Dante Otero reacted on thisDante Otero reacted on thisIC roles no more. The role of individual contributor is disappearing. Everyone is managing a team of agents. (Or soon will be.) In my daily work, I have interactions with multiple Claude Cowork agents handling everything from prioritizing email to writing white papers, Claude Design helps me prepare collateral material, Claude Code to define product improvements informed by the code. We also have an OpenClaw instance with multiple sub-agents on Slack, Hermes-based agents for tasks and documentation, etc. All of these need very active management. They don't just "do the work for you". Yes, they can research and write a report, but their judgment is often questionable and their opinions are easily swayed. They can generate broadly appealing visual outputs, but they struggle with details. My vibe-coded pull requests definitely need engineers' 👀 My experience is that 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿-𝗲𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 who is in way over their head: they say yes to everything you throw their way, they hardly ever say "I don't know", they are occasionally brilliant and more frequently barely competent, but always willing to keep iterating and do better ... unless you hit the usage limit and have to wait until they recover.

After a wonderful 3 years at Canva working alongside an insanely talented team and building unforgettable memories, it feels surreal to be returning to the Google family. Stepping back into Google feels like coming home; reconnecting with familiar faces, re-engaging with old friends and colleagues, and jumping into exciting new challenges together. I’m so grateful for my time at Canva and everyone who made that chapter so special. Now, I’m ready for this next chapter and couldn't be happier to be back!

The energy in the room, packed with executives across multiple industries, was palpable. Conversations were flying. One of my favorite parts of the event was the CEO Roundtable moderated by Krishna Srinivasan, Executive Board Member / Global Managing Partner and amongst most tenured experts at Frost & Sullivan. Under his leadership, we discussed the impact of AI in our respective business. I may have spooked some CEOs 😱 when I shared what's coming in Physical AI. However, my message was that they should embrace AI, which may allow them to grow their capacity by 100X in ways that were previously unthinkable. Check the link in the comments below if you'd like to read the full writeup that Frost & Sullivan produced about 𝙄𝙣𝙊𝙧𝙗𝙞𝙩 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚. PS: I'm more of a t-shirt and sneakers person, but I had to dress up for the occasion. I felt like character in Casino Royale and kept wanting to introduce myself as "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦'𝘴 𝘛𝘰𝘯𝘪. 𝘗𝘦𝘴𝘛𝘰𝘯𝘪" but thought it was bit much.

Dante Otero liked thisDante Otero liked thisLast week, I turned in my Google badge after almost 9 years. I still remember my first week on Hire — surrounded by people smarter than me, convinced someone had made a hiring mistake. What I actually found was a team that taught me how great products get built, and that helping companies find great people is some of the most meaningful work there is. Sam Sorbo Berit Hoffmann Dmitri Krakovsky Bogomil Balkansky Grisel G. Sebastian Flores David Heyman Lauren P. Brandon Hiram Cota Brett Highley Ventsi T. Charles Hsieh Shane Hillers Then I did the scariest thing of my career at the time: I left the world I knew and jumped to the engineering side with Google Fi. New domain, new skills, new imposter syndrome. It became the greatest growth of my professional life — shipping things used by millions, celebrating Fi's 10th birthday with a team I love, and learning what it takes to build at scale. Aashish Sharma Esme Lutz Mauria Finley Brian Sun Will Harwood Dhwani Shah Karthik Lakshminarayanan Shishir Agrawal Alex Zheng Brahim Elbouchikhi Farhang Kassaei Jane H. Chelsea Derrick Conner Eric Sandoval Conrad Bassett-Bouchard Jon Reus Monique Vu Zheng Lu Jennifer L. Zaheer M. Stephanie Boudreau (She/Her) Pavel Baranyk Kersi Shroff and so many more I am probably forgetting. To everyone I worked with, learned from, laughed with, and occasionally debugged production with at 11pm — thank you. You made 9 years feel short. So why leave? Because there's a bet I can't stop thinking about, and the only way to make it is to put my founder hat back on. (Thanks Nicholas Clark for the push and Lukas Steiblys for the partnership). I'm building Endstate — helping teams finally see how work actually happens, and turning their best work into their standard. That's all I'll share for now. 🙂 If you're curious, building something yourself, or just want to catch up — my DMs are open. I'd love to hear from you. Here's to betting on yourself.

I hadn't been active outside of my job at Google on social media, and so I just started from scratch in the hopes that my career stories would garner interest. And you followed! I never went viral but I built this up myself with every post, article, event, and book. And I just hit 10K!!! I know that's nothing to some and huge to others, but what's important is that I'm proud of that number. Thanks to everyone who follows on this journey. Big fans of you :) #10K #longhaul #endurance

🎬 Throwback to last year’s PMM Leaders Summit Silicon Valley, where some of the sharpest minds in product marketing unpacked what it really takes to earn a seat at the table. In this clip, Katrina Wong (CMO, New Relic), Rahul Awasthy (VP Product Marketing, Docker), and Kimberley Zatlyn (VP Product Marketing, Handshake) dig into one of the biggest challenges PMMs face: persistent C-suite misconceptions. Too often, product marketing is viewed as a support function, brought in late for launch execution, rather than a strategic partner across the full product lifecycle. That gap leads to missed opportunities, especially when PMMs aren’t engaged early in development to shape positioning, pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy. A few standout takeaways: 👉 Product marketing belongs in the room from day one - not just at launch 👉 Pricing and packaging are strategic levers PMMs should actively help drive 👉 PMMs must balance big-picture strategy with operational realities (especially in smaller teams) 👉 Trust, visibility, and executive alignment are critical to influencing decisions - particularly in tougher economic climates 👉 Your impact grows when you clearly advocate for the value of product marketing If this resonates, you won’t want to miss what’s coming next. 📍 PMM Leaders Summit returns April 14 - bringing together senior product marketing leaders for another day of candid conversations, practical insights, and community. Grab your seat in the room 👉 https://lnkd.in/gpsVmZ83

John K. Waters explores how JFrog is tackling one of AI development’s biggest challenges: managing and securing AI-generated code. The company’s new platform, JFrog Fly, is designed for “agentic workflows,” automating repository setup, versioning, and integration with tools like GitHub Copilot and Anthropic’s Claude Code. Read how JFrog Fly aims to bridge the gap between AI coding and real-world deployment: https://lnkd.in/eJFJkjvD #AI #DevOps #SoftwareDevelopment #JFrog #AICoding
