Our London launch reflects a disciplined global growth strategy, expanding physical retail in markets where customer demand, brand positioning, and opportunity align for Janie and Jack and HATCH. Proud to recognize the leadership teams that helped bring this vision to life, including @Parnell Eagle, @Mo Beig, @Danielle Lafleur, @Dean Silbersack, @Ariane Goldman, @John Walton, and @Dana Todorovic. Jeff Streader shared thisDebra — thank you. This is such an insightful post. I love how you articulated how the definition of a “store” is being reimagined in the age of AI and modern retail. But it also raises an important question for those of us still operating physical boxes — are stores only for branding and customer experience? I believe physical spaces must deliver both experience and economics. They are powerful brand stages, but they also need to drive productivity and profitability. That balance between emotional connection and commercial performance is what separates great modern retail from theater. Thank you for this reminder — and for framing the conversation in such a compelling, forward-looking way. Curious how others in retail are thinking about this balance today. Parnell Eagle Danielle Lafleur Mo Beig Dean Silbersack Sandy Smith Ariane Goldman Tisha ChaseJeff Streader shared thisAfter my last post, I started obsessing about the word "store" and what it means for brands and retailers today. The word comes from storage, inventory, distribution: products stored, then sold. This made sense when physical spaces existed to provide access to things. But that model is fading fast, and sticking with "store" limits how we imagine what these spaces could become. AI agents are taking over the transactional layer faster than anyone expected. They can already handle price comparison, product search, availability checking, inventory optimization, fulfillment, logistics, and returns, and they keep learning on the job. As a result, the entire storage-and-distribution model at the core of the "store" is becoming algorithmic. So what's left for a physical space to do? Turns out, a lot: Experience, emotion, community, identity, belonging. Everything retailers have in recent years tried to retrofit into a "store" but so far rarely delivered consistently. Data supports a refocus on the real world. 81% of Gen Z wish they could disconnect from digital devices more easily and 86% say touching products is essential (Harris Poll). Gen Alpha seeks offline inspiration through live events and tangible experiences, woven together with their digital lives. Gen Beta will probably be similar. It's not about giving up digital; it's about creating spaces where online and offline merge seamlessly, and customers are delighted in new and exciting ways. The problem is that when we call a space a "store," we stay grounded in the old model. KPIs focus on sales per square foot. Teams optimize for transactions instead of engagement. Spaces get designed for product display rather than human connection. The word keeps us focused on "storing and selling" when the opportunity is "gathering and belonging". In the agentic retail era, physical spaces of all kinds become performance venues: Brand stages where values are lived, not just displayed, and gathering grounds where communities form. New interfaces will bridge digital and real-world engagement, and capture rich data around emotional resonance and behavior to feed back into experiences and products so we ensure ongoing relevance. AI will optimize transactions. Humans will reinvent gathering. But only if we stop using words that anchor us to the past. Would love thoughts from some of our retail gurus: Jonathan Price, Greg Merrill, Chris Igwe, Kate Sheldon 🕊 CEO The Fashioneering Lab Susie Calvert Nick Reasner Steve Dennis Jeff Streader Michael Gilson Rebecca Morter Georgios Athanassiadis and Hugo Hanselmann (thank you for being a sounding board!) Jeff Streader liked thisJeff Streader liked thisIt was my first time inside the United Nations. I didn’t expect the conversation there to sound so much like the one I have every day about brands. Invited by the UN Office for Partnerships for its Fashion and Lifestyle Network — 400+ members, 130+ countries — I sat in a room treating desire itself as infrastructure worth governing. Not a pledge board. A working group on what the industry teaches people to want. The detail that stayed with me: UN guides now wear uniforms designed by Swedish textile students. Sustainability, coded as something you’d actually want to wear. And it isn’t just that room. Anne Klein built its modern identity on its founder’s line — “Clothes won’t change the world. The women who wear them will.” G-Star made the world’s first Gold-certified sustainable denim, then open-sourced it for competitors to copy. Leadership as setting the standard, not guarding it. That’s the real shift: the responsible choice becoming the aspirational one. Desire was never the problem. What we teach people to desire is the whole game.

Jeff Streader liked thisJeff Streader liked thisI went on a podcast to say something I believe and rarely get to say this plainly: burnout is not a personal failing. My episode of The Woman Behind the Win is live, and it's the fullest I've gotten to talk about why I do this work. We treat burnout like a self-care problem. Sleep more, set a boundary, download the app. But what was shared about burnout in my doctoral research wasn't about individual habits. It was structural. People inside systems that ask more than any human can sustain, then handed a wellness webinar as the fix. Four years ago I left a 20-year corporate career to chase this question. The reframe that got me out the door: I stopped thinking of myself as an earner and started thinking of myself as a contributor. A cousin once told me to "make the dash count," the line between the two dates. That's the work now. We got into all of it. The always-on economy, the research behind it, and what it actually takes to reverse burnout instead of managing it. If you've ever felt like the problem was you, this one's worth a listen. Link in the comments. What's one thing your workplace calls "wellbeing" that's really just asking you to cope better? Jeff Streader liked thisSometimes, the biggest blessing is not the achievement itself .. it’s the people who celebrate it with you. Having a team that genuinely celebrates you, your progress, and your small wins before the big ones is something very special. I feel grateful to be surrounded by people who truly care and make every little achievement feel worth celebrating. A special thank you to Ebtisam Alhamdan for always celebrating me and making every little win feel even more special! The people you have around you can make the whole journey so much more meaningful.

