Jonathan S. shared thisA year ago project44 launched its intelligent TMS. Within a year we’ve been named a leader by G2. A truly monumental achievement for the team and a testament to where context-fueled AI can have massive value to building reliable systems of action. Congratulations Ilias Pagonis Ankush Jindal Bernardo Ramalho Michelle Brunak and team! And we are just getting started. Jett McCandless Rick Turco Mark Strassman Brian Cooper Jennifer Coyne Vinay Mathur Autumn Schultz Nick Douglas Ellie Hughes (Crist) Arunkumar Rajamanickam Karthik Somasundaram Tom PerroneJonathan S. shared thisCustomers just named project44’s Intelligent TMS a Leader in G2's Fall 2026 Enterprise TMS Grid Report, earning this spot on its first appearance in the category. Intelligent TMS also earned Leader status in six additional TMS reports including Mid-Market, Overall, Momentum, and three Regional Grids. "Our partnership with project44 has played an important role in helping Tailored Brands build a more connected and visible supply chain," said Jamie Bragg, EVP and Chief Supply Chain Officer at Tailored Brands. G2 evaluated iTMS on two dimensions: market presence and customer satisfaction. iTMS customers can achieve a 4% reduction in freight costs and a 17% increase in on-time delivery.

Jonathan S. shared thisLora Cecere is among the most forward thinking supply chain operators and strategists in the world. We’ve had a lot of fun digging in on concepts over the last year with her at project44. Her latest piece on outside-in planning, a concept she’s been pushing for a long time now, now has our powerful context graph to back it up. Very much worth the read. Here’s to continuing to push the industry forward together Lora Cecere.

To quote Mark Cuban: “Zidar and Zwick show that the American Dream isn’t dead but rewards those who work hard, build skills deliberately, and recognize opportunity where others don’t." Jonathan S. shared thisProud of the collective project44 and adidas teams for this deployment. Outside-in signal being used to fundamentally rethink lead time variability. This is the future of planning and execution in the supply chain and a case study of what real partnership looks like...and we're just getting started! Edoardo Campigotto Dominic Erdtmann Jett McCandless Rick Turco Mark Strassman Prasad Aswale Ellie Hughes (Crist) Jose Mathew Lauren Fitzpatrick Aravind Manoj Birju S.Jonathan S. shared thisDisruption in the Strait of Hormuz is no longer a scenario. It is an operational constraint. And with rising geopolitical volatility and extreme weather patterns, this is only the beginning. “Can we identify every impacted shipment in real time?” “Can we quantify the impact on flow, lead times, and in-transit inventory?” “Can we simulate alternatives before the network is hit?” For a global company like adidas, operating 60+ distribution centers and serving 160 markets with €5Bn+ inventory across the global supply chain, these questions define logistics resilience. In June, adidas went live with the Project44 Movement platform across all global inbound ocean flows. What matters most is not the technology itself, but the shift in decision making it enables. As global Project Manager, I led the E2E implementation, from business case and SLT alignment through execution to global go-live. A key milestone was presenting the solution to multiple global Supply Chain functions and the adidas SCM Senior Leadership Team, demonstrating how enhanced visibility translates into faster, better operational decisions across the network. This required clear prioritization, rapid decision making, strong leadership alignment and close collaboration across Global Logistics, Tech, Procurement, Advanced Analytics, logistics partners and Project44. With the platform now live, we have materially improved visibility of inbound flows enabling earlier disruption detection, proactive scenario planning, and faster response times when it matters most. Next focus: accelerating market adoption and scaling new use cases to unlock further value across the global network. A sincere thank you to everyone involved in making this happen Benedikt Birner, MBA Sridhar Bhargav Timo Altstadt Dominic Erdtmann On to the next challenge. #adidas #GlobalLogistics #SupplyChain #Logistics #Project44 #DigitalTransformation

