Steve Bryan shared thisDeparting Sitka, AK after an amazing week aboard a NatGeo expedition. Almost 1,000 miles weaving in and out of bays, glaciers, bears, eagles and whales. Now headed for the Highway User Conference in Dallas, TX. It’s all they’re talking about up here. See y’all there tomorrow.

Steve Bryan shared thisBluewire LLC is very excited to be working with our friends at Highway to give brokers the complete platform they need to Evaluate, Monitor and Reveal the risk that lurks in their Carrier Network. With the GAP Score, Bluewire gives freight brokers a standardized measure of carrier severity risk—bringing greater consistency, visibility, and confidence to carrier qualification decisions. As freight brokers face increasing expectations around carrier qualification, risk management, and operational oversight, many are seeking broader visibility into the factors that influence carrier risk. Together, Highway and Bluewire give brokers a more complete view of every carrier relationship. Looking forward to setting a standard for brokers with Michael Caney and the entire team at Highway.Steve Bryan shared thisHighway is excited to announce an exclusive reseller partnership with Bluewire LLC. Through Highway’s exclusive Bluewire Broker Package, brokers can access three report types for carrier vetting, network benchmarking, and risk intelligence, built directly in the Highway platform. Steve Bryan shared thisThank you John Ferguson, appreciate the support. I mentioned to you on Friday that I am very proud to be a solution to the challenges SCOTUS has laid at the feet of the broker world. But even prouder of the response I've seen from dozens of brokers I've spoken to in the last two weeks who have embraced their new role in making #SaferRoadsPeriod Keep up the great work.Steve Bryan shared thisWhat is a safe carrier? I HAVE THE ANSWER. Every shipper and broker in the country is scrambling to answer that question right now. Carrier identity. Fraud prevention. Insurance exposure. Nuclear verdict risk. Operational history. Safety patterns. Hidden vulnerabilities. Everyone is trying to figure out who they can trust with their freight. I believe I found the company that answers that question better than anyone in the market: Bluewire LLC. Last Friday, I had the opportunity to demo Bluewire’s product with Steve Bryan, integrated with Highway, and I walked away convinced this is game-changing technology for freight brokers and enterprise shippers. Why? Because Bluewire is not just looking at a carrier at the surface level. They are using AI, data analysis, and severity risk scoring to identify gaps, vulnerabilities, and risk patterns across more than 750,000 motor carriers. Their GAP Score evaluates carriers across nine critical severity categories, giving brokers and shippers a much deeper view into carrier risk. That matters. Because in today’s market, “active authority” is not enough. A certificate of insurance is not enough. A clean-looking MC number is not enough. Shippers need partners who are using the best technology available to protect their freight, their customers, their insurance profile, and their brand. Highway helps solve carrier identity and fraud prevention. Bluewire adds a deeper layer of risk intelligence. Together, that is a serious advantage. If you are working with a broker and they are not using Highway connected with Bluewire, you are rolling the dice. At Pivot Supply Chain Solutions, Inc, we are not interested in rolling the dice with our customers’ freight. We are interested in building the safest, most data-driven, enterprise-grade brokerage in the market. Disclaimer: This is my daughter Emma, post-slickback. Not me. A real adult runs Pivot.

Steve Bryan posted thisCarrier Diligence After Montgomery For the past 19 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of transportation data, carrier risk, and litigation exposure — including serving more than 10,000 motor carriers through the Vigillo CSA platform and now as founder of Bluewire LLC. One reality has remained constant: Carrier risk is far more complex than simply determining whether a company has operating authority. The recent Montgomery decision may significantly accelerate industry recognition of that reality. Historically, many brokers and shippers relied heavily on FMCSA authorization and basic compliance checks as the threshold for onboarding carriers. But the emerging question is no longer simply whether a carrier was authorized to operate. The question is whether reasonable diligence was exercised in selecting that carrier, and can the broker explain their selection criteria. FMCSA authority establishes legal eligibility to operate. It does not necessarily establish: -operational stability, -safety culture, -fraud exposure, -identity consistency, -or litigation risk. At the same time, the industry struggles with incomplete and uneven safety data: -small carriers often have limited histories, -new entrants may have little meaningful data, -and safety metrics require substantial context to interpret correctly. Bluewire has solved for these challenges for brokers under Montgomery, and my calendar is packed with demos. During two recent demo meetings, brokers told me they were hiring a dedicated safety consultant specifically to help vet their carrier network. Pre-Montgomery, that would have been highly unusual outside the largest organizations. This is great news and a tectonic shift in how brokers perceive their responsibility to safety. Montgomery may be the single most important safety event of the last two decades. That shift is already underway: Carrier selection is evolving from a compliance exercise into a defensible risk management function. Importantly, this is not about excluding small carriers. Small trucking companies are the backbone of American commerce. The challenge is not carrier size. The challenge is uncertainty. The industry needs better tools and more consistent frameworks for distinguishing between: -legitimate operators and manipulated identities, -low-data carriers and low-risk carriers, -and regulatory authorization versus operational confidence. Not yet two weeks since Montgomery and this industry is getting safer. All you retired safety directors and consultants, get back to work, the brokers need you.

