Beauty and fashion went in a different direction. They built: 1. Attention before they built systems 2. Brands before data 3. Desire before distribution Women's sports is building both at the same time. Performance is rising, infrastructure is catching up, and attention is still underpriced. The brands that put those two things together now, before the data is clean, before the market gets crowded, will own something that can't be replicated later.

Most brands I work with are still waiting until conditions are right before committing to women's sports. They want cleaner data, clearer internal alignment, an obvious cultural signal they can point to in a board meeting. I've watched brands spend six months in alignment meetings on whether to sponsor a women's league. By month four, someone else had already signed. The brands with real positioning in this space moved before the proof was clean. Now they have audience equity that nothing in a latecomer's budget can replicate. I didn’t have perfect timing when I moved, but I moved anyway. And sometimes it's exactly what these brands needs to do: Just go for it - before everything is crystal clear. 💯

When safe work practices are repeated consistently, they begin to feel natural. Pre-task planning, checking your surroundings, maintaining good housekeeping, using the right PPE, and communicating with your crew can become second nature through repetition and discipline. That’s the goal of training and experience—not just to follow safety procedures when someone is watching, but to build habits so strong they become part of how you work. The more we practice doing the right things, the more automatic those actions become when pressure is on. But there’s a caution here too: when a task feels routine, complacency can creep in. “Second nature” should never mean operating on autopilot. It should mean safe habits are ingrained, while awareness stays sharp. Practice builds habits. Good habits build safe outcomes

When your brand stands for something authentic, every initiative becomes an extension of your story. Levi Strauss & Co. announced an initiative to reduce supply chain emissions by 42% by 2030. How? Accelerating renewable energy adoption across their supply chain. The initiative makes it easier for their suppliers to get access to favorable pricing for renewable energy solutions (ex. on-site solar to group power purchase agreements) What’s the brand lesson? It's brand integrity in action. They're making sustainability financially viable and operationally achievable for their supply chain. That's how a 170 year old brand stays relevant. Another week and another article in the media industry trade press exposing the same old story: opaque incremental deals, principal media, and holding groups monetising volume instead of value. https://lnkd.in/eaSmgxpu And let’s be honest — none of this is new. The ANA has been crystal clear: principal media thrives because legacy agencies act as principals, not agents, restricting transparency and prioritising their own margins and bundles over client outcomes . What is hard to understand is that the industry is still pretending to be surprised. 👉 Why are auditors, and pitch consultants still rewarding volume as if it were a proxy for quality? 👉 Why do they measure mainly new business wins and scale instead of the capability to activate innovation before. Volume is the raw material of arbitrage. It’s the fuel of intermediation. It’s the mechanism that allows dark deals and principal trading to flourish. If you value volume, you implicitly value the business model that produces these behaviours. So maybe the industry’s problem isn’t just the deals — it’s the metrics that keep validating them. When will we shift from measuring “how big” to measuring “how good”? When will we start valuing the capabilities that actually matter to advertisers — strategic talent, data maturity, ethical use of technology, real performance — instead of how much media an agency can push through its pipes? Until that happens, don’t expect change, expect demise, because the incentives are still pointed in the wrong direction.
