This morning a threat actor got into the keyv repo, then cacheable, then ecto, then hundreds of packages. Some of them pull over 150 million weekly downloads. Huge credit to the Datadog Security Labs team, who had a full payload analysis and a live package list published while this was still actively spreading. That is an insanely fast turnaround. Edward Ferron shared thisThis is worth a read if you are serious about increasing deployment velocity with results you can trust!Edward Ferron shared thisWorth a read for anyone thinking seriously about where AI-assisted engineering earns real trust in production systems, not just demos. 🔗 [link in comments / below] Datadog engineering just published a detailed breakdown of migrating a critical system off a key-value model onto PostgreSQL using #Claude and Cursor , not by letting AI generate code autonomously, but pairing it with a test-driven process where the test suite decided if each change was correct. Results: 45-minute operations dropped to about a second, storage shrank up to 40x, database costs down 90%. What stood out most was the honesty about limits , AI didn't discover optimization patterns on its own, engineers had to write those first before the model could replicate them. The real unlock wasn't "AI wrote the code," it was the strength of the test suite that let the team trust what it wrote. Worth a read for anyone thinking seriously about where AI-assisted engineering earns real trust in production, not just demos. #Datadog #Observability #GCC #Monitoring