Steve Bryan shared thisFreight Brokers, Insurance, and Motor Carriers are entering a new era. A recent article highlights a significant Supreme Court ruling where brokers are held accountable for hiring unsafe carriers. https://lnkd.in/gYk-Yuf2 Bluewire's Carrier Risk Intelligence Report provides essential insights: 1. Updated Daily (looking at almost 40M records) 2. Scores applied to 100% of motor carriers, with NO UNRATED CARRIERS 3. Safety and Compliance defects surfaced immediately, categorized into Severity Rating Categories 4. Twelve Fraud Indicators to identify deceptive practices (Chameleons) 5. Examination of Insurance Filings 6. Overview of FMCSA Enforcement Cases, including fines and penalties 7. Compiled into one master industry list 8. Filtered to identify 9,988 motor carriers (1.49% of the industry) that you should STOP brokering freight to TODAY This simple subscription plan is economical, backed by six years of industry use and testing. It is crucial to move away from CSA for risk detection, as even FMCSA disclaims its effectiveness for this purpose. Bluewire Scores and Fraud detection are available directly from Bluewire LLC or through partners like Highway.

Steve Bryan liked thisSteve Bryan liked thisI know that drafting out a carrier vetting policy is difficult. I've drafted many of them. And I know it's annoying that every lawyer is telling you (ahem shippers- you too), to do it immediately. That is why I am keeping my summit in Scottsdale small. It's designed for a shipper and broker to learn how to draft a solid, accurate carrier vetting policy. No panels droning on. This is an event where we sit down, roll up our sleeves and dig in.

DVIR repair documentation is now a top FMCSA enforcement priority in 2026 — and many fleets aren't ready. Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports aren't just a formality. In 2026, investigators are looking more closely at whether defects were properly documented, repaired, and signed off — and the gaps are showing up fast during audits. Here's what's putting fleets at risk right now: ⚠️ Incomplete defect repair records ⚠️ Missing mechanic sign-offs ⚠️ DVIRs filed without follow-up repair documentation ⚠️ Paper-based systems that can't produce records quickly If your fleet can't demonstrate a clear paper trail from defect discovery to repair completion — that's an enforcement red flag in 2026. We break down exactly why this is happening, what investigators are looking for, and how to close the documentation gap before your next audit. Read the full breakdown here 👇 https://lnkd.in/dtErsVAw #DVIR #FleetCompliance #FMCSA #FMCSAEnforcement #TruckingIndustry #FleetMaintenance #DOTAudit #CloudFleet #FleetManagement2026

Three more ELDs revoked. More carriers face extra costs to replace non-compliant devices. Motor carriers have up to 60 days to replace the revoked ELDs with compliant ELDs. Motor carriers and drivers who use the ELDs listed above must take the following actions: Discontinue using the revoked ELDs and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours of service data. Replace the revoked ELDs with compliant ELDs from the Registered Devices list before February 7, 2026.

🚨 The autonomous trucking revolution just hit the brakes—and that might be exactly what the industry needs. Aurora Innovation just delayed their driverless truck testing between Dallas and Houston until 2025. Their reason? "Extremely high confidence" in safety systems. Here's why this delay is actually smart business: 🔍 The Reality Check While Aurora's technology features advanced lidar, cameras, and radar sensors, they're still struggling with: • Surface street navigation complexities • Construction zone adaptability • Real-world unpredictable scenarios Despite partnerships with FedEx, Uber, and Toyota, they're choosing safety over speed. 💡 What This Means for Trucking 1️⃣ Safety First Approach Wins The trucking industry can't afford to rush autonomous technology. One major accident could set the entire industry back years and destroy public trust. 2️⃣ Gradual Implementation is Key Aurora's plan to start with just 10 autonomous trucks and scale to "tens" by end of 2025 shows realistic expectations. This isn't about replacing drivers overnight—it's about strategic integration. 3️⃣ Human Drivers Remain Essential While technology advances, skilled drivers are still the backbone of logistics. Autonomous trucks will likely complement, not completely replace, human expertise for years to come. The companies that succeed in autonomous trucking won't be the fastest to market—they'll be the ones that prioritize safety, reliability, and gradual integration. Sometimes slowing down is the fastest way to move forward. What's your take on autonomous trucking timelines? Are we being too cautious or not cautious enough? #TruckingIndustry #AutonomousTrucking #LogisticsTechnology #TruckingNews #FreightInnovation #TruckingSafety #SupplyChain #TransportationTech #TruckingFuture #FleetManagement

