Patricia Titus reposted thisSomeone observed recently that I like being part of a group. That I actively seek community. I didn't always. I liked working alone. I thought the group provided weight I didn't need. I think of it differently now. There's nothing I've done 'on my own.' That's a myth. Mentors, for instance, are incredibly powerful. They can be a voice in the room saying your name with conviction, or a voice that cancels out the one in your head. I was immediately impressed by David Gritz from the moment I met him, and knew I wanted to be part of whatever community he had built. That's why I am so thankful that Ardiga has been selected into InsurTech NY MGA Lab--the only dedicated MGA accelerator program in North America--alongside a small group of other MGAs and insurtechs trying to improve the ways that we transfer risk. Looking forward to meeting my fellow co-founders and to the exchanges that will follow over the course of the year. #emergingrisk #startups #insurance #acceleratorPatricia Titus reposted thisArdiga is excited to announced it has been selected to join the 2026 cohort of InsurTech NY's MGA Lab Program. #accelerator #MGA #emergingrisk #insurance Kelly Castriotta, Esq. Patricia Titus reposted thisBackground checks confirm that a fabricated identity was well-built, but they don't catch the fabrication. Over the past 18 months, our threat intelligence team flagged roughly 3,500 fraudulent applicants — DPRK operatives, and candidates tied to Nigerian, Pakistani, and other threat groups — applying for remote roles at companies across the U.S. One cell traced by the Wall Street Journal applied to more than 1,000 companies in about three months. Most of these cleared standard screening. The insider threat model has shifted. It's no longer a disgruntled insider who misuses access they legitimately hold. We're now dealing with operatives who win the access through the hiring funnel, before monitoring starts. The hiring funnel is now an attack surface and security teams need a seat in that workflow. I wrote for SC Media about what's actually happening, why existing controls miss it, and what practitioners can do now: https://lnkd.in/g8cDJCcnHow to catch what background checks aren’t built to seeHow to catch what background checks aren’t built to see