Jonathan S. shared thisRichard Dulude breaks down the criticality of context moats in the age of AI. The collective context of project44's network and the semantic layer being built with it is one of the most exciting things happening in vertical AI right now. It's great to see that thesis validated by one of the smartest investors and genuinely good humans out there. Jett McCandless Brian Cooper Rick Turco Jennifer Coyne Mark Strassman Arunkumar Rajamanickam Karthik Somasundaram Sony Karivelithara Nick Douglas Ellie Hughes (Crist) Michelle Brunak Nick Ruggiero Nimrit Vest Jose Mathew Lauren Fitzpatrick Birju S.Jonathan S. shared thisMost companies think they have a context moat. Most are wrong. They have data — sometimes a lot of it — but most of what they're calling a moat is one customer's instance of information that every competitor could have their own version of. That's not a moat. I've been mapping what context actually is, and what makes some kinds dramatically more defensible than others. It turns out there are distinct types, separated by three properties: who else can access it, whether it compounds with use, and what replication would cost in dollars and years. The 15-slide framework is below. Curious where you'd score your own company.

It’s truly humbling when the largest companies in the world congratulate you for showing them that the art of the possible has arrived. Over the last 2 weeks we have heard that over and over. Context-fueled, semantics-rich, and trusted AI that is changing our customers operations. Today. And it’s not accidental. It’s a testament to the capabilities that project44 can uniquely bring to the enterprise AI journey. But above all, it speaks to the tenacity, creativity, and customer obsession coming from our team. Jonathan S. reacted on thisJonathan S. reacted on thisLast week, we announced that Standard Metrics raised a $20M Series B led by 8VC. I first met the team at 8VC back in early 2020 when I was still an investor, and we had immediate vision alignment around how software would transform the private markets in the decade to come. The team at 8VC had experienced similar challenges around portfolio management as I had at Spark, and they built their own internal system. That system ended up turning into a company called Quaestor, which we renamed to Standard Metrics in 2022. We grew that idea into a real platform, closed our Series A, and kept building. Then two years ago, AI made a bet obvious to us that wasn't obvious to everyone: portfolio management needed an AI-native rebuild. So that's what we did. Last week, that bet got a lot more fuel behind it. We've grown 20X since our Series A, and we now support over 10,000 portfolio companies and 150 firms managing more than $400B in AUM on our platform. I'm incredibly grateful to our amazing team that has worked hard through market booms and busts to take us to where we are today. I'll share a link to our blog post in the comments. Please reach out if this resonates with you, or if you want to talk about how the private markets will continue to evolve with AI in the years to come.

Jonathan S. liked thisJonathan S. liked thisA year ago, project44 launched "Intelligent TMS". This week, G2 named it as a Leader. Numbers like that don't happen by accident. They happen because a team shows up, owns the outcome, and keeps shipping. Since TMS ownership moved to India time 2.5 years ago, our team has delivered 25+ features into this platform — not just executing tickets, but genuinely building and owning the product. Huge credit to the engineering team — Satyam Poddar Anirudh Mishra Vivek Gude Aibhinav Upadhyay @kshitij @Ritika, @Vishwath Rakhi Keshri — for the depth of ownership and the relentless execution that got us here. Proud doesn't quite cover how I feel watching this team grow into what it has become. #Engineering #TMS #project44 #TeamWork https://lnkd.in/p/g9EhixJs

