Kurt Hoppe shared this5 shifts I made in 5 years to move toward 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮 and autonomy Here’s what I realized and changed everything 👇 1. Remote work is not freedom, it’s the same system, just more comfortable 2. Freedom begins with a decision, first stop trying to fit into the system, instead start building something 3. Tech now outpaces our ability to predict, but it can't replicate local immersion. The gap between 'Silicon' and 'Soil' is where the upside is hidden. 4. Moving is not just about travel, it is about testing ideas in real life 5. There is more than “nomad living", we can build big things while on the move In the last 5 years, I have worked from: Peru Mexico Indonesia Paraguay Alaska Costa Rica New Zealand Portugal Ivory Coast and many more These were not just stamps in my passport They were tests New locations pressure test ideas Every experience generates real-world feedback I am seeing signals and collecting data, ready to take the next step? Write “curious” below

Kurt Hoppe shared thisJeff Bezos isn’t waiting for “safe” markets. Are you? Most companies look at the same markets. USA. England. Germany. Mexico. Yawn. I started digging into what the biggest investors actually do. And it’s different. They move earlier. They go where no one is looking. That’s how they separate themselves. Take Jeff Bezos. Through his family office, he has backed logistics and infrastructure in Latin America. Not because it feels safe, but because growth is there but not yet obvious. Or Peter Thiel. He built his edge by moving early, long before the crowd. Or Ray Dalio. He focused on global opportunities and invested in places others ignored. My attention is shifting to places like Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia, and even more complex markets where risk seems higher, but so is the potential. Here’s the pattern I see from the "smart money": → Enter before the crowd → Confirm and follow real growth on the ground → Look globally, not locally This changed how I see real estate. It’s not about staying safe, close to home. It’s about seeing things early. So the real question is: are you watching the same markets as everyone else… or are you open to where capital is already moving?
-
Kurt Hoppe shared thisMost people wait for the “right time” to get started But when it feels safe The opportunity has passed. I used to focus only on data Reports Trends Projections Useful. But late. Those show where the market was Not where it’s going. My shift was simple Less screen More action. Because bold opportunities don’t show up in the reports They show up early In real places, through immersion. Before the headlines. What I look for now - Markets changing before the mainstream notices - New projects before the “Smart Money” moves - Signals that can be seen only by being involved This is the difference Chronos → waiting for validation Kairos → acting in the moment. Most people are waiting. That’s why they’re late. If it’s obvious they already missed it. The concept is simple Go there See early Move first. For a front-row seat before the next shift, follow our journey. This is where we track the horizon.
-
Kurt Hoppe shared thisPeople who build empires faster have one thing in common: They don’t wait for the perfect plan. I’ve seen 2 approaches, independent of the industry: One focuses on the same market for years. Slowly refining. Optimizing. Waiting for the “right” moment. Everything looks solid and responsible. But growth is elusive. The second embraces new concepts and 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺. This worked for me for decades in high-tech, and works just as well in global real estate. - Test new ideas and locations - Scout and enter markets before they’re obvious - Accept that some bets won’t work Not perfection. But in motion. There’s a reason for this. Even the infamous 𝘕𝘪𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰̀ 𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪 wrote that 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘵, not those who wait. Here’s what many people miss: winning doesn’t come from fixating on your first idea. It actually happens by iterating, extending, and adapting. If you wait until everything makes sense, you’re already late. Move before you feel ready. That’s where the real opportunities are found.

Kurt Hoppe shared thisI have been around here for over a decade, yet I’ve never properly introduced myself. I design systems for people who refuse to stay constrained. I started my career inside the corporate world: Innovation, but inside a structured, predictable world, built on fixed paths. It felt stable, but it was already outdated. So I stepped away. I left “static” behind and turned the world into a real-life testing ground. I made real bets. Changed how I think and operate. I believe in asset class, currency, and location diversification. From constraint → to freedom. This is my story so far: - 2014 I lived and worked inside the traditional apparatus, built for a different time. - 2018 I pivoted toward a more nomadic lifestyle, testing new ways of living between cities, synchronized with a new flow. - 2020 I shifted my mindset to prioritize a life around mobility, personal control, and passive income. - 2022 I focused on an evolved real estate model: agile access, remote control, and cashflow over static ownership. Today, I lead an international team, "VOW GLOBAL", that is growing a network of curated properties and local experiences that make the world feel like home, bringing along other professionals, nomads, and fellow part-time explorers. If you like the idea of "more freedom, without compromising security", I bet we have a few things in common, and you’ll feel at home as I start to share more... Some VOW GLOBAL reading is linked in the first comment below.