Jeff Streader liked thisJeff Streader liked thisSport doesn’t just inspire fashion—it shapes culture. Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking at The Moore Miami Longevity Clinic, alongside Fashinnovation, about the intersection of fashion, sport, and culture. Throughout my career designing brands from Tommy Hilfiger to FILA GLOBAL, my own luxury label Ginny H, and building The Messi Brand, one lesson has become increasingly clear: The most enduring fashion icons weren’t designed for fashion. They were designed for sport. The polo shirt. The rugby shirt. The track jacket. The bomber. The sneaker. The tennis dress. The Harrington jacket. Each started with purpose before becoming symbols of style, identity, and culture. That was the focus of my conversation at The Moore. We explored how sport, music, fashion, and culture continually influence one another—and why the strongest brands don’t chase trends. They return to their authentic DNA, respect their heritage, and reinterpret it for a new generation. One of the themes that resonated throughout the evening was longevity—not just in health and wellness, but in brands, creativity, and careers. The qualities that create longevity are remarkably similar: authenticity, resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to keep evolving. As I prepared this presentation, I realized something that brought my career full circle. Nearly every collection I’ve designed—whether inspired by tennis, rugby, motorsport, sailing, soccer or football—was rooted in the authenticity of sport. It reminded me of the thought I chose to end my presentation with… Life is a sport. It requires discipline, focus, resilience and courage. A heartfelt thank you to The Moore Miami, Rich Santelises , @Erika Lauren, Marcelo Guimaraes, KAROLINA KURKOVA and FASHINNOVATION for bringing together such an inspiring group of people and creating a meaningful conversation. It was an honor to be part of it.

Jeff Streader liked thisJeff Streader liked thisGovernance challenges in family businesses are rarely just about governance. They’re often about people, particularly how authority and trust shift as a business grows, roles become less clear and leadership passes from one generation to the next. This piece shares how valuable an independent perspective can be during these periods of change. The right directors can help take some of the emotion out of difficult decisions and bring greater clarity to questions around leadership, ownership and succession.Beyond the Kitchen Table: When Family-Only Governance Stops Being EnoughBeyond the Kitchen Table: When Family-Only Governance Stops Being Enough

And when the alarm was sounded, our REALTORS® showed up. They made the calls, sent the messages, and made their voices heard. That collective voice matters. As your 2026 C.A.R. QSee.ai - Computer vision… • 6K followers
Recently, I shared why I started QSee.ai and why I’ll be posting more here. My interview below gives more context. Chris Walker asked me about my background in apparel manufacturing, what actually breaks down in quality control, and why relying on human judgement alone creates inconsistent data at scale. We also touch on: – Why habits are often the biggest barrier to change inside factories – How computer vision fits into real production workflows – And what it takes to move from subjective checks to something factories can actually manage and trust If you want a practical overview of what Sara Naderi and I are building – and why – the video is a good place to start. Thanks to Chris Walker for the conversation and for asking the right questions.

The Textile Renewal Alliance (TRA), a newly formed 501(c)(3), was created to help all textile producers comply with California’s new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) law, with clarity and confidence. Backed by the California Retailers Association, the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA), and the National Retail Federation, TRA is a prospective Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) formed to implement California’s landmark Responsible Textile Recovery Act of 2024 (SB 707). The law requires producers and importers of textiles to take responsibility for the end-of-life management of apparel and other textile articles by joining and funding a PRO that ensures products are collected, repaired, reused, and recycled. TRA’s goal is to make EPR compliance straightforward, and to support a seamless transition to a more circular textile system. At Pure Strategies, we applaud TRA’s leadership in advancing collaboration and accountability across the textile value chain. The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has overhauled its leadership for 2026, appointing Joe Preston, President and CEO of New Balance, as its new board chair. Succeeding Ralph Lauren’s Halide Alagöz, Preston is joined by a powerful cohort of new directors including Meera Bhatia, President of Fabletics, and Lisa Williams, CEO of Eileen Fisher, all of whom begin their three-year terms on April 1. The leadership refresh also sees Danilo Amoretty of Carhartt step in as vice chair, while executives from Gap and United Legwear take on key secretary and treasurer roles. This strategic renewal comes at a pivotal time as the association looks to navigate global supply chain shifts and advance a "harmonized path" toward industry resilience. With representatives from VF Corporation, G-III Apparel, and Oxford Industries now at the table, the AAFA is clearly positioning itself to address the dual pressures of sustainable innovation and modern retail agility. To see the full list of 2026 board appointments and learn more about Joe Preston’s strategic vision for industry advocacy this year, read the complete announcement here: https://lnkd.in/eptwyD8e #AAFA #NewBalance #Fabletics #Leadership #FashionIndustry #Footwear #SupplyChain #RetailStrategy #Carhartt #NewAppointment
