Rehan Hyder liked thisRehan Hyder liked thisI'll never forget the day I realized how bad a sales manager I was. It started with an email from a top rep on my team. I was a new manager, about a year in. I was whipping out awesome ideas, fun contests, custom websites where people logged activity and got points for a leaderboard (this was back in 2010 when that wasn't easy), killer ride-along coaching... ...or so I thought. I had just sent out an awesome email launching a(nother) initiative to get results. My rep emailed me with 1 sentence: "With all this stuff you have us doing, I don't have time to do my job." Whoa! Hold it right there, my man. I don't care if you were the #3 out of 150 reps last year. I'm doing fun, inventive stuff here. The other managers are boring. I got my feathers ruffled, so I wrote my VP a quick email that basically said, "This guy has a bad attitude. He doesn't participate in what I'm doing." etc etc. I just dogged the dude to my boss. 2 mins later I get an email from my boss, "Did you mean to have the rep on that email?!!" Uh oh. I hit reply and not forward. That's right. My rep got the email of me dogging him to our VP. 1 min after that, I get a call. The iPhone screen had his name and the red and green button to hang up or answer. I hit the red button. I was scared. I froze. I was lost. So, I did what every good manager does. I ignored it. Why? Bc I was his manager, and he was my rep. I can do that as "the boss." psshhhh... I was meeting my family at the grandparent's place that night. Halfway there, I decided to get some courage. I pulled over (I remember the exact spot on the road) and called my rep. He cussed me out for 5-6 minutes. Ripped me to shreads. - how could I talk about him like that - why did I tell our boss but not him - he's a top rep and deserves input - I had violated his trust - I was the WORST manager he'd ever had At the end of it, I said, "Mike, sorry you had to find out this way, but that's what I really think about you." The conversation didn't get better, but it didn't get worse. And at some point, I realized I would NEVER want to be managed how I was managing my team. I saw I was a bad sales manager. Sure, I was doing some things right, but I had too many crazy ideas constantly unleashing on my team that were distracting and feeding my ego. So, I went back to school. - called mentors - read books - devoured podcasts - asked my manager peers for help - worked more closely with my VP A year later, the rep resigned. He sent me the email below AND a handwritten letter. In the letter, he told me after my rough start that I ended up being his favorite manager ever. That's the power of LEARNING to be a manager vs assuming you know how to do it. Want to share my learnings? I've now helped 8 of my managers become VPs for the first time -- this is good stuff. Ran out of room, but check the comments for how I'm sharing what I've learned.

Rehan Hyder liked thisRehan Hyder liked thisBig announcement...🥁 I'm now a software founder! Well, not a real one. I did build a legitimate product though. TLDR: I have a metric ton of sales calls every week. I needed a way to prep for calls that was automated and sent me briefs directly. So I built it. I built a software product that has OAuth, AI functionality, and directly syncs to Slack via webhook. All in less than 8 hours. Here's what it actually does: 1️⃣ It reviews my calendar every 5 minutes, and sends me an AI-generated brief using the Perplexity API an hour before every sales call to tell me about the people that I'm meeting with, their company bio, company size, funding, and their website and LinkedIn URLs. 2️⃣ Has the ability to build templated prompts and timing intervals to generate these briefs based on a custom template builder UI. 3️⃣ It has a calendar view so I can actually view my calendar in real-time and interact with it. 4️⃣ It sends notifications directly to Slack via web hook with the ability to input and embed multiple web hooks for different channels based on different types of meetings and meeting configurations. If you're technical, you could build all of this in n8n much faster to be honest, but this is now usable for my entire team right out of the box. Thanks Lovable 🤝

