Spoiler alert: It's not just about coding agents adding yet more features, it's about understanding the complexity of these cloud native systems we have built over the last decade and continue to expand. Reliability, security and quality, these matter more than any one feature and the complexity of understanding our interconnected infrastructure and services keep growing. Systems are more connected than ever and often the details of those connections are less understood. Loosely coupled systems are way more reliable, and sadly also harder to debug when something goes wrong. New research shows that 84% of organizations report rising cloud complexity, and for 69% of them, it’s already outpacing their operating model. AI can do more than just write code. We’ve been working on an agent to help with operations also, and today, we’re announcing the GA of the Azure Copilot Observability Agent. It pulls together signals across logs, metrics, traces, and infrastructure so you can follow what’s happening. It makes it faster to get from “something broke” to “here’s why” and “here’s what to do next. Leveraging the intelligence of the cloud and the experience of delivering reliable services at scale, it democratizes insights and makes continuous improvement easier than ever. Agentic operations means faster time to understand, time to mitigate and time to root cause for everyone. Across conversations this week, two shifts came through consistently: - Agents are becoming a core application pattern - Context is increasingly the differentiator for what works in production You can see this taking shape across Azure from multi-agent orchestration and application tooling to advances in data services like Azure Database for PostgreSQL, along with full-stack investments across our silicon, systems, and datacenters. A key theme is choice. Teams are building in different ways, and our focus is to give developers flexibility across models, tooling, and architectures so they can build and run these systems in production. As the world’s most powerful AI datacenter, it will bring together hundreds of thousands of GB200s into a single seamless cluster. And that’s why we’re scaling our GPU fleet faster than anyone else. Just last year, we added over 2 gigawatts of new capacity – roughly the output of 2 nuclear power plants. And today we’re going further, announcing the world's most powerful AI datacenter, located in southeastern Wisconsin. Fairwater is a seamless cluster of hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200s, connected by enough fiber to circle the Earth 4.5 times. It will deliver 10x the performance of the world’s fastest supercomputer today, enabling AI training and inference workloads at a level never before seen. For AI training workloads, you need compute at exponential scale. That’s why we designed the datacenter, GPU fleet, and network together as one integrated system. This ensures a single job can run from day 1 at exponential scale across thousands of GPUs. Fairwater uses a liquid-cooled closed-loop system for cooling GPUs that requires zero water for operations after construction. And we’re matching all of the energy that is consumed with renewable sources. And of course, it is just one of several similar sites we’re lighting up across our 70+ regions. We have multiple identical Fairwater datacenters under construction in other locations across the US, in addition to our AI infrastructure already deployed in over 100 datacenters around the world, powering model training, test-time compute, RL tuning, and real-time inference at global scale. Too often during times like this, people go with the current and only later wonder, how did we get here? With Fairwater, we're charting a new path: doing the hard engineering work, bringing compute, network, and storage into one highly scaled cluster, and designing closed-loop energy systems to meet real-world computing needs. And partnering with local communities to ensure it's thoughtfully done in a way that is sustainable, creates new jobs, and expands opportunity. Across markets, we covered how Microsoft is helping organizations move beyond experimentation with AI and apply it to reshape core business processes, modernize applications, and empower people at scale. This is not about point solutions. It is about rethinking how work gets done end to end, from developer productivity to customer experiences, using platforms teams can trust. That means AI systems built on secure, scalable cloud infrastructure, deeply integrated with data, and engineered to operate reliably in production. Customers are no longer asking whether AI will transform their business. They are asking how to do it responsibly, securely, and in a way that delivers real, measurable value. Today we launched Maia 200, our next-generation AI accelerator chip. Maia 200 is an AI inference powerhouse: the most performant first‑party silicon from any hyperscaler, with three times the FP4 performance of Amazon’s third‑generation Trainium and FP8 performance above Google’s seventh‑generation TPU. It’s also the most efficient inference system we’ve ever deployed, delivering 30% better performance per dollar than the latest hardware in our fleet. Already running in our Iowa datacenter with impressive throughput, Maia 200 is accelerating today’s multimodal, multicall AI workloads with faster inference and higher output at scale. Most of you think of OpenAI as a pure software play. But what most of you don't know: they launched a consulting arm this summer with $10M minimum engagements. This embeds engineers directly into client organizations. So even the company that created ChatGPT can't just sell technology. They need humans to make it actually work. Think about that!! Guys, the most successful AI company in the world just admitted that software without implementation is worthless. This creates MASSIVE opportunity for builders like us. While OpenAI burns billions trying to figure out how to deliver value, businesses are desperate for working solutions right now. They don't want access to APIs. They want apps that solve problems. We've been doing this the whole time: taking technology and turning it into real business value. Speed wins. Results win. 🚀

I’ve been reflecting on the growing number of AI subscriptions many of us now pay for. Whether it’s ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity, or another platform, limits seem to tighten, quotas change, context windows evolve, and premium capabilities move into higher-priced tiers. This raises an interesting question. Are we subscribing to an AI product, or are we subscribing to a constantly changing level of access? Historically, software subscriptions were relatively simple. Pay a monthly fee and receive a defined set of capabilities. With AI, the model is different. Providers are balancing significant compute costs, rapid innovation, and growing demand. As a result, the service we receive today may not be identical to the service we receive six months from now, even on the same subscription plan. The challenge is not just about cost. It’s about confidence in the results. There are two forms of trust that matter: 1. Can I trust the response? 2. Can I trust that the capability I rely on today will still be available tomorrow under the same commercial arrangement? So the conversation is gradually shifting from: “Which AI is best?” to “Which AI can I confidently build my work around?” We would also be wise to remember that AI is a tool and and we should check we are using the right tool for the job as well, but if the tool is always changing then the more likely you are to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut which carries sustainability implications at scale. The scoreboard systems for TokenMaxxing are finally being removed with recognition that they have gone too far the other way with gamification, with Microsoft also taking steps to remedy how AI is utilised. https://lnkd.in/e4MrCxMJ

Amazon DCV 2025.0 is now available, and I couldn't be more proud of what our team built. 🚀 When I talk to customers running remote desktop infrastructure, three themes come up repeatedly: 1. Strong security needs to be frictionless 2. A "feel local" user experience matters more than flashy features 3. Infrastructure needs to support both modern hosts and diverse clients This release tackles all three: 🔐 WebAuthn Redirection Hardware security keys (YubiKey, Windows Hello) now work seamlessly in DCV sessions, across both Windows and Linux. Enterprise security without workflow friction. ⌨️ Input Reliability & Consistency Server-side keyboard layout support and scroll wheel optimizations. These might sound like details, but they eliminate daily frustration for global teams using remote desktops for hours at a time. 💻 Infrastructure Flexibility Windows Server 2025 support on the host side means you can run DCV on the latest enterprise infrastructure. Linux ARM client support means users can connect from more devices. The remote computing landscape is evolving rapidly. Organizations need solutions that are secure by default, provide a "feel local" experience, and are compatible with modern infrastructure on both ends. That's what we're building.
