Recently, a group on property hosted a team-building event centered around building bikes to donate—putting together an incredible 100 bikes for kids, from training wheels to big kid rides. While the original organization was unable to accept them, the group remained committed to finding a way to give back. The event manager for the program connected with our Culture Council to explore opportunities to donate to another local organization, and together we were able to make something meaningful happen. We split the bikes—50 were donated to a local women’s shelter we’ve supported in the past, and the remaining 50 are being distributed to our team members through HR. The shelter shared that this is the first time they’ve ever received a bike donation like this, and they’re incredibly excited to provide them to the children they serve. Moments like these are a powerful reminder that what we do in and outside these walls truly matters. It’s about creating impact, and supporting our community. Yesterday, I watched a young couple in their late 20s or early 30s bring their 4-year-old daughter out for a family day on our Par-3 course. What struck me most wasn’t just that they were there—it was how easily it all happened. At a traditional golf course, this moment probably never would’ve occurred. The round would take too long. The wife might feel out of place. The pressure, the formality, the country-club vibe that says “this isn’t for us.” But here? They walked into a welcoming public space with retail, food & beverage, music playing, and zero intimidation factor. No equipment needed—they grabbed clubs and balls at the desk, and within minutes they were on the course. The magic is in the details. Our 9-hole Par-3 plays in about an hour (90 minutes max). The holes are short and fast—perfect for beginners who’ve maybe only hit a driving range a couple of times. Even if you mishit, you’re not staring down 700 yards and five-putting. You’re moving, laughing, and finishing holes. The whole family stayed engaged the entire time. I was working nearby on the concert venue by the third hole and caught the best part: the parents smiling as their little girl lined up her putt after they’d finished the hole. That moment hit me hard. This is what growing the game of golf actually looks like. We talk a lot about “less friction” in this industry, but too often it stays theoretical. At Chasing Aces, we built it into the DNA: no dress code, no long waits, no judgment. Just fun, accessible golf that welcomes everyone—especially the families and beginners who will become the future of the game. If we keep designing golf only for the people who already love it, we’ll keep shrinking the audience. But when we look through the eyes of the people we want to bring in—the young families, the first-timers, the casual players—we cast a much wider net and bring fresh culture, energy, and joy into this great game. That’s exactly why we built Chasing Aces the way we did—and why we’re thrilled to be expanding that same experience into new communities. We recently broke ground in Opelika, Alabama, with our second location set to open in early 2027. The economic return of a Grand Prix weekend is shaped far more by how much visitors spend than by the sheer size of the crowd. High-cost destinations such as Las Vegas and Austin generate the strongest direct economic impact because they combine premium hotel rates, high-end hospitality offerings, and a large share of international visitors who stay longer and spend more. In Las Vegas, the effect is amplified by extensive temporary infrastructure and event-operations activity, which drives significant contractor, logistics, and construction spending. As a result, cities with mid-sized attendance can outperform much larger events in lower-cost markets. By contrast, some long-established races deliver exceptional attendance yet produce more modest direct impact once local pricing and event format are taken into account. Melbourne is a clear example: it attracts a predominantly domestic audience with shorter stays, naturally limiting accommodation and tourism spending. Monza, despite drawing a majority of international spectators, operates in a fundamentally lower-cost environment, with more moderate hotel, hospitality, and ticket prices than premium U.S. destinations. Furthermore, the execution and organization of the Monza race have faced significant criticism from fans in recent years, suggesting that higher levels of dissatisfaction may also dampen on-site spending. Mid-tier markets such as Suzuka, São Paulo, and Shanghai fall between these extremes. They attract strong tourism and corporate interest, but lower local price levels moderate per-visitor spending even when attendance is robust. Taken together, the data shows that visitor profile, stay duration, event format, and local price structures—not crowd size—ultimately determine the economic footprint of each Grand Prix. Italy and Australia illustrate this dynamic clearly: both host hugely popular races, yet their structural cost advantages and permanent-circuit formats limit the volume of spend required to stage the event, placing them below newer, higher-spend destinations in overall direct economic contribution. https://lnkd.in/dHu3cUBU
