Matthew Sheffield shared thisThe EF wrote this for the people whose job it is to be skeptical, not those of us who already believe. It reads like an internal due diligence memo a central bank would build before picking a settlement layer. It's objective, and unapologetic in comparing Ethereum to other chains. It explains the importance of different evaluation criteria to set the table before laying out the facts on Ethereum's dominance: Page 5: Quantifies security cost. Finalizing a fraudulent transaction on Ethereum costs about $50.7B to pull off, against $76B staked. Your stake gets slashed on the way out. That's more than Solana, BNB Chain and TRON hold combined. Page 28: Want to know who really controls a chain Look at genesis distribution. ETH: ~17% to insiders. Other chains were 50-90% to insiders. Check the charts. Page 37: Zero outages since 2015. None of the other players compared can say that. Page 38: Ethereum runs 5+ independent clients. Other L1s compared run 1-2. They explain the importance of client diversity too. Page 47: "Public blockchains aggregate global liquidity. Stablecoins, tokenized securities, and financial primitives on Ethereum are immediately usable across a broad market of participants. Permissioned ledgers remain liquidity-constrained by design. Even when technically functional, they often fail to achieve economic relevance beyond the initiating consortium." It goes on from there. This is a great information source that I hope becomes one of the first resources governments and institutions reference when considering their settlement network.Matthew Sheffield shared thisToday, the Ethereum Foundation Global Policy Strategy (GPS) team is publishing "Ethereum Basics for Governments and Institutions", a non-technical primer for the public sector and institutional leaders choosing the neutral infrastructure on which to coordinate with other parties while preserving their own sovereignty. The report covers how Ethereum works, how it is governed, how it compares with alternatives, and where it is already being deployed. The infrastructure underpinning modern economies is fragile, and governments and citizens alike are bearing the cost. Cloud outages cripple public services. Cross-border financial systems are weaponized. Identity providers are breached. These are not isolated anomalies; they are the inevitable tax of relying on centralized systems. For policymakers, this is a question of sovereignty and systemic risk. For institutions making deployment decisions, it is a question of resilience and counterparty exposure. Both point to the same answer: infrastructure that is credibly neutral, where the rules are enforced by the protocol rather than at the discretion of an operator that can be compromised or controlled. Ethereum was built for exactly this purpose.

Matthew Sheffield shared thisIt’s published, Sharplink is set to join the Russell 2000 & 3000 in June! As companies grow into inclusions, the percent of their holders that are index tracking grows. At scale, a company can have 25%+ of its stock held by passive funds. This is an important milestone for our company and means millions of people are set to gain exposure to the Ethereum opportunity.

Matthew Sheffield shared thisI will be speaking at the Agentic Finance Summit hosted by Microsoft on June 3rd, discussing the convergence of ai agents and blockchain rails. Since October, x402 protocol alone has enabled agents to process over 175 million transactions onchain. Stablecoin micropayments between autonomous actors has been a use case the industry has been discussing for over a year as a large growth vertical for network demand. We are starting to see that take form, and it will likely be one of the most impactful shifts in demand for Ethereum, as the world's decentralized trustware. Matthew Sheffield liked thisClosing out August with a major milestone. One year ago, I joined Anchorage Digital. I came in believing that crypto's next chapter wouldn't be won by the loudest voice in the room, but by the most trusted one — and this year proved that thesis right in ways I didn't fully expect. We became America's first federally regulated stablecoin issuer, launched USDtb as the first OCC-supervised stablecoin alongside Ethena Labs, and had our consent order lifted — real, hard-won proof that you can build a category-defining crypto company and hold yourself to the highest bar of institutional trust. Our CEO testified in front of the Senate Banking Committee. BlackRock named us an eligible digital asset custodian. We partnered with Google Cloud on agentic banking infrastructure, brought Anchorage Digital Prime to market, launched our Ventures program, and welcomed Mountain Protocol, Hedgey, and Securitize for Advisors into the fold. Tether invested $100M at a $4.2B valuation. And this year we have some our biggest plans yet. Being on the Institutional Sales team through all of this — watching skepticism turn into signed agreements, one relationship at a time — has been the professional privilege of my career so far. But if I'm honest, some of what I'm proudest of this year happened outside the office. I launched Dumbo Dads Run Club, building a small community of dads who show up for each other one mile at a time. And through my nonprofit Tucks Travels, I helped send 12 students to Costa Rica for an experience that will stick with them for life. We also funded over 200 students to get their passport — their first stamp into a bigger world. It turns out that's the thread running through this whole year: earning trust, opening doors, and building things that let people go further than they thought they could. Anchorage is doing that for an entire industry. I'm just trying to do a little of that for the people around me too. Here's to year two — more trust earned, more doors opened, more miles logged. 🎉 #Anchorage1Year

