Camelback Resort has a car in today’s race thanks to the partnership with Snow Belt MGMT and SS Greenlight Racing. Driver Patrick Emerling’s fire suit was the best surprise! Race to Camelback this summer!

I was in great company with Jason Warren , recently promoted to Director of Aquatics, and Ty Quintois, an East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania Warrior who is doing a Marketing internship with us this summer.

During this Conference I completed my term as State Treasurer, I competed in Job Interview and placed first in the state, and after many hours of preparation and campaigning I was elected State President! I’m very excited to be leading Pennsylvania FBLA and representing over 13,000 students from across the commonwealth!!

Over the past three years, I have been incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent James Madison University and connect with prospective students and their families. Through this role, I developed strong communication and leadership skills while helping prospective students navigate one of the most important decisions in their lives. Student Ambassadors are also a volunteer tour organization. This has provided me the chance to give back to the community that has given me so much. It has been a privilege to share my perspective and contribute to such an exciting and meaningful moment for others.

Having the opportunity to work on a third EPIC project reinforces just how impactful real-world, client-driven learning can be. Programs like this go far beyond the classroom, giving students the chance to engage directly with organizations, navigate ambiguity, and develop solutions to complex, meaningful challenges. That kind of experience is difficult to replicate in a traditional academic setting. What stands out here is not just the final deliverable—a Financial Literacy Toolkit with real community impact—but the process behind it: collaboration across disciplines, critical thinking, and the ability to translate theory into practice. These are exactly the skills students need as they prepare to enter an increasingly dynamic and complex business environment. Experiences like the EPIC Challenge help bridge the gap between education and industry, equipping students with both the confidence and capability to tackle real business problems and seize emerging opportunities. Well done to everyone involved—this is the kind of work that truly makes a difference!David Makarsky liked thisThis semester, I had the opportunity to participate in the EPIC Challenge, where I worked alongside Members 1st Federal Credit Union on a real-world consulting project. I was honored to be selected for this experience by Dean Williams and faculty within the Business Management Department at East Stroudsburg University. As a member of Cohort A, our team developed a Financial Literacy Toolkit designed to support local school districts in the Poconos by educating high school students on key financial concepts. Throughout the eight-week program, I collaborated with a diverse team of six students, bringing together different perspectives and areas of study to create a well-rounded and practical solution. This experience strengthened my ability to work in a team setting, think critically, and apply classroom knowledge to real-world business challenges. It also provided valuable insight into organizational operations and client-focused problem solving. Going from the energy of New York to a quieter environment turned out to be one of the best decisions. ESU gave me hands-on opportunities, strong support, and real-world experience that helped me grow personally and professionally. It deepened my understanding of global tourism, culture, and hospitality, while pushing me outside my comfort zone.