🚀 Gong Study: Sales Teams Using AI Generate 77% More Revenue Per Rep A new study from Gong reveals a major shift in how AI is transforming revenue operations — and the numbers are hard to ignore. Here's what you need to know: 📊 7 in 10 enterprise revenue leaders now trust AI to inform business decisions — a dramatic change from just two years ago. 💰 Sales teams using AI tools generate 77% more revenue per rep compared to those that don’t. That’s a six-figure difference per salesperson annually. 📉 Despite steady win rates, sales reps are working fewer opportunities. Quota attainment dropped from 52% to 46% YoY — making productivity the #1 growth strategy for 2026. 🧠 Companies are moving beyond basic automation (like call transcription) to strategic AI use cases — forecasting, identifying at-risk accounts, and measuring value prop effectiveness. 📈 U.S. companies are leading the charge, adopting AI 12–18 months ahead of their European counterparts. 🔍 Revenue-specific AI tools are outperforming general-purpose platforms like ChatGPT — delivering 13% higher revenue growth and 85% greater commercial impact. 👥 Most sales leaders believe AI will reshape jobs, not eliminate them. 43% expect transformation without headcount reduction, while 21% foresee new roles being created. 🏗️ Gong credits its 10-year AI development journey as a competitive edge over giants like Salesforce and Microsoft, emphasizing its proprietary “revenue graph” and layered architecture. 🤖 The big question: Will AI hollow out the sales profession or expand it? Gong’s CEO sees potential for massive growth — likening it to how smartphones revolutionized photography. The takeaway? AI is no longer optional in sales — it’s becoming essential. #superintelligencenews #superintelligencenewsletter #AIinSales #RevenueIntelligence #SalesTech #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfWork #SalesProductivity #B2BSales #GongAI #SalesLeadership

This Week in SaaS we're covering Lovable getting MORE MONEY. $400M to be exact. Greeeedy. That brings their valuation to $13.3 billion valuation, nearly doubling their $6.6 billion valuation in December. Compare this to Airtable selling for a total of 1.28B. It's telling that they are both reporting ~500M in revenue. The vibe coding space is getting crowded. Replit (2016) was the OG to Lovable (2024). And we also have Figma comig in hot with FigmaMake (2025). Not to mention what you can do with Claude Code, @Codex and Perplexity. Vibe coding gets a lot of flack for instability, security concerns. While for many they use Lovable for personal projects or for small teams, I'm curious to see how far people push it. At Go Nimbly we're using vibe coding applications for v1s, but typically have our Technical Architects then do their magic and migrate out. Where investors put their money says a lot about where they believe the industry is going. This is one to watch and on the heels of OpenRouter getting bought by Stripe for 7.5B and Wispr Flow raises 280M to bring them to a 2B valuation. Looks like there's something to this AI Native segment after all... #thisweekinsaas #ainative #vibecoding

Peak Sales Recruiting

Most lead scoring models fail for one simple reason: they only measure activity. If someone downloads 3 ebooks, visits your pricing page twice, and opens every email… they might look “hot.” But if they’re a student, a consultant, or outside your ICP, that score means nothing. A simple fix: score in two buckets Fit score - industry, company size, title, geography Intent score - demo requests, pricing visits, high-value content views When both are high, that’s where sales should focus. If you’re reworking your scoring model this year, we broke down real examples and structures we see working across B2B teams. Rep uses the same email template for every persona. CFO gets the same pitch as an SDR manager. Reply rates tank. Different buyers respond to different approaches. A technical buyer wants proof and details. An exec wants ROI and speed. Using one framework for all kills conversion. Spray and pray with templates = low reply rates across the board. Advent Calendar Tip 7 (of 12) 🎄🎅 Better: Test different email frameworks by persona • Problem-Agitate-Solution (call out pain, make it urgent, offer fix) • Before-After-Bridge (show current state vs. ideal state) • AIDA (hook attention, build interest, create urgency, clear CTA) Run A/B tests on 100+ emails per framework. Track reply rates by persona. What works for founders won't work for VPs. Test, measure, adapt.

Salesforce deployed Agentforce across its sales org. Here's what their leaders say: "Agentforce gives sellers the time back to be in person, driving agent workshops, building, and guiding. Not trying to search across hundreds of apps or getting stuck in quote approvals." — Kaylin Voss, EVP of Sales, Agentforce & Data 360 The transformation is real: less admin work, more customer engagement, faster deals, and continuous coaching. At Accelirate, we help organizations implement Agentforce strategies that deliver the same productivity gains Salesforce achieved, identifying high-impact use cases, architecting secure deployments, and transforming sales operations. 🔥 The Renewals Trap When older reps live off renewals, growth stalls. What happens: ❌ Stagnant client relationships ❌ Complacency sets in ❌ Revenue plateaus ❌ Growth ceiling hits hard What fixes it: ✅ Separate renewal vs. new sales metrics ✅ Cap renewal commissions ✅ Build a renewals role/process ✅ Incentivize balance 👉 Renewals keep the lights on. But new business fuels growth.