Matthew Sheffield liked thisThe least glamorous parts of a business are often the most important. I really enjoyed sitting down with Amanda Timm on Beyond the Balance Sheets podcast to talk about something I spend a lot of time thinking about: what actually makes organizations work. We covered leadership, communication, scaling teams, AI and blockchain, and why building the right foundations matters if you want the big ideas to actually work. Thanks to Amanda for a great conversation. Give it a listen!Matthew Sheffield liked thisThe biggest ideas only work when the foundation beneath them does. Our COO, Laine Litman, recently joined Amanda Timm on Beyond the Balance Sheets for a wide-ranging conversation on what it takes to build, scale and lead organizations through periods of growth and change. They discussed her career across traditional finance and digital assets, why strong operating foundations often matter more than the “exciting” parts of a business, and how the right infrastructure and data can unlock the potential of technologies like AI and blockchain. Relayer will become RockawayX Liquid Opportunities Fund and focus on undervalued tokens & crypto-related equities. Austin will continue leading the strategy as CIO. We see a compelling opportunity for active management in digital assets today. Many protocols and applications now have real usage, revenues, and fundamentals we can underwrite, while the market still misprices them. The strategy’s strong performance this year has been driven by positions in Venice.ai, Hyperliquid, Grass Network and other projects with strong usage and that are exposed to major themes (i.e. private AI, on-chain trading). We only add a new strategy when we have conviction in the team, approach, and our ability to outperform over the long-term. Matthew Sheffield liked thisI still remember leaving mortgages, consumer credit, and CLOs behind in '22 to rejoin Matt. Timing, as they say, is everything. We were both at Citi in structured products, which was a good place to learn that a new asset class is only ever as good as the plumbing underneath it and that counterparty risk matters. That's been the job here ever since. Building institutional-grade asset management on digital rails. Getting the regulatory footprint right while the rules were still being written. Handling custody through a cycle that kept us all on our toes. Forging a team that I'm proud of, and risk management that held through the ups and the downs. The backdrop was certainly tougher than the one we'd have picked, and I can't imagine having made this much progress without Matt and this team. Years of long hours on the work that needed doing, and more dedication and diligence than any of us thought we'd signed up for. Thank you for the graft. To M&G and everyone else in the round, thank you. We'll put in the work to take Hivemind to its next stage. The foundations went in during the tougher half of the cycle, which is the only time you find out what holds. When I joined, I used to say blockchain was inevitable, if not imminent. I'd drop the caveat now. There's a lot more frontier ahead, and no team I'd rather go at it with.Matthew Sheffield liked thisToday, our group company Hivemind Digital Group is announcing the completion of $17M in strategic funding, led by M&G Investments, with participation from CPIC Investment Management (H.K.) Company Ltd., ZA Global, FalconX, and Sonic Boom Ventures, alongside board members and senior executives at leading financial institutions. We are pleased to welcome Alex Seddon, Head of Impact and Private Equity at M&G Investments, to our Board of Directors. Our thesis has been consistent since day one, and becomes even more clear today. Blockchain and the broader frontier technology are increasingly becoming a new form of financial asset, and having a profound impact on reshaping financial service infrastructure. Investors should be able to access these new financial primitives with institutional-grade transparency and governance. This milestone accelerates the infrastructure build-out that makes it possible, and we are excited to be at the forefront of the grand financialization of frontier technology. Fundraising isn't dating. It's a sales funnel. And most founders don't track it, so 3 months go by while they're still "in conversations." Here's the brutal math (seed round, current selectivity): 100-200 investor outreaches → 15-20% reply rate → 15-30 first meetings → 5-10 partner meetings → 1-3 term sheets → 1 close If you're not tracking conversion at each stage, you're not fundraising. You're hoping. Founders who close faster don't have better luck. They have better systems: 1. They track the funnel weekly Where are leads dying? Outreach, first meeting, partner meeting? Each bottleneck has a different fix. 2. They iterate the narrative Every week: one sharper answer to the question that killed the last meeting. 3. They batch meetings 10 meetings in 2 weeks beats 10 meetings over 2 months. Compression creates urgency. Urgency creates leverage. 4. They treat "no" as data A fast no is worth more than a slow maybe. It frees you to find the real yes. If your fundraise feels stuck, stop asking "Who else can I talk to?" Start asking "Where is my funnel breaking?" I stress-test fundraising packages for founders. Deck, model, cap table, assumptions. You get a written findings memo and a 90-minute call showing you what breaks before investors do. Link in comments. #fundraising #seedstage #venturecapital #startups