Why are most fleet tracking systems slow down after 300+ vehicles? At 50 vehicles — everything works fine. At 150 — still smooth. At 250 — no major issues. Then growth hits 300+. Suddenly: • Live tracking lags • Reports load slowly • Playback delays increase • Visibility drops Here’s why. Most fleet systems run on: • Shared hosting • Low-spec VPS • Poorly optimized cloud setups At a small scale, that’s enough. But once hundreds of vehicles start sending location data every few seconds, the server must handle: • Constant database writes • Real-time processing • Web + mobile dashboard requests • Alerts & event triggers If the infrastructure isn’t built for scale: CPU spikes. Database slows. Performance drops. And fleet managers think the app is the problem. It’s usually not. It’s the infrastructure behind it. In transport operations, even small delays reduce control. As your fleet grows, your server capacity must grow too. Because tracking isn’t just software. It’s infrastructure.

🚨 Fuel Theft Doesn’t Always Happen at the Vehicle Level Sometimes it happens at the tank level. Sneak Peek: XFuel™ powered by AZ Fuel — Coming Soon to Prometheus This image shows exactly why traditional fuel monitoring fails fleets every day. 🔍 What You’re Looking At This is a single vehicle with dual fuel tanks: Driver-Side Tank: Fuel usage declines gradually — normal, expected consumption. Passenger-Side Tank: A sudden, steep fuel drop occurs while the vehicle is not consuming fuel at a normal rate. 🚨 This is a potential fuel theft or unauthorized fuel removal event. And in most fleets today? 👉 This would go completely unnoticed. ❌ Why Fleets Miss This Today Most systems: Average fuel across both tanks Rely on MPG estimates Depend on fuel receipts Can’t isolate tank-specific behavior So the loss gets: Blended into averages Written off as “normal variance” Absorbed as cost Month after month. Most fuel loss isn’t dramatic — it’s: Small Repeated Hidden Unchallenged And over a year, it becomes six-figure losses. 🧠 This Is the Difference Between: ❌ “Fuel looks a little high this month” and ✅ “This tank lost fuel at this exact time.” That difference is control. 🔐 Built for Proof — Not Estimates XFuel™ powered by AZ Fuel delivers: Sub-liter accuracy Per-tank visibility Time-stamped fuel events Audit-grade evidence Plug-and-play install (no drilling) 🚀 Coming Soon to Prometheus XFuel™ powered by AZ Fuel turns fuel from a blind expense into a measurable, defensible asset. The BEA's detailed data on motor vehicle sales for February have been published. Two thoughts below using their seasonally adjusted data. Thoughts: •The top chart shows light weight vehicle sales (autos, light trucks, SUVs) on a seasonally adjusted annual rate. Feb 2026 came in at 15.75 million units. While a nice jump from January's 14.82 million unit figure, which was negatively affected by winter weather, this is well below the 16.23 million unit rate we averaged in 2025. For comparison, back in 2019, the rate was 16.96 million units, whereas 2017 was 17.15 million units. •The bottom chart shows the percentage of light weight vehicle sales consisting of vehicles assembled outside of North America—the BEA's definition of "domestic" lumps US, Canadian, and Mexican assembled vehicles together. February 2026 was 22.5%, whereas January 2026 was 23.1%. 2019's average was 22.4%. 2025 averaged 22.6%. 2024 averaged 23.0%. •The conclusion is clear: tariffs haven't significantly changed whether Americans purchase vehicles assembled in North America versus outside North America. Implication: March's light weight vehicle sales will be an immensely important economic indicator. March is usually one of the strongest months for vehicle sales on a not seasonally adjusted basis. If March disappoints (let's call 16 million units SAAR that threshold), then it will not be the best of signs for light weight vehicle demand in the USA for 2026. #supplychain #supplychainmanagement #manufacturing #freight #trucking