Kurt Hoppe shared thisAn MLK Day reflection while scouting real estate and local experiences across Bali... Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. taught us that understanding begins when we are willing to listen, to engage, and to see the world through someone else’s eyes. His life reminds us that courage and compassion can bridge even the deepest divides. At VOW International, we believe travel - especially when guided by local voices - has the power to broaden perspective and dissolve assumptions. As Mark Twain once observed, prejudice and narrow-mindedness cannot survive exposure to new places and new people. Today, we honor Dr. King by recommitting to empathy, curiosity, and shared humanity - values that global travel, at its best, helps us rediscover. 🙏🏻

Kurt Hoppe shared thisI am so proud of what Bryan Frist and the Yoshi Mobility team have been accomplishing since we started working together during my General Motors "GRID Labs" radical innovation days, starting with the first "AutoFuel" service that we prototyped on 2 different GM campuses. Since then, Bryan's servant leadership and pragmatic focus has helped drive Yoshi's multiple hypotheses, experiments, data analysis, iteration, Lean Startup Co. methodologies, strategic partnerships, corporate venture investments, and unique service expansions. I can't wait to see the results of this next stage of #extremefocus.Kurt Hoppe shared thisOne year ago today, I signed the paperwork to spin off Yoshi Mobility's legacy fuel business to a publicly traded competitor ✍️ This was the first step in a series of moves that our team took over the past twelve months to completely transform the business from an asset heavy and operationally complex one (fuel trucks, EV charging vehicles, etc) to an asset light, high margin business; leveraging the learnings, data, and tech stack built from millions of vehicle services completed over the years. Today, we are energized to be 100% focused on our digital vehicle inspection product with partners including Uber and Turo. Every meeting, every expense, and every action has a direct tie to this one product. This singular focus has brought clarity to the team, allowing us to move quickly and efficiently in tandem. Momentum continues to build. We’ve maneuvered a lot of twists over the past several years and I am grateful to every single person who has been involved along the way to get to this point. Each employee brought (and continues to bring) a unique view to the team and has left fingerprints on the company as a whole. Together, we’ve launched dozens of products that have never existed in the world to rave reviews (people still tell me daily how upset they are that we stopped our home fuel delivery business!). However, we now have one clear winner and are going all in. Things are buttoned up with the other lines of business and we are off to the races. Our vision is to become the largest AI-powered digital vehicle inspection company in the world. The path is clear. Looking forward to the weeks and months ahead as we continue to scale this product with new and existing partners across the country. Lots of potential and we are just scratching the surface. 🚀 #KeepMoving #ActionOverInaction #NeverStopImproving