Patricia Titus shared thisReposting for reach to my network.Patricia Titus shared this🚀 I’m hiring for my team at Abnormal AI! We’re looking for a Sales Engineer, Mid Market UKI to join our growing team. For me, this role is as much about the person as it is the experience on the CV. I am looking for someone who is driven, ambitious and wants the opportunity to be successful. Someone who likes to get stuck in, takes ownership, solves problems and enjoys building strong relationships with customers and the people around them. We are a fast growing, fast paced team, which means there’s a real opportunity to come in, make an impact and grow your career with us. It’s also a great time to be working in this space. AI is changing how we work, and I want someone who is excited by that. Someone who wants to get hands on with the latest technology, use AI day to day to work smarter and solve problems, and continually look for new ways to improve how we do things. You don’t need to have all the answers. Whether you’re an experienced SE or looking to take the next step in your career, I’m interested in people who are curious, driven to keep learning and always looking for ways to get better. If you’re looking for a role where you can push yourself, embrace new technology, succeed and progress, I’d love to hear from you. Patricia Titus reposted thisPatricia Titus reposted thisOn August 12th, the Wall Street Journal published "Inside North Korea's Operation to Conquer the American Job Market," detailing how North Korea has systematically placed operatives across the U.S. job market as remote IT workers, earning wages for the regime while gaining insider access from day one. Mike B., Evan Reiser and the Abnormal AI Team have had numerous conversations with F500 CIO/CISO's stating insider threat and fraudulent-hire risk is now on their board agenda. Patricia Titus shared thisCISO's this is worth watching. This epidemic is hitting way too many of you for you not to have a solution in your toolkit to find these rogue threats and abolish them from ever being hired in the first place. Abnormal AIPatricia Titus shared thisLast year a woman in Arizona was sentenced for running a laptop farm out of her house. She kept more than 90 company-issued laptops online, each logged in under the stolen identity of one of 68 real Americans, so North Korean operatives could work from overseas while every device looked like it sat in the US. Those operatives drew paychecks from more than 300 companies, including a major television network and an aerospace manufacturer, and moved over $17 million back to the regime in three years. That's one house inside an operation North Korea has industrialized. The Wall Street Journal mapped its scale this month. The FBI confirmed an operative spent months working inside a federal agency. Eleven governments jointly warned that stolen identities and real-time deepfakes now clear standard hiring checks. Abnormal AI sees the front of that funnel. Over the past 18 months, our threat intelligence team has flagged roughly 3,500 fraudulent applicants and run deeper analysis on another 1,000, spanning DPRK operatives along with Nigerian, Pakistani, and other groups we've watched collaborate. The patterns repeat across candidates: the same phone number, the same cloned resume, the same fabricated employer showing up at a Fortune 500 and a five-person startup in the same week. Our CIO Mike B. wrote up what that means for anyone who hires. Every step in hiring treats a resume, a face, or a government ID as proof of a real person, and all three are cheap to fabricate now. Once the laptop ships, the operative carries the same access and trust as everyone else, so the only real window is the one before onboarding. Infiltration Prevention works in that window. It connects to Greenhouse and Workday through a read-only integration and applies behavioral AI to read the security signals around every application as it enters the pipeline, matching them against Abnormal's threat intelligence, drawn from the malicious patterns we see across our customer base. When an application lines up with a known threat actor, it hands the security team sourced evidence to review. It does not score or reject anyone. Recruiting still owns the hiring decision. We built it for the same reason we started with email. The attacks that cost the most come from people who look like they belong, and behavior is the last signal you have once they do. Patricia Titus reposted thisLast week, I introduced Clark Atlanta University’s incoming MBA class to Digital Trust, AI & Modern Business Leadership, a course I designed around my book, Learning Cybersecurity Fundamentals, which will serve as the course text 📚 I’ll also have the honor of serving as Executive-in-Residence and teaching the course next semester! 🎓 And I’m NOT delivering this course in a traditional lecture format. Students will learn through executive conversations, founder fireside chats, real-world case studies, and a cyber crisis simulation designed to put them in the decision-maker’s seat💡 Cybersecurity should have a place in business school curricula because tomorrow’s CEOs, founders, and board members will be expected to lead amid emerging technologies and increasing cyber risk. Waiting until someone becomes a CEO to have those conversations feels a little too late. Long after the course ends & the book tour wraps, I hope this work continues to create generations of business leaders who understand cybersecurity & are prepared to lead through the opportunities and risks that come with emerging technology 🚀

Three days in Lillehammer with the Norwegian security community, and a reminder of why this festival keeps being the one we look forward to all year. At our booth we talked a lot about the same thing: attackers have stopped writing bad emails. The phishing that lands today is well-written, contextual, and «human». LEGO is still the number 1 attraction ❤️ and congratulations to the 2 winners, build with passion! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to challenge us, share war stories, and ask the hard questions, those conversations are worth more than any slide deck. It has been terrific working at Datos and meeting some of the brightest and most talented people anywhere in financial services. I am proud of the accomplishments that my colleagues and clients achieved together, essentially transforming the insurance industry, while at the same time making the work so rewarding. While this is the sunset of my career, every sunset is followed by a sunrise. As the sun rises on my retirement, I am very excited for the things that will follow, quality time with my family, extensive travel (especially to Australia-my 7th continent), more involvement with my church, more rounds of golf, some volunteer work, and perhaps a good book or two! Here is the key learning I wanted to share- a successful career was never about “me” but always about “we”. With that said, I want to thank all of you for letting me be part of your journeys. Wishing you all grace, peace, prosperity and happiness.

