I had the privilege of serving as Chapter President back in 2009, growing alongside this community and building friendships that have continued through the years. You are traditional." Nobody told you to run all forty-seven. The standard was never the recipe, it's the pantry. The judgment on what actually matters was always supposed to be yours. The truth is, I wouldn’t be the professional—or the person—I am without the support of my family and the inspiration I get from watching my children chase their dreams. My daughter Sofía is one of the most dedicated, driven, and resilient people I’ve ever known. Seeing her work so hard and achieve her goals fills me with a pride I honestly can’t put into words. I’ve added a few photos here because we wanted something less formal yet significant—a celebration that underscores how important our honorees are to PMI’s DNA. It truly felt like different cultures coming together to recognize the people moving our profession forward (and celebrating in a big way!). Why? Because recognition isn’t just an event at PMI — it’s part of who we are. It brings our five culture values to life and honors the individuals, projects, PMOs, chapters, and volunteers who embody them every day. This year was even more meaningful as we launched the PMI Awards Center of Excellence, bringing together Professional, Chapter, PMI EF, Research & Academics, PMI Fellows, and PMO Awards into one aligned, culture-driven program. What makes this service so incredible is the sheer scale and necessity that created it in a city where jams can stretch for miles and last for hours. Commuters racing against critical job interviews, international flights, or family emergencies rely on these motorcycle rescuers to defy urban paralysis. Increasing Demand for Great Project Managers In The Coming Decade According to the Project Management Institute (PMI)’s 2025 Global Project Management Talent Gap report (www.pmi.org): As of Y2025, there are “almost 40 million project professionals” worldwide. The PMI projects a demand gap of up to 29.8 million additional project professionals by Y2035 (i.e., total needed at that time would be around 65 million).
