While it’s hard to pick just a few, here are three principles that resonate most with me: #7 Readability Counts: Code is read more often than written. Make it easy to follow #17 If the implementation is hard to explain, it's a bad idea: Complexity that’s hard to justify is usually not worth it. #4 Complex is better than complicated: If complexity is unavoidable, make it well-structured and understandable. I’m incredibly grateful that our team, our families, and the people we love are safe. At the same time, my heart is heavy for the families who cannot say the same. Moments like this have a way of putting everything into perspective. The meetings, deadlines, goals, and things that feel so urgent suddenly become very small. People matter. Family matters. Community matters. Open the new Security tab on the service dashboard, add the IPs and CIDR ranges that should get through, and everything else gets rejected at the ingress. No hand-written ingress rules, no bastion, no WAF. Previews inherit the allowlist from their parent. Clone an environment and it comes along. Empty list means open to all IPs, same as today. But honestly, what made it special wasn’t the milestones — it was the people.
