It is common for high performers to carry an old mistake far longer than the moment itself. In my executive workshops, when I ask how many people still beat themselves up over a past mistake, nearly half the room raises a hand. Research from Harvard Health shows that rumination, replaying a painful moment again and again, can deepen anxiety, disrupt sleep, and keep stress alive in the mind and body. Stanford CCARE also notes that self-criticism can make it harder to recover and learn after failure. That is why this little league moment is so powerful. A batter gets hit by a pitch, then walks to the pitcher to console him. What if the real pain is not only the mistake, but the story a leader keeps telling after it? One approach that helps many leaders is this: Name what happened, without turning it into who you are. Ask, What repair is possible now? Klink reposted thisAs Hawai‘i honors the life of Governor George Ariyoshi—a U.S. Army World War II veteran who served in the Military Intelligence Service and a visionary leader for the Pacific—we remember a legacy that continues to shape our region. During my time as President of the East-West Center, I had the opportunity to honor his pivotal role in establishing the Pacific Islands Development Program (PIDP) at the East-West Center and advancing the Pacific Islands Conference of Leaders (PICL) in 1980. His foresight in bringing together Hawai‘i, U.S.-affiliated Pacific territories, and Pacific Island nations created a lasting framework for addressing shared challenges through dialogue and partnership. He partnered with Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara—Fiji’s first Prime Minister following independence and a founding figure of the Pacific Islands Forum —to establish the PICL, reinforcing a shared regional vision that endures today. The Governor’s vision continues through the East-West Center under President Celeste Connors, with PIDP carrying forward its work under the leadership of Hon. Henry Puna. It is reflected in efforts like the recent Pacific Agenda, which convened Pacific Islands heads of state, U.S. territorial governors, and Hawai‘i’s governor—alongside allies, partners, business leaders, and investors—hosted by the U.S. Department of State, including Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and the East-West Center, to strengthen economic investment and advance security and partnership across the Pacific. #IndoPacific #PacificIslands #AlliesAndPartners #Leadership #Legacy #Hawaii

Thank you Mom, for saving it and sharing it with me so many many years later. You somehow knew all along!Paul L. Klink reacted on thisClara Barton was a volunteer first — long before she founded the American Red Cross. Before bringing the movement to the United States, Clara served as a volunteer with the International Red Cross during the Franco‑Prussian War. She went into war zones alongside other volunteers, helping distribute relief supplies to families in Strasbourg whose lives had been upended by war and to people across France. She also helped open workrooms so the people of Strasbourg could make new clothes and begin rebuilding their lives with dignity. Clara’s service laid the foundation for an organization built on volunteerism — a mission powered, then and now, by people willing to show up in moments of crisis. During National Volunteer Month, we honor Clara’s legacy and the volunteers who remain at the heart of our mission.

Paul L. Klink liked thisPaul L. Klink liked thisAstronauts, ambassadors, cabinet secretaries, generals, investors, and founders. I spent the last two days at a retreat outside of Austin. It was called “Endless Frontiers,” and it was simply amazing. I caught up with an old friend who just got a NASA contract to 3D build a base on the moon. (That’s right…) I had breakfast with General Jim Mattis and talked about the future of warfare. I met a guy that just raised $200 million for his robotics company. I listened to the Mission Control director of the Artemis moon mission talk about the room where it happened. The theme was an exploration of how America can recapture its magic. How it can get its swagger back. It was intellectually and ideologically diverse. The kind of convening and dialogue we need more of. Congrats to the team that pulled it off and a ton of thanks to my friend Paul Leggett for letting me sneak in.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Problem Solved: Many individuals are driving very distracted. Many drivers are distracted by talking on their cell phones, looking at their electronic devices, texting which takes almost all attention from driving and other distractions. Being distracted while driving causes deadly accidents.
The horn systems currently on vehicles only point forward alerting only those in front of a vehicle leaving the other directions without alarm or alert.
The 360° horn alerts at all sides simultaneously.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
As stated above, many individuals are driving very distracted. Many drivers are distracted by talking on their cell phones, looking at their electronic devices, texting which takes almost all attention from driving and other distractions. Being distracted while driving causes deadly accidents. The invention claimed here solves this problem.
Many times while driving, the driver can anticipate an accident, especially from behind or from the side where their vehicles horn is not heard as well as from in the front where the horns are generally directed. Having a horn system that sounds at 360° alerts distracted drivers while they approach an aware driver who has a 360° horn that they would hear better than the conventional horns that only point forward.
The claimed invention differs from what currently exists. Having a 360° is much better than the current options that only point primarily forward.