🚨NEW EPISODE: Recorded live at FUTURE TITANS 2026 - Jeff Perry of Carta sat down with the iconic Seth Levine, co-founder of Foundry. Seth has been in venture for 25 years, built Foundry from scratch as an emerging manager himself, and has backed about 50 emerging manager funds through his fund of funds. He has genuinely seen every side of this table. They went deep on building Foundry, why VCs are in the influence business, not the decision business, and why the concentration problem in venture is not only bad for LPs, but also for the innovation ecosystem overall. And why Seth's new book, Capital Evolution, is so important for the future of America. 🎧 Links to listen... Apple: https://lnkd.in/ehQUQ2EM Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eU4FExpg

🚨 Warning to founders: when your product feels cool, are you building what they want — or what YOU want? I just published a new UBQT blog for Ubiquity Ventures: “Tesla Cybertruck: A cautionary tale in ego-driven product development.” 🔗 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/g8YHFnts Here’s a bit of the story: * Elon Musk once admitted about the Model X: “I do think there is some hubris there…” * Then at the Cybertruck reveal, he proclaimed “Armor glass. Bulletproof.” * Almost instantly: shattered windows. * Over 1 million people reserved the Cybertruck. * But only ~2.5% converted to real sales. * Stainless steel body, sharp edges, bed space worse than many SUVs — built for headline sexiness, not durable value. 👉 The takeaway? Disruption isn’t a badge of honor. Building something you think is radical is useless if it fails to create something customers feel they must have. What I’m telling founders today: ➡ Break rules to add value, not to chase applause ➡ Customer demand trumps novel optics every time ➡ Ego (“cool product”) is stealth tax on your manufacturing, your timeline, and your credibility

Summit Bullion Inc. • 851 followers
I’m Andrew Clark, founder of Summit Bullion. I am proposing a low-risk pilot for the State of Florida to hold allocated gold in U.S. depositories with daily public proofs, monthly CPA attestations, and scripted redemption drills—a modern, transparent version of a depository receipt in digital tokenized form. Title remains with the State at all times; no rehypothecation. Tokenized gold could help the transferability of physical gold to better align with Florida's new HB 999 (2025) program initiatives. Two reasons the timing is right in Florida: Legal-tender pathway: Florida enacted HB 999 (2025) recognizing gold and silver as legal tender (effective 2026), creating a clear policy signal for sound-money infrastructure. Tax treatment: Florida also removed the $500 threshold—all bullion sales are now tax-exempt—broadening market access and market depth in-state. Pilot mechanics (state first, retail later): Custody: Allocated bars in U.S. depositories; serial-numbered; dual control; insurance. Transparency: Public dashboard (circulating supply, bar lists, variance policy), auto-pauses on out-of-tolerance. Transfers: Instant on-chain transfers between approved state wallets; conventional wire/ACH rails remain as fallback. Redemption-first: Physical redemption remains the primary right; drills executed on a cadence to prove it. Income angle (optional, policy-gated): If permitted under Florida’s investment statutes, the State could provision limited liquidity to the regulated secondary market and earn a pro-rata share of transaction fees, without surrendering title to its metal. Parameters (caps, slippage bands, kill switches) would be codified, and all counterparties are KYC’d with provenance controls. Use cases we can enable in phase 2 (subject to the HB 999 timeline and agency adoption): Agency-to-agency transfers (treasury ops, escrow/permits). Vendor settlements via approved payment partners. Wallets for municipalities or state funds with policy guardrails. Blaise Ingoglia State of Florida City of Jacksonville
