Joe Addeo shared thisTips for avoiding major cloud outages: - Remove single points of failure - Architect for multi-region / multi-cloudJoe Addeo shared thisI feel so bad for the small businesses in the neighborhood that couldn't accept non-cash payments because many layers down the stack a DNS issue impacted DynamoDB in Virginia. Unfortunately DynamoDB is almost never used alone.. . it typically powers a specific part of an application along with many other services. An outage like this takes down the rest of the application with it. And when you start layering in dependent services that can take down other applications too... It's a reminder that everything is now interconnected. Do what you can to remove single points of failure and unnecessary complexity. Have cash. And simplify onto a distributed database built for multi-cloud if you can.

At Rutgers HackHERS in New Brunswick, New Jersey, 200+ students from local colleges came together for a women-focused hackathon, turning bold ideas into real-world solutions and showcasing incredible creativity. In Hoboken, Stevens Institute of Technology’s QuackHacks brought together another 200+ students for a weekend of building, creativity and collaboration. Both events featured hands-on workshops led by ADP volunteers, opportunities for students to create practical applications, and a strong sense of community. It was incredible to see so many innovative ideas come to life! #ADPLife #ADPTech

And somehow, the moment that stayed with me most was a pool cleaner who built an app, with AI, over a weekend that solved routing, chemical delivery, and scheduling for a market too small for any VC to care about. That is HumanX 2026 in one image. Grateful to ADP for sending me. This is exactly the kind of signal that sharpens how we think about what we are building and where the real opportunities are. San Francisco right now is something else. You can feel it walking the streets, sitting in the sessions, and especially visiting the startup offices. The density of people actively building the next layer of AI in this city is unlike anywhere else. We visited a few startups that we are partnering with, and what you feel inside those offices is not hype. It is urgency. The founders are not asking whether this works. They are asking how fast they can get it to the people who need it. The gap between those teams and the enterprise calendar is the most important signal I am bringing back. A few other things I brought home: The agent era is not coming. It is here. Denis Yarats put it simply: the frontier is not model capability anymore. It is evaluation. Who can validate what the agent does is the real competitive advantage. Work execution is replacing software. Matt Garman said it at AWS. Eoghan McCabe said it at Intercom. Shishir Mehrotra said it at Superhuman. The market for doing the work is larger than the market for software that facilitates it. That is a category shift, not a product update. Autonomy at scale is an orchestration problem. Stanley Tang showed how DoorDash built the platform layer across drones, sidewalk robots, and human dashers. The hard part was never the technology. It was the fleet, the edge cases, and the data that only comes from operating at real scale. AI fluency has to be economically rational, not mandated. Eric Glyman made this concrete at Ramp. Sales reps who adopted AI closed more deals. Their colleagues noticed. The conversation spread on its own. No policy needed. One year projects are becoming two week projects. Uber's CTO shared a policy hydration effort estimated at a year, finished in two weeks with agentic workflows. That is not an edge case. That is the new baseline for teams that have made the shift. The organizations that will define the next decade are not the ones waiting for certainty. They are the ones that took the discomfort of not knowing and used it as a reason to move.