Jonathan S. liked thisJonathan S. liked thisSo excited to share that Owner.com has closed a $240M Series D led by Goldman Sachs, reaching a $2.3B valuation. Everyone is debating how many jobs AI can cut. That’s why it has been so motivating to spend every day asking a very different question: how we can use AI to help independent business owners grow and create jobs? I eat at Ashley’s Cafe (pictured) multiple times a week, and seeing the impact of our technology on Ashley’s business has been pure joy. It’s a front-row-seat to a movement that Owner is building - over 100 million guests that we’ve been able to bring to small businesses across the country. I really believe local business owners are the most inspiring people on earth, and it’s a privilege to build for them. Today we celebrate a fun milestone, and then we get right back to building for these amazing entrepreneurs. If you want to come build AI for (not against) people - we’re hiring. Jonathan S. liked thisJonathan S. liked thisStandard Metrics has raised a $20M Series B led by 8VC, with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Spark Capital and others. A notable detail: the company says most of the roughly $50M it has raised to date has come from its own customers. Standard Metrics builds an AI-powered platform that helps venture capital and private equity firms manage and report on their investment portfolios replacing the spreadsheets, email threads and PDFs these firms have long relied on. It automates data collection, reporting, benchmarking and analysis, giving investors a single source of truth on how their portfolios are performing. The company says it now supports over 150 investment firms managing more than $400B, along with 10,000+ of their portfolio companies, and has grown around 20x since its Series A. It plans to use the funds to deepen its AI reporting and analytics tools. Standard Metrics was founded in 2020 by John Melas-Kyriazi, Kevin Hsu, and Deny Khoung. Now led by John & Deny. The hardest companies to build are often the ones the world needs most. Resilience Tech—spanning hardware, software, deep tech, and infrastructure—demands more than just great ideas. The real test isn’t proving the technology works—it’s building it into a company that can scale and last. At B Capital, Karly Wentz and I distilled what we’ve learned into a 10-factor framework for growth investing in this space. It’s how we separate promising pilots from companies that can scale into lasting platforms. Our conviction: the companies that matter most over the next decade will be those that fuse breakthrough science with business fundamentals—and deliver measurable resilience at scale. What’s old is new. Funny to watch VCs flood back to out-of-favor business models—hardware-enabled software, marketplaces, consumer tech—which are now viewed as more defensible because AI can't easily replicate physical infrastructure, network effects, or brand.

An emerging VC manager's fundraising lessons... the first two funds are a grind. Now, we’re on our third fund, it feels like we’re almost over the hump, but fundraising never gets easy for most of us. I want to congratulate the emerging VC firms presenting at this year’s RAISE Global conference. As former RAISE presenters, and (soon-to-graduate) emerging managers, we thought we’d share this LP Translator, a lighthearted guide to decoding what LPs really mean during the fundraising process. Fellow GPs, which ones did I miss? 👇 The LP Translator 📣 "Let’s stay in touch.” Translation: We’re not interested. “We want to see your track record develop.” Translation: Either we don't believe in your strategy, or we’re focused on managers with more buzz. “We’re not allocating to new managers right now.” Translation: We’re not allocating to you right now. "Show us your deals so we can get to know you.” Translation: We’d like free co-invests if you get something hot. “We need to see more DPI before we commit.” Translation: We don’t really understand VC, but we’re pretending to. “We’re fully allocated for this year; check in early next year.” Translation: Next year we’ll still be fully allocated (just not to you). “Call us before final close.” Translation: I’m too polite to say no at this time, so I’m kicking the can down the road. “Your fund is too small.” Translation: Okay, that one might actually be true (for some LPs). “We went through your data room and want to meet face-to-face.” Translation: We’re genuinely interested, keep going! “Can you send us your LPA for signature?” Translation: Let’s go! 🚀 -------------------------- Fundraising is a long game, longer than we ever expected. We're now seeing how LP relationships are built across several funds, not several months. If they’re investing time to learn about you and your strategy, that’s your best signal of real interest. #emergingmanager #venturecapital #LP #RAISEGLOBAL

Two weeks ago on Swimming with Allocators, we sat down with David Clark, CIO at VenCap, to talk about what decades of venture data can teach allocators. One takeaway that stood out: discounts don’t matter as much as people think in venture secondaries. Because venture is such a power-law asset class, outcomes are driven by exposure to a few massive winners. Whether a stake is bought at a small discount, or even a premium, often matters far less than the quality of the underlying company and its upside. Great conversation on venture returns, manager selection, and the nuances of how allocators should think about secondary investments. 👇 Link in the comments.
