I got nerd sniped into the "Rspec + Factories is slow" problem and took on the problem of "how can I make factories fast?". I ended up creating FixtureBot, a tool the compiles Ruby into fixture files that Rails can run quickly against Rspec, minitets, or whatever. The library is also a great example of how to create high quality code using AI like Claude Code. Turns out, if you set out to make quality software, AI will help deliver quality software. Sustained ~252–291 GiB/s of HBM memory throughput on H100s under decode load — essentially hitting the hardware roofline. This matters because HBM throughput, not FLOPs, is the real bottleneck in LLM inference. By keeping memory nearly fully saturated, I’ve unlocked far higher efficiency and throughput than standard engines. Every time a “deal” like Renalytix’s agreement with Tempus #AI is announced, executives seem oblivious to how it turns patient lives into mere bargaining chips while bragging about being first to market, saturating the industry, and cashing in on “innovation.” It isn’t just Renalytix and Tempus AI; this pattern of top-down dealmaking and mutual self-praise is infecting the entire sector. Companies like Carna Health and DeLorean Artificial Intelligence push for what amounts to “science fiction math” as the solution only at ground level, and the same basic human needs go unmet, and vital reforms gather dust. There is still no seamless integration of comprehensive mental health support for #CKD or #dialysis, no genuine access to true Medical Nutrition Therapy that could prevent decline instead of just treating numbers on a chart, and the bill of rights for kidney patients remains outdated and unenforced. As these companies race for market share, leaders congratulate each other for “unlocking data” and “increasing metrics.” In reality, they’re just perfecting reciprocal back-patting, unspoken quid pro quo, and revisionist storytelling Executives hide in their boardrooms, never facing the anguish endured each day by those supposedly at the heart of their work. They refuse to name or fix the exhaustion, system failures, and suffering that define the experience of families dealing with kidney disease. They still pretend that a new contract or another data-driven solution actually improves care while patients fall through the cracks—misdiagnosed, unsupported, and left alone to navigate the treacherous space between hope and despair. This is not a missed opportunity; it is the result of an industry culture that exploits the vulnerable, celebrates greed, and cultivates an insular, unaccountable rat race. CEOs and board members do not walk into clinics, do not answer patient coalitions, and never take responsibility for why even the most basic reforms in mental health, nutrition, or patient rights remain stalled while they aggressively cash their paychecks. What’s most telling is this: when patients—sidelined and deeply frustrated—muster enough courage to voice dissent in public forums, the executives and corporate players seldom acknowledge it where others can see. With 8th Wall winding down, it’s good to see players like GEENEE and Cory Grenier’s team stepping up with continuity support. For anyone currently looking for stable WebAR options, this might be a viable path to explore. Good to see parts of the ecosystem showing up. The team at innovation.rocks (now svarmony) did a few tests and early projects with GEENEE back in 2019, and we genuinely enjoyed working with their approach at the time. As a small proof point, here’s a short clip from those days — #WebAR tracking performing surprisingly well as shown during AWE in Vegas on a shiny, round-shaped Red Bull or Coca-Cola can.

Most early-stage founders in Israel know the struggle of applying for the Israel Innovation Authority’s Pre-Seed Grant. Applications often get stuck on the requirement to first show matching investment. We designed the EXPAND III program to remove that barrier. This cohort focuses on Physical AI, robotics, and simulation, areas where early development is expensive and time-sensitive. We’ve secured $300K in investment from Creations VC for each startup accepted into the program. If you’re selected, that investment can serve as your matching capital, helping secure an additional ≈$350K in non-dilutive IIA funding. We’re in an agentic race. And sometimes, things crash. New research from Cleanlab codifies that. AI agents in production are facing big challenges with infrastructure churn and reliability, and it’s impacting performance and satisfaction. I spoke to Cleanlab’s CEO and Co-founder, Curtis Northcutt, and there are poignant revelations in this data. The 5% of companies running AI in production are rebuilding their systems every 90 days or faster, and there are critical weaknesses in observability that are affecting performance. But don’t panic. In our conversation, we covered strategies that enterprises can take to achieve better outcomes. This is where Cleanlab delivers for brands like Amazon and Databricks, making AI agents safer by detecting and remediating critical issues. As CMS vendors and enterprises accelerate their AI ambitions, this report is a level-set, and an opportunity to assess the technologies and strategies at play. As Curtis says, tech is part of the recipe, but people are still the key to success. We’re meeting more manufacturers who invested in AI pilots that looked great in a slide deck but struggled in production. The ASX took a tumble last week. The AI hype cycle will rise and fall. But on the plant floor, the challenge is execution. Reliability. Edge cases. Lighting variation. Mechanical vibration. Operator behaviour. This is where theory meets reality. AI in industrial environments isn’t plug-and-play. It requires disciplined engineering, controlled data, structured integration, and accountability for uptime.