What started as a 10-person cybersecurity AI training pilot has grown to 20, then 50, and now well beyond 50 professionals needed. CyberSN’s success identifying cybersecurity practitioners for the original $75/hour projects has opened the door to additional projects paying $125/hour. We now have opportunities at both $75 and $125/hour, and we want to spread the word. These are remote AI training engagements lasting a minimum of 12 weeks, with the potential to continue beyond the initial sprint. You can be currently employed or between roles—as long as you can realistically commit the required hours in a seven-day period. What You’ll Do - Evaluate AI-generated cybersecurity content—including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques—for real-world accuracy and validity - Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems - Write clear technical explanations and security-relevant code - Annotate and rank model outputs to guide AI training and improvement - Maintain consistent quality and throughput throughout the sprint engagement You’re a fit if you: - Have 5+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role—such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent fields, including government or military cyber operations - Have working coding ability: comfort writing code (Python is sufficient) and navigating and patching a codebase. Please note the entry assessment is coding-based - Have strong written communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely - Are comfortable working independently in a remote, self-directed environment - Are available to commit 30–40 hours per week for the full 12-week engagement, with the flexibility to complete those hours at any time across the seven-day week - Are based in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom - Cybersecurity certifications are a plus (OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar)—practical expertise matters more than credentials If this sounds like you, share your resume here: ai-training@cybersn.com And please reshare this post. Many of the strongest practitioners for this work are already employed and may never see a traditional job posting. Cybersecurity + coding + AI. The demand is here. CyberSN's first hire 12 years ago Dawn Saenz is leading this effort. Dawn and her team will take great care of you!

Patricia Titus reacted on thisPatricia Titus reacted on thisI was doin’ just fine today going about my job search, and then about 1pm when I heard Dolly passed it just took the wind out of my sails. The thing about Dolly is a) the incredible courage and tenacity she had to fight amongst the “man’s world” of country music for decades (and it’s still Iike that today), is something that everyone should study and be aware of about her and how she navigated that successfully. I particularly think of that with regards to women in the tech industry and the challenges they face. I’m sure there’s a lot of guys they’d like to “change from a rooster to a hen” as she said in “9 to 5,” 😎. And B, she was an incredible entrepreneur with an amazing head for business and management at the global corporate level in an incredibly public way. The The Wharton School should establish a class about Dolly’s business acumen. There’s not a better story, man or woman. There are lessons to be learned from her for everyone from all walks of life, and that includes in business and the corporate world. Dolly’s gone. My Lord, Dolly’s gone.

I spend a lot of time with manufacturers and product teams who aren’t questioning whether they must comply with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) they’re stuck on the how. The CRA is clear on the obligations, but in practice the hard part is interpretation: software distributed online, products that depend on cloud back-ends, continuous updates, open-source components, product families, legacy models… This is exactly what the European Commission is trying to address now. The Commission is preparing a Communication (a guidance document) to explain how the CRA should be applied in real situations and to support a consistent approach across the EU. It’s not a new Regulation and it’s not “binding law” in itself but it matters because it clarifies how key provisions are expected to be understood and implemented in practice. https://lnkd.in/etm43Utx What I like in this draft is that it turns the CRA into practical “rules of the road”, especially on: • Software scope & “placing on the market” (including iterative releases) • What counts as the “product” when hardware depends on apps/drivers/software delivered separately • Open-source (FOSS): when it’s out of scope vs when it becomes a commercial activity, and the steward concept • Updates vs “substantial modifications”: focus on risk/attack surface/intended purpose, not release size • Support period: 5 years is a minimum, and how this works with versioned software/upgrade paths • Cloud / remote processing: what’s part of the product vs general IT infrastructure • Risk assessment & due diligence: manufacturers keep responsibility, including for third-party components The draft is open for feedback for a limited period, and comments are expected in a structured template (so they can consolidate input). If you build products that will fall under CRA, this is a very good moment to stress-test your assumptions and flag the parts that are unclear, unrealistic, or could lead to unintended consequences. I’m sharing the draft guidance here because, from what I see, the companies that will move fastest are the ones that turn these interpretations into concrete internal rules: scope mapping, update governance, support period policy, OSS governance, and evidence-ready documentation.

Reason #2 to add Nipper solutions to your cyber stack: Prioritize the exposures and IOCs that matter most. On complex networks, teams rarely lack findings. What they often lack is clarity on which exposures and IOCs create the greatest business risk. That slows effective remediation and leaves high impact risks unresolved for longer. Nipper solutions help prioritize what matters by grounding findings in network truth: how devices are configured, how controls interact, and where exploitable weaknesses could affect critical assets or services. The result is faster, risk-prioritized remediation supported by evidence teams can trust. Ready to increase your network readiness, resilience and recoverability? 📖 Download Five reasons to add Nipper solutions to your cybersecurity stack (link in comments).