Kurt Hoppe shared thisI love working with leaders that operate with their eyes open, assessing changing trends, listening to both customers & partners, willing to test innovation waters, and accelerating when the opportunity is confirmed. I am excited for Bryan Frist + Yoshi Mobility to help their fleet customers experience the magic of ultra-efficient digital vehicle inspections! #keepmoving #AIKurt Hoppe shared this"This has been the best thing ever for our fleet." After an extensive search, we knew Michael was the right leader to take Volloom into its next chapter. His vision aligns perfectly with what we're building — and we're proud to have him on this journey with us. With deep roots in tech start-ups in the US, Michael has spent the past fifteen years in marketing and CEO roles of next-gen video creation and distribution companies including augmented reality applied to complex product training. Volloom is pioneering volumetric video: a new media format that transforms standard camera footage into fully interactive, three-dimensional content by combining generative AI with the best attributes of volumetric video to ensure no hallucinations nor compromises on authenticity. The opportunity ahead is massive. The world now produces more visual content in a single day than it did in an entire year at the turn of the millennium, and audiences are demanding deeper, more personalized experiences. Volumetric media is the next leap — giving viewers not just control over what they watch, but how they experience it. With a fully integrated pipeline that works with off-the-shelf hardware and existing creator workflows, Volloom is making this technology accessible at scale for the first time. Michael, welcome aboard. The best is ahead. #VolumetricVideo #3DVideo #VC Simon St-Hilaire, Ing. #Toyota just dropped a masterstroke in automotive strategy 👌 They’re extending platform lifecycles from ~6 to 9 years🤯 This isn’t cost-cutting or slowing down #innovation. It’s a crystal-clear bet on where the real value will be created in the next decade. 📍What does a 9-year platform really mean? Why now? 1️⃣Skyrocketing development costs (#electrification + software + regulation) have made the classic 4–6 year model change economically unsustainable for most players. Many are already bleeding money on every new generation. 2️⃣#Vehicles become long-lived software platforms → Value shifts from sheet metal to digital services, #OTA updates, connectivity, and #UX → Entire R&D, product planning, and customer lifecycle management get reinvented 3️⃣Huge #cost & supply-chain benefits → Fewer full redesigns, longer tool/mold life, truly modular architectures, more stable supplier relationships This isn’t Toyota “falling behind” on new models. It’s Toyota redirecting billions from endless hardware 4️⃣Preserved resale value → Slower visual aging + continuous feature upgrades = happier owners, stronger used-car market, and a massive boost for fleet customers. ⚠️This isn’t Toyota “falling behind” on new models. It’s Toyota redirecting billions from endless hardware refreshes into the battles that will actually matter 2025–2035: 💵💵💵💵 will come from👇 #Software | #Data | #Connectivity | Seamless User Experience The game has changed. Honored to speak on the opening plenary panel at the 50th Annual ATSIP Traffic Records Forum alongside an amazing group of experts — Ian Williams, Kristin Kingsley,Andrew Rogers, and ATSIP CEO Tara Casanova Powell — about Automated Vehicle Data, AI, and the future of transportation safety. We explored how emerging datasets and AI capabilities can transform roadway safety and driver protection. At Cyvl, we’re proud to be part of that mission — mapping cities with AV sensors and data to drive smarter infrastructure decisions, and ultimately helping prevent crashes and save lives. Let’s keep the conversation going, especially between public and private sectors. Real-world pilots are the best way to prove these technologies work. If you’re a government leader or influencer, my call to action: champion the speed and flexibility needed to test and scale these solutions. The future of safe, data-driven mobility depends on it.

🚀 IHMC + Conduit Venture Labs: Turning Research Breakthroughs into Real World Impact I’m thrilled to share a new partnership between IHMC (Institute for Human & Machine Cognition) and Conduit Venture Labs to help advance real-world commercial paths for IHMC’s world-leading research. IHMC has been at the forefront of work in embodied AI, human-machine teaming, robotics, and human performance for decades. The opportunity now is not just continued discovery — it’s ensuring these technologies make it out of the lab and into the world, where they can drive real impact across defense, industry, and everyday life. 💡 Why this matters We’re at a pivotal moment for U.S. innovation. Across several critical domains — from advanced manufacturing to physical AI — the U.S. is falling behind. At the same time, our research institutions remain among the strongest in the world. The gap isn’t invention– it's translation Translating research into commercial outcomes isn’t a “nice to have.” It’s essential infrastructure. Too many breakthroughs don't exit the lab or stall before reaching scale, leaving economic, strategic, and societal value on the table. This partnership brings a builder’s lens early — evaluating multiple commercialization pathways (licensing, venture creation, strategic alliances) to ensure IHMC's breakthroughs reach real markets for impact and scale, delivering measurable returns. Thanks to IHMC's Ken Ford, Founder and CEO emeritus & Morley Stone, CEO of IHMC, for their vision and leadership. I have been a huge fan ever since I met Ken and got introduced to the organization. 👏 🙌 Lets go!!! 🚀 🚀 🚀 https://lnkd.in/gHCZkFFM #Ai #PhysicalAI, #Robotics #DeepTech #Commercialization #Innovation #PhysicalAI #TechTransfer #VentureBuilding Amish P. Tesla is due to launch its robotaxi service in Austin next month and, this time, it will deliver … something. Because it has to. The gap between its flagging EV sales and its trillion-dollar valuation has become a chasm. Robotaxis are needed to fill the gap. The Austin service will launch with just 10-20 vehicles and is likely to be heavily supported in the background with remote operators. The aim here isn’t to make money but to lend support to Tesla’s claim of leadership in autonomy even as rival Waymo’s rides have taken off already. Even if the launch generates the necessary buzz, and without mishaps, it will still serve to highlight a big, unresolved question: How will Tesla actually integrate the privately-owned EVs it claims are robitaxis in waiting to its network? Read about it here at Bloomberg Opinion https://lnkd.in/egQ-D5XR

