech problem. It’s a design problem. I’m seeing a massive shift in how we structure global delivery teams. We are moving away from "Human-to-Human" handoffs toward "Human-to-Agent" collaboration. I am seeing that the most successful leaders are those who treat AI agents like "Digital Associates." 1. Define precise guardrails: They know where the model starts and where the human expert must take over. 2. Audit the chain of thought: They don’t just look at the output; they ask the agent to explain its reasoning. 3. Focus on the "High-Value" solving: They free up their people to handle the complex, creative, and ambiguous solving that models consistently miss. The goal isn't a smaller team. It’s a team that spends 90% of its time on innovation and 0.1% on boilerplate. Are you currently restructuring your teams to accommodate AI agents, or are you still "bolting them on" to old processes? I'd love to hear your approach. #AILeadership #AIStrategy #GenAI #AIAgents #DigitalTransformation
