📢 Upcoming Deadline for Owners and Suppliers of HVAC-R Equipment The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation amended 6 NYCRR Part 494, “Hydrofluorocarbon Standards and Reporting”, to address greenhouse gases in refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment. The regulation includes a Refrigerant Management Program (RMP) to control leakage from existing equipment as well as mandatory reporting for suppliers of regulated substances. Any entity that owns or operates covered equipment in New York State or that supplies such equipment or refrigerant may be required to register and report. The initial deadline for registration is June 1, 2025 and this applies to owners of large equipment containing more than 1500 pounds of refrigerant and to all manufacturers and distributors of HVAC-R equipment or refrigerant.   Information on the Part 494 regulation, including an FAQ and Fact Sheet are available at https://lnkd.in/e4WRUtSY.