Three years ago, when we said Manufacturing Tech was the next frontier, we mostly got blank stares. Today, the momentum is undeniable. AI is finally unlocking the digitization wave that manufacturing has waited decades for. And with public investment, private capital, and physical infrastructure like Solano Foundry coming online, the sector is positioned to catch up to the rest of the economy. Since 2000, industries like Financial Services, Information, and Business Services have tripled their GDP contributions, fueled by decades of digitization and software adoption. Meanwhile, Manufacturing has only doubled. That gap represents a $3.8 trillion catch-up opportunity and the window to build the enabling layer is wide open. The time is now. The infrastructure is forming. And the tools to modernize the industrial backbone of the country are finally here. We’re actively backing founders at this inflection point. If you’re building at the intersection of software and industry, we’d love to connect.

Thanks Harry, This is a great summary of one of the critical issues in the advancement of AV (and the more popular, focussed term “Robotaxis”) that virtually nobody (else) is talking about…what is Waymo’s plan/play??? They are far and away the robotaxi industry leaders…in every metric you might apply. BUT, Alphabet doesn’t like to be in the hardware game…and for sound business reasons. And you can’t be much more “in the hardware game” then manufacturing cars…so that seems unlikely. But they haven’t yet found “the partnership” that they are going all in on. So your summary piece here is doing the only thing that we can do right now, and that’s to track all the different partnership models (and partners) that they are dancing with and speculate as to what is most likely to emerge. You are always right there man, one step ahead of the crowd…

The #robotaxi industry entered a new era, defined by the tangible formation of new, complex #valuechains. Recent #partnerships and strategic #pivots are a sign of the operational and economic structures required for #autonomousmobility to scale. In #TransportationTransformation, I predicted that the deployment of #autonomousvehicles (#AVs) would necessitate a radical departure from the traditional automotive value chains to a new, service-oriented paradigm: the Fleet-Based On-Demand Mobility Value Chain. I presented a #framework for the required transition. Today, that framework is becoming the industry's working reality and a predictive lens through which to interpret what might otherwise appear to be a series of disparate corporate announcements.

Getting the tech right is only half the battle. If the public doesn't trust it or regulators block it, your state-of-the-art robot is just a very expensive paperweight. Tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1:00 PM PT, I’m hosting a session for the UC San Diego Alumni AI Council (https://lnkd.in/gSWBz22V) "AI Perspectives" series to talk about the messy, non-technical reality of getting physical AI out the door. Drawing on my experience deploying self-driving vehicles, off-road robotics, and other safety-critical systems, we're skipping the theoretical hype and diving straight into the actual friction points of deployment: ➡️ What actually goes into a successful deployment beyond the code and hardware? ➡️ How public opinion actively accelerates—or completely stalls—adoption. ➡️ How regulators are approaching novel, autonomous technologies today, and how to navigate those frameworks. ➡️ The current deployment bottlenecks we are seeing across physical AI industries and how to build a strategy that actually wins over customers and regulators (instead of just hoping for the best). Whether you are building safety-critical systems, wrestling with deployment bottlenecks, or just curious about what happens when AI meets the physical world, you should be there. https://lnkd.in/gtYg9yzr (And yes, if you register, you'll get the recording even if you can't make it live).

At the conference I will also be sharing a sneak peek of my research on the automotive Website Conversion Optimization Project (WCOP). In January, just in time for #NADA2025, we will be releasing the eye-opening research on how poor vendor management practices and lazy software installs are hurting dealer website performance and siphoning data off their websites without their knowledge. Make sure you sign up for my LinkedIn newsletter so you will be the first to get the reports as they are released: https://lnkd.in/eum9mRvZ
